I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 1027: Chapter 1026: Wild Shooting?

Luo Yirui returned to the car. It was the first time he’d meddled in someone else’s business, and he wasn’t sure if he’d done the right thing. As he got into the car, he hesitated for a moment before sitting down.

Will this cause trouble for Mom and Dad?

Subconsciously, he felt that his parents wouldn’t be afraid of the Nie Family. But by helping someone persecuted by the Nie Family, wouldn’t he attract their attention?

Luo Yirui sighed, feeling a bit uneasy.

”Brother Xiao Rui, by doing this you’ll make the Nie Family hold a grudge against you. You saw how unreasonable that woman was!” Hao Rong said, turning his head.

Luo Yirui remained silent. Seeing this, Hao Rong sighed and stopped speaking. They had already offended Nie Kaidi, so it didn’t seem to matter if there was one more grudge.

The group headed to the shooting range. Hao Rong was leading them to an illegal shooting range—a place without a business license, known only to insiders. Also, this place didn’t restrict minors’ entry.

For the three of them, the word ”minor” was an absolute barrier. Many venues were inaccessible to them. But if they waited until adulthood, they wouldn’t be able to relate to their peers anymore.

Hao Rong frequented these places. Practicing shooting was one objective, but he also wanted to show off his shooting skills in front of Luo Yirui. After all, in front of Luo Yirui, he often felt small; he needed something to boast about!

”You guys are beginners. I can recommend a gun for you—the Ruger Mark III, 22 caliber. It’s lightweight with low recoil, perfect for newcomers. Although it’s not very attractive in appearance, it’s really practical. That’s what I practiced with back in the day!” Hao Rong took them to the basement.

This shooting range was enclosed, with no outdoor area, and it was small scale, only offering fixed shooting modes. Therefore, professional shooters wouldn’t come here.

No boy isn’t interested in shooting, and Luo Yirui and Jing Changle were no exceptions.

Jing Changle was a complete novice, and Luo Yirui hadn’t even touched a real gun.

Once inside, there were two men at the entrance, looking more like guards than security. Leaning against the wall, they looked at Hao Rong and his group, asking if Hao Rong had a pass.

”I do, I’m a member here!” Hao Rong said, straightening up as he pulled out a gold card.

The two men nodded and let them in without even asking for ID cards, assuming these kids probably didn’t have ID cards.

Hao Rong led the two inside, explaining things along the way. Seeing their curious looks as they glanced around, he felt full of pride.

”Don’t get nervous when holding the gun, you need to stabilize it...” Hao Rong advised the two.

A boy passing by gave him a disdainful look—novice!

Hao Rong didn’t realize he was being looked down on and eagerly led them into the shooting area.

Luo Yirui didn’t choose the gun Hao Rong recommended. Although that gun was indeed practical, he preferred the Glock 21, 45 caliber, as it was lighter, though its recoil was harder to control.

Under Luo Yirui’s suggestion, Jing Changle chose the gun Hao Rong recommended. To him, it made no difference since he didn’t even know how to hold a gun.

In front of them, Hao Rong felt a great sense of superiority, like a seasoned veteran giving them pointers, which felt immensely satisfying!

”Ha, look who it is! Isn’t it Hao Rong? And you’re already playing teacher with that skill level?”

Hao Rong was excited, but upon hearing this voice, his face immediately fell.

Zhuo Hao!

He turned, frowned, and said, ”Why do you show up everywhere?”

Zhuo Hao raised an eyebrow, ”Is this shooting range opened by your family? Just because you can come doesn’t mean I can’t. Today really is unlucky, seeing you when I’m out having fun! Must have skipped consulting the almanac before leaving home.”

Hao Rong’s face turned blue with anger, ”Pah, you’re the unlucky one for me! Couldn’t you spare us your incompetence out here?”

Zhuo Hao seemed to have heard something particularly amusing and exaggeratedly pointed at his own nose, ”My incompetence? Oh, please, take a good look at yourself before you mislead others!”

Zhuo Hao’s sidekick: ”...”

Luo Yirui and Jing Changle: ”...”

Seeing them bickering reminded Luo Yirui of Chu Fenglei and Gu Haiqing, who seemed to fight whenever they met as well.

Zhuo Hao’s family background wasn’t as good as Hao Rong’s, but he had borrowed some influence from Nie Kaidi before, so he wasn’t intimidated by Hao Rong in the slightest. These minor scuffles between kids generally weren’t taken seriously at home.

”Enough talking, let’s just see who’s better. How about a little competition?” Zhuo Hao gestured invitingly.

Hao Rong sneered, ”Sure, bring it on, who’s afraid of who?”

Zhuo Hao and Hao Rong picked up their guns, heading for the 25-meter shoot, targeting a 60-point paper target.

Luo Yirui watched the targets. The army used the same ones, with 30 rings passing, 40 rings good, and 45 rings excellent for new recruits.

The competition between Zhuo Hao and Hao Rong was simple: three shots each, with the highest single shot winning.

Both at the same shooting range, they raised their handguns to start shooting. Hao Rong fired first... and missed the target.

”Mistaken shot~” Hao Rong coughed lightly and quickly raised his second shot, taking his time to aim better.

On the other side, Zhuo Hao snorted a few times, finally landing his first shot—ten rings!

Less than satisfied, Zhuo Hao quickly aimed and fired his second shot—twenty rings!

For his age, this was quite impressive. Hao Rong overheard some cheers, his back teeth grinding, hurriedly adjusting to refocus.

After they finished their three shots each, Zhuo Hao emerged victorious, achieving an unexpected 30-ring score—a real breakthrough!

”Thank you, you helped me break through. But as for you, tut-tut, missing the target twice? Really, we should enlarge the target as big as a wall. Then maybe you could hit it.” Zhuo Hao laughed as he spoke.

Hao Rong clenched his fists in anger, wanting to turn and leave immediately—it was too embarrassing to stay.

Beside him, Luo Yirui had been eager for a while. Seeing the competition over meant he could finally touch a real gun. He happily ran his hand over the gun’s surface, then raised it.

”Wow, look at that kid, seems like he’s a pro just by his stance.”

Zhuo Hao’s eyes lit up seeing Luo Yirui’s stance. Hao Rong immediately perked up; perhaps Brother Xiao Rui was a shooting expert after all?

Luo Yirui picked up the gun, made a slight adjustment, then fired six consecutive shots!

This shooting style was quite bold, but when everyone looked at the target paper, they were dumbfounded. Every shot hit the paper, but it seemed chaotic, like random firing?!
