I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 923: Chapter 922: What He Wants

Upon hearing the little one’s request, Wei Zhongxun glanced at Beisitian. In fact, he thought the kid should be trained well, just like what Luo Xudong thought. However, Beisitian was always reluctant to have Luo Yirui involved in these things. She believed that a child should have a happy childhood, rather than being entangled in adult scheming.

As expected...

”No way, Little Rui has to wait until he’s sixteen to be considered an adult. Before that, you have to study well, and during your free time, you can go play with your little friends...”

Before Beisitian could finish her words, Luo Yirui already lowered his head disappointedly, pouting and said, ”I’ve always been first in my class, and I’m also starting to memorize herbs, even faster than Sister Yu Zhu. As for playmates...I don’t want to play with them, so childish...”

Other than playing with his two sisters, which he found somewhat interesting, he always felt that the games other kids his age played were too childish. They played marbles, so on his first try, Luo Yirui managed to shoot all the marbles into the hole and lost interest since.

Shooting sparrows with a slingshot, Luo Yirui also found this boring; it was nowhere near as interesting as shooting. Although his dad hadn’t allowed him to use a real gun, he could already hit the target with a steel ball gun, and hitting sparrows, he could get one with each aim, extremely boring...

What else... Luo Yirui recalled with boredom, thinking about those little friends he outperformed, he could only have a silent tribute for them...

Generally, children like this aren’t very sociable, but Luo Yirui was unexpectedly popular, mainly because both sides wanted him as an ally in their games, and with him around, during sparrow roasting, basically, everyone got one...

Furthermore, no matter what games they played, Luo Yirui wasn’t arrogant; he never looked down on his little friends, which might be the biggest reason for his popularity.

However, after one or two times, Luo Yirui completely lost interest and couldn’t even be bothered to go out when his little friends came for him.

Luo Yirui’s biggest wish was to follow his mom on her visits and run around with her. He was genuinely curious about the Mystic Doctor.

So this time, getting to tag along unexpectedly, Luo Yirui couldn’t be happier. Even though it was just while traveling, he felt he was encountering something extraordinary!

Wei Zhongxun generally never interfered in children’s education, as it wasn’t his child, but he always thought his master’s approach was too ordinary. Yes, too ordinary, considering her son was a prodigy!

Having a happy childhood depends on whether the little one wants it. See what the little one desires most; he longs to understand the world of Mystic Doctors. Normally, you’d want a child to study well, but what about Luo Yirui?

At five, already in first grade, always first in his year since starting school, even starting to self-learn second-grade courses, and he had learned quite a few characters, already starting to memorize herbs—that’s not even mentioning the fact that these are ordinary prodigies.

At five, he could already create Spiritual Talismans!

That’s simply monstrous, with such spirit, not to mention photographic memory and super strong memory abilities. Learning step by step like ordinary children seemed a bit wasteful, didn’t it?!

Wei Zhongxun understood that Beisitian hoped Luo Yirui could have a happy childhood, not crushed under enormous pressure. He didn’t know how his master’s childhood was, but it seemed like she wanted to compensate for past regrets.

”Ahem... Master, I think you should look at what the child wants. Little Rui’s mind isn’t like an ordinary person’s. Just by looking at his memory with herbs, he’s much stronger than little Yu Zhu, who is several years older. Little Yu Zhu was so discouraged by him for several days.”

Wei Zhongxun leaned on the car, arms crossed, watching Luo Yirui and Zhuangzhuang solving problems in the field, with Zhuangzhuang following for fun.

Beisitian was silent for a few seconds and then said, ”He’s too young, I’m worried the surrounding environment will make him lose himself.”

Wei Zhongxun knew what she meant, Luo Yirui’s monstrous talent would lead to countless praises, both genuine and insincere. At Luo Yirui’s age, he couldn’t tell the difference; over time, he might truly believe he was far superior to others and just a bit of effort could lead him to surpass others by a long shot.

In the long run, geniuses might fall from grace. Many geniuses fade into ordinariness, sinking in such praise-fueled destruction.

Beisitian certainly hoped her child could realize his potential, so she couldn’t let him spend those formative years under illusionary flattery.

Wei Zhongxun lit a cigarette and said, ”He’s not alone, there are so many people watching over him. And in the small courtyard, basically no one gives those three special treatment. Under the authority of you two, no one dares anyway.”

Beisitian and Luo Xudong never allowed anyone to give the children special treatment. As for Luo Yirui, Luo Xudong was even more strict. From when his bones hardened, he was made to train, scaring Mrs. Qin into slapping Luo Xudong twice, saying under two years he would be ruined from training!

Constrained by Mrs. Qin’s authority, Luo Xudong had to give up until the past two years when he started some physical training for him. Though, since three, he already trained him on some basic shooting skills.

As for the two little girls, well, Luo Xudong admitted he couldn’t bear it...

Beisitian showed no change on the surface but sighed inside. Perhaps she did need to adjust her educational approach for Luo Yirui, fearing to smother his interests and nature with worry this and that.

This might not be good for Luo Yirui.

She never thought about it before, but being a parent is really tough; no matter what you do, there’s always a concern.

The three of them and a dog embarked on their journey once again. This time without stopping, they reached Jiang City. Unlike their previous trip to Ningjin County, Jiang City is a big city with a branch of Heavenly Blessing here, so once they arrived, someone immediately came to receive them, with no worries for food, clothing, shelter, and transportation.

Just arriving in Jiang City, Wei Zhongxun received a call, saying that no one from Beijing could come to pick up Luo Yirui for the time being; only Mrs. Qin could come...

Beisitian pondered for two seconds after hearing this, ”Don’t let my mother come; it’s too far and bumpy.”

”Alright, I’ll go make the call.” Wei Zhongxun hurried away to return the call.

Wei Zhongxun dialed the number, and it was Tian Zhi who answered.

”Tell me honestly, did you all conspire not to come pick up Little Rui~!” Wei Zhongxun snorted and asked.

There was silence for two seconds on the other side, ”Brother Xun, you’re overthinking it. There’s indeed no one available on our end!”

Little Yu Zhu glanced at Brother Tian Zhi, seeing he just turned down the TV volume and was holding a handful of melon seeds in his hand...
