I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 1022: Chapter 1021: Are You Crazy?

Of course, he just found it absurd, and the moment he thought of her bizarre eyes, Luo Yirui’s heart was once again filled with fear.

Tonight, he insisted he wouldn’t go back; he even considered leaving the Hao Family first thing in the morning. But then he thought, if he left like that, perhaps the matter would linger in his heart for a lifetime!

So he hesitated for a long time and decided to temporarily overcome the fear in his heart, figure out what was really happening before leaving. Otherwise, he would spend his whole life guessing wildly in fear, and that would be even scarier than the current situation.

According to Grandpa’s words, this is called a heart knot, and if not promptly resolved, it would always reside in one’s heart, affecting one’s life in many ways.

At that time, Luo Yirui couldn’t quite understand the meaning of these words; after all, they were too profound for him. Yet, the experience of being captured made him grasp some of it.

”Are you crazy?” Jing Changle had already started packing, ”I say we should leave in the dark soon!”

Luo Yirui shook his head, ”I’m not leaving. I don’t want to live in fear all the time.”

Jing Changle looked perplexed, ”If we leave now, won’t we avoid the fear?”

Luo Yirui sat on the floor leaning against the bed, with his head bowed, he said, ”If I leave, those eyes might appear in my dream every night!”

Jing Changle was silent; it seemed that way. After he saw that basin of bloody water, he would wake up startled every night for half a year, as if seeing the children being held in the basement crying to him every evening.

During that time, anytime he saw red, or saw a basin with water inside, he would be terrified; sometimes, he even had hallucinations. The situation improved only when his grandfather got sick and his attention was diverted.

Just hearing Luo Yirui describe it made him extremely scared, let alone seeing it with his own eyes; surely Luo Yirui would think about it incessantly, unable to control himself.

Actually, when facing the same thing, many people make completely different choices!

”You go ahead, I will contact Uncle Tian Zhi, you find him at Heavenly Blessing.” Luo Yirui said.

Now Hao Meili’s condition was too bizarre, he thought it best not to let Jing Changle follow him into danger.

Jing Changle stopped packing after hearing this, sat down beside him and said, ”I’ll stay. In case I need to carry you and run away.”

”Phooey phooey phooey! Childish words have no bounds, let the wind blow them away. I won’t need you to carry me to escape!” Luo Yirui elbowed him, but couldn’t help breaking into a smile.

Though he felt that Jing Changle leaving would be the most sensible choice, he was really scared being alone. Jing Changle chose to stay, making him feel he’s not fighting alone.

”Although I’ve decided to stay, what if we encounter danger?” Jing Changle asked.

Luo Yirui was silent, he had no belief in being undefeated in this world, this strange occurrence left him unsure of what to do.

”Do you want to mention this matter to Aunt Bei?” Jing Changle suggested.

Luo Yirui pondered for a while, then said, ”Let me call my dad first.”

He was somewhat worried mom might urge him to leave.

Saying so, he forgot it was deep into the night and dialed his dad’s number. The call connected in barely two seconds.

”Little Rui?” Luo Xudong’s voice came through.

”Dad!” Luo Yirui’s voice sounded much brighter, and the fear in his heart was dispelled a bit.

”What happened?”

At that moment, Luo Xudong was sitting on a cushion, gently lifting a corner of the tent to check the sky outside.

From the moment he received the call, he was wide awake; a call at this hour indicated his son faced a problem he couldn’t resolve.

Luo Yirui immediately relayed the situation to his dad, Luo Xudong frowned slightly upon hearing this, and connected the signal from another device to this phone.

”Little Rui, repeat what you just said.”

Meanwhile, in Jiang City, two secret operation group leaders were listening to this call, waiting for Luo Yirui to explain his situation.

The two operation groups were stationed at different locations, with personnel rotating daily to keep an eye on Luo Yirui. They had monitored the situation described by Luo Yirui, except for the matter of the Vertical Pupil.

Since Hao Meili posed no threat to Luo Yirui, based on Luo Xudong’s instruction, they hadn’t intervened.

”Little Rui, wait for dad’s message.”

After saying this, Luo Xudong ended the call but remained connected to the secret operation group signal.

”Little Rui has explained the situation; investigate it promptly.” Luo Xudong instructed.

This time, he did not set a time limit for the secret operation group, since he knew Hao Meili was treated by Beisitian, which meant even Beisitian had been mistaken. A secret operation group lacking Beisitian’s expertise might not be able to uncover anything quickly.

Luo Xudong thought for a moment and dialed his wife’s number.

”Hello~” Beisitian’s somewhat hoarse and sleepy voice sounded, clearly, she was still in a dream.

Upon hearing this voice, warmth unconsciously filled Luo Xudong’s brows, unable to help saying, ”It’s daylight and you’re still lingering in bed.”

Beisitian rubbed her eyes, lifted a corner of the curtain, discovered it was still dark outside, instantly speechless.

”You’re out of your mind!”

Luo Xudong chuckled.

”Could it be you’ve been missing me and can’t fall asleep?” Beisitian teased drowsily.

”Hmm, can’t sleep. I’ll be going to Jiang City in a few days, we can have a reunion.” Luo Xudong said.

Beisitian gently responded, when he visits Jiang City, it’s certainly due to some matter; the two have a tacit understanding; whether there’s an issue or not, they can sense it.

”Calling me in the middle of the night just for this~” Beisitian’s voice was lazy, her eyes half slumberous.

Luo Xudong’s expression grew slightly serious, ”I want to ask about Hao Meili.”

Upon hearing the name, Beisitian immediately realized it involved her son, sleepiness vanished.

”Don’t worry, everything is under control for now, it’s just somewhat strange.” Luo Xudong glanced at the freshly received information.

Hao Meili indeed possessed a pair of Vertical Pupils!

The feedback also indicated Hao Meili’s behavior was very peculiar, yet her consciousness remained intact, not without awareness.

Realizing this, Luo Xudong slightly furrowed his brow; the danger level of conscious and unconscious behavior is completely different.

Beisitian never received a nighttime call from her husband before; this first instance indicated something very strange and related to her son!

”I’ve sent you a document, you should take a look.” Luo Xudong mentioned.

Beisitian nodded and hung up the call. Not long after, Tian Zhi came knocking, the faxed document arrived.

This document was information Luo Xudong received recently. As Beisitian examined the familiar faces on it, her brows grew severely serious.
