CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1326: Chapter 1334: Chasing Me Back

Capital Province’s evening weather was quite nice, and if one looked up, they could faintly see the twinkling starlight.

Gwendolyn Young was sitting in the bedroom making a call to her husband, inevitably bringing up the topic of their daughter, Jillian Carter.

During the call, Gwendolyn sighed to her husband, her tone unable to hide her emotions.

She informed her husband of what Jillian had done, and added, ”I scolded her last night, and today she’s been avoiding me all day long. When I leave the house, she does too, and when I’m home, she locks herself in her room, not even coming downstairs for dinner. I’ve decided to move out from here tomorrow.”

Gwendolyn was very upset. ”Husband, I’m somewhat at a loss about how to guide our daughter. I feel like a failure as a mother; not only did I fail to take good care of our son, but I’m also failing to guide our daughter.”

After hearing his wife’s self-reproach, Minister Carter’s face darkened, and he said firmly, ”It’s all because she was spoiled when she was young, spoiled to the point where she doesn’t know how high the sky is and how deep the ground is. What does she even broadcast in her live streams? Just showing off a luxurious lifestyle! She’s tarnished the reputation of the Carter Family! I’ll arrange for someone to bring her back tomorrow, and I’ll discipline her myself!”

”Then I’ll go talk to her, let her pack her luggage, and go back tomorrow.” Gwendolyn also thought that sending her daughter back to the southland was the best solution, at least her husband would be there, and he could keep their daughter in line.

After chatting for a while, Gwendolyn went upstairs to knock on Jillian’s room door.

It took quite some time before a lackadaisical Jillian opened the door, holding a bottle of nail polish in her hand, clearly having been painting her nails. ”Mom. It’s so late, what’s up?” Jillian wasn’t prepared to let her mother into her bedroom.

”Your dad will arrange for someone to pick you up tomorrow. Pack your things; you’re going back tomorrow.” Gwendolyn extended her hand and touched Jillian’s face. Yesterday was the first time she, as a mother for many years, had struck her child.

Back when James was injured and incapacitated, she had never laid a hand on her ignorant daughter. But yesterday, she really couldn’t bear it anymore.

The bottle of nail polish in Jillian’s hand clattered to the floor.

”Mom, are you trying to drive me away?” Jillian looked at Gwendolyn in disbelief, ”Mom, yesterday’s incident is in the past, and you still want to send me away! Do you think I’m an eyesore? Have I disappointed you so much that you want me out of sight, not even wanting to see me?”

While speaking, Jillian pushed away her mother’s hand on her face and yelled, ”Mom, do you even love me?”

Gwendolyn gently shook her head, ”Mom hopes that you can learn to grow up and mature, that you can be sensible.”

Jillian’s tears began to fall. ”How am I not sensible? What have I done that’s so unforgivable? Mom, by doing this, it really makes me wonder if you’re really my mother. Am I someone you just picked up?”

After she spoke, Jillian slammed the door and then stood inside the bedroom, crying and throwing a tantrum, ignoring how her mother knocked on the door from the outside, as she had no intention of opening it again.

Jillian cried and fumed alone in her bedroom for a long time. Thinking about her father’s temper, she sat there upset.

Her father’s words were always followed by action, but she didn’t want to leave Capital Province. She was just starting to find her footing here; she didn’t want to be sent back.

Jillian, panicking and anxious, took out her suitcase from next to her, hurriedly packing her valuable clothes, jewelry, and cosmetics inside. In her rush, she actually filled two 26-inch suitcases to the brim with her belongings.
