CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1302: Chapter 1310: New Award

”By the way, I’m really curious, how are things going between you and your ’black-face’ instructor at home?” Jane Sampson thought of Mair Williams when she saw her.

”You really have a way with words, just mentioning ’your home’ hits right in the heart,” Mair Williams said happily, initially trying to touch Jane Sampson’s face before recalling they were both made up, then with a sheepish smile, she withdrew her hand.

Jane Sampson raised her eyebrows, quite surprised.

”From the sound of it, have you succeeded?” Jane Sampson was about to applaud for Mair Williams. Knowing the difficulty of bewildering the ’black-face’ instructor, and it has only been several months, how could she not applaud Mair Williams?

”Not yet, but I feel it’s close,” Mair Williams sat there, smiling proudly, ”The man Mair Williams sets her sights on, how could he possibly escape my palm? The strategy of deliberately letting go to capture at any time never goes out of fashion. After he got used to my constant nagging every day, when I suddenly quieted down, do you know how anxious and worried he was that something might have happened to me?”

Mair Williams beamed with joy, ”After I resisted contacting him for ten days, do you know what he did?”

”What?” Jane Sampson’s curiosity was piqued.

”He pretended to dial the wrong number and called me; when I picked up, he even had the tone like ’oh how did I dial wrong.’ I just pretended I didn’t know, just to see how long he could keep it up,” Mair Williams sighed, ”A taciturn man, his acting skills aren’t that great.”

”Then after ’accidentally’ calling me, he continued pretending it was just a casual checkup, started asking if I’ve been busy with work recently, then went on to repeatedly remind me that as important as work is, I should take good care of myself, not stay up late, not eat randomly, and make sure to rest well.” Mair Williams hummed proudly, ”Look, he doesn’t even realize how much he misses me during the days I don’t harass him.”

”My friend, you’re incredible.” Jane Sampson genuinely admired Mair Williams, her skills in enticing a man were top-notch.

”Of course! Who do I, Mair Williams, think I am? Once I seriously pursue someone, is there anyone I can’t conquer?” Mair Williams laughed with complacency, ”Just wait and see, you’ll be hearing good news from me very soon.”

After discussing their personal affairs, Mair Williams started talking about tonight’s award ceremony.

”By the way, have you heard that to encourage newcomers and creativity, two new awards have been added this year? One is for Best New Lyricist and the other for Best New Composer, and you, you’ve been nominated for the former.” Mair Williams patted Jane Sampson on the shoulder, ”Honestly, that movie theme song which you wrote the lyrics for really touches the heart. The first time I heard it, I cried. Later, when watching the movie at home, I was sobbing uncontrollably with the tablet computer in my arms.”

After praising Jane Sampson, Mair Williams couldn’t help but comfort her, ”But, sister, not to dampen your spirits, there are four nominees in total, and honestly, compared to them, you don’t have much competitive edge.”

Mair Williams has been in the circle for a long time, so she is familiar with many musicians in it, whether they are high-profile or low-key, whether they work in the limelight or behind the scenes, she knows almost everyone.

Her stature might still not match James Carter’s, but since James Carter has been retired for several years, her source of information is timelier than his.
