I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 730: Chapter 729: The Past

Qin Xinyu recounted the family history of the Qin Family and a part of the Bei Family’s history.

At that time, the Bei Family was a significant clan. Although the population was not large, their overall strength and average prowess were quite formidable, far surpassing the prominent families and schools of today.

”But in fact, the Bei Family isn’t well-known within the Mystic Doctors,” Wei Zhongxun asked from behind.

If the Bei Family was a super clan, the Wei Family wouldn’t be unaware; even by looking at family history, one could see something.

Qin Xinyu nodded, ”Indeed, in most family and school records, they are glossed over. Some might describe them as a family with more heritage than the major clans, but no one mentions their name.”

Beisitian was perplexed, ”Why is that?”

Qin Xinyu shook his head, ”This started from that blank period. Only in the Bei Family’s history is there documentation. Even the Shi Family, and among two affiliated families, there’s no relevant explanation.”

Beisitian frowned and said, ”Please, continue.”

”No need for such courtesy,” Qin Xinyu knew Beisitian had yet to acknowledge his subordinate relationship since she still treated him as an outsider.

Beisitian could not simply trust Qin Xinyu based on a Jade Plate alone. She was more interested in learning about the Bei Family.

Qin Xinyu looked at Beisitian and continued, ”The population of the Bei Family isn’t large, but almost everyone is elite. In the Bei Family, Spiritual Pointing and Success Talisman are the minimum standard to become a Mystic Doctor, and each generation in the Bei Family produces a pair of twins whose talent and spirit are extraordinarily unmatched.”

He believed Beisitian must be one of those twins!

This was the reason he had been probing earlier, to draw out the descendants of the Bei Family, especially those who inherited this hereditary ailment, by claiming to have seen the disease and its afflicted siblings.

The Bei Family had many affiliated families, and while the Qin Family and Shi Family may not be the most outstanding, their overall strength could not be underestimated. More importantly, these two families were the only ones loyal to the Bei Family’s twins in each generation!

They can refuse to execute orders from others in the Bei Family.

However, the Bei Family had vanished for so long, decades were enough to wear down many aspects. Even Qin Xinyu wasn’t confident he could find the main family in his generation; his father had searched his whole life.

Dad, you can rest easy now; your son has found the main family.

Qin Xinyu silently recited in his heart.

The decline of the Bei Family was not so much a disaster but rather a self-extinction. This happened in the generation of their ancestor Beidewang. That pair of twins were quite extraordinary, with an abundant spirit at ten years old, capable of breakthroughs with sufficient foundational knowledge at the time.

Later, these twins made a breakthrough at sixteen, becoming the youngest Mystic Doctors in history capable of Spiritual Talisman.

The calamity began at this time. Generally, twins have a strong bond, not to mention the twins of the Bei Family, destined to be manipulated by fate.

But these twins behaved like rivals, their personalities poles apart, perhaps because of their genius. Their conflict started from when they could compete for toys.

Latterly, the two contended with each other, coupled with internal strife in the Bei Family, which allowed some unscrupulous individuals to exploit the situation, the two divided the Bei Family, each claiming ownership over resources and manpower, ultimately forming two Bei Families.

Initially thought that the two Bei Families might each develop independently, but contrary to expectations, a super clan declined rapidly after splitting. When one vanished, the other followed.

Since then, only remnants of the Bei Family remained. It was thought, at least the hereditary ailment was eradicated. Nevertheless, after another pair of twins were born, the Bei Family seemed to start another cycle.

But the Bei Family never returned to its former glory. Despite the twins in each generation having extraordinary talent and spirit, the Bei Family appeared unwilling to rise again, continuing this way to the present.

Upon hearing these, Beisitian was silent for a while. Even the strongest family has a day to decline, not to mention a clan like the Bei Family with inherent contradictions; rapid decline was inevitable.

”By the way, the Shi Family you mentioned is another affiliated family?” Beisitian asked.

Qin Xinyu nodded, ”Yes, the Shi Family holds another Jade Pendant, but its whereabouts are currently unknown.”

He once wondered if it was the reputed Shi Family, but without evidence, Qin Xinyu dared not draw conclusions. After all, the Shi Family currently holds a prominent status in the Mystic Doctors.

Moreover, Qin Xinyu also had concerns, even if it were the Shi Family, would they still be willing to act as a subordinate family with their current status and prestige?

That’s why Qin Xinyu hadn’t searched, believing that if they truly intended to find the main family, they would strive continuously.

Additionally, after that fellow Shi Guang submitted the puzzling disease, the Shi Family had no response; if they were an affiliated family, they couldn’t possibly be unaware of the source of the hereditary ailment.

Beisitian naturally didn’t want to consider this further. She is now the head of the Qingyu School, not the heiress of the Bei Family, so Qin Xinyu was looking for the wrong person.

”You should search for the traces of the Bei Family.” Beisitian said.

Qin Xinyu smiled, ”You probably haven’t understood yet; my Qin Family is loyal only to the twins. Whether they intend to rejuvenate or inherit the Bei Family is irrelevant to us. You are the head of the Qingyu School; henceforth, my Qin Family will be the subordinate family of the Qingyu School.”

Beisitian smiled lightly, ”No need to rush to confirm this relationship since this is our second meeting.”

Qin Xinyu shook his head with a bitter smile, ”I understand; we can start by understanding each other.”

If it were another school, having someone voluntarily serve as a subordinate family would certainly be a source of pride, indicating the school’s strength for someone to willingly submit.

Beisitian didn’t trust him, even with the Bei Family’s token of the superior-subordinate relationship. Qin Xinyu knew it was impossible to secure her trust easily.

So he planned to stay by her side, let her witness the strength and influence of the Qin Family, ultimately, she wouldn’t hesitate to open up.

Wei Zhongxun scratched his head awkwardly, ”The way you two talk feels quite awkward.”

It felt like a matchmaking session he dared not mention to Beisitian.

Beisitian squinted at Wei Zhongxun, making him shut up immediately.

”By the way, are you attending this banquet?” Qin Xinyu asked.
