I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 1007: Chapter 1006: Dig It Up and Take It Away

Because she was too nervous, Hao Meili stood at the stairway for nearly two minutes. Luo Yirui and the other person didn’t notice her odd behavior until they saw her walking toward the other side of the hallway, at which point they quietly sighed in relief.

Seeing Hao Meili enter the room at the end, the two completely relaxed and quickly supported themselves against the wall to stand up, then turned around and went downstairs.

The door of the first-floor hall was originally locked, and the two were worried about how to get out. Unexpectedly, with a push, it opened. It must have been Hao Meili who opened it... But here came the problem: how did Hao Meili, coming from outside, open this door?

This matter was rather bizarre, but the two were only thinking about whether Hao Meili had hidden something at the base of the wall, so they didn’t think deeply about it.

Hunching over, they followed the base of the wall, taking a large detour to where Hao Meili had been, looked up and saw that the windows were dark, the curtains drawn, without any sign of someone spying.

Thus, the two became alert, not daring to straighten their bodies, in case there was still someone else spying at this moment.

They didn’t expect this thought to be correct; behind one of the second-floor windows, there was indeed a shadow staring down below, judging from the figure, it was a man.

However, Luo Yirui and the other’s bodies were small, and they were intentionally crouching, hidden by the backyard wall, not seen by the person upstairs.

Squatting at the base of the wall, Luo Yirui searched a bit and found traces of soil disturbance under a flower. He glanced at Jing Changle, and the two began digging.

They thought it would be deep, but unexpectedly, after digging less than arm’s deep, they found what Hao Meili had hidden, a small oil paper package, not big, but wrapped very carefully.

Without taking a closer look, they put the small package in their pocket and crouched with their backs along the same route to return.

Finally, they managed to return to the room in the dark, their hearts pounding quickly, it was already past three in the morning, yet neither was sleepy.

Despite their curiosity about the contents of the oil paper package, neither planned to open it at this time. Opening it now would require turning on the light, and once the light was on, everything would be exposed, wouldn’t it?

Meanwhile, as they hid back in the room, someone in the shadows used phone lines to hack into the Hao Family Villa system, deleting all blurred images recorded by the hallway’s surveillance equipment, leaving only Hao Meili’s image.

Luo Yirui had no idea someone was covering for them, thinking his actions were flawless, feeling both thrilling and exciting, he and Jing Changle stayed awake until dawn, wondering what was inside the oil paper package.

Outside, the sky gradually brightened, but the two children fell into a groggy sleep, with the oil paper package hidden under Luo Yirui’s bed, waiting for the daylight to open it.

As soon as the sky lightened, many noises suddenly came from outside the second floor, sounding somewhat chaotic, waking the just-asleep Luo Yirui. He didn’t leave the room but crouched at the door listening to the commotion outside.

Jing Changle also woke up, overly excited from last night, his head was now aching, but thinking of the oil paper package quickly made him alert.

”What’s happening?” Jing Changle mouthed to Luo Yirui, not vocalizing.

Luo Yirui gestured for him to come over, and Jing Changle tiptoed over to the door to listen to the commotion outside.

”The grandaunt just vomited blood, quick, go get Doctor Sun!”

Someone outside kept repeating this.
