I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 713: Chapter 712: Recognizing a Son

As the azure light began to emerge, Tian Zhi was overjoyed, but he quickly recalled Beisitian’s advice. At this moment, more than ever, he needed to stay humble and focused, and fully concentrate on completing the final step.

Tian Zhi quickly calmed his mind, preventing his thoughts from wandering, as he watched the azure light lift the talisman paper, holding the Xuan Talisman in the palm of his hand.

Tian Zhi knew this was a sign of talisman formation; suppressing his inner joy, he diligently concentrated on the final step of burning the talisman.

Only by successfully burning the talisman can it truly be considered a Spiritual Talisman, unlike what most Mystic Doctors think, where talisman formation is enough, as this would greatly reduce the efficacy.

This is a common misconception among many Mystic Doctors, but for those who use a talisman medium, they can’t perform the burning step. Only the Spiritual Talisman can undergo burning, so one cannot blame most Mystic Doctors.

Watching the Xuan Talisman ignite from the palm and transform into a small pile of fine talisman powder falling into his palm, Tian Zhi’s heart raced fiercely.

He succeeded!

He did it; he can make a Spiritual Talisman now, and he has finally become a Mystic Doctor!

Tian Zhi was ecstatic, but seeing Jiang Mingzhong lying still, his joy slightly diminished. Crafting the Xuan Talisman was important to him, but even more important was using this Xuan Talisman to save lives!

Tian Zhi didn’t forget his duty and hurriedly took out a bottle of mineral water from his bag, poured out some, and mixed the talisman powder into the remaining water.

He shook the bottle slightly and then went to Jiang Mingzhong, gently massaging his neck and pouring the talismanic water into Jiang Mingzhong’s stomach.

This Xuan Talisman was not infused with any herbs, nor did Tian Zhi have any on him, but since it was crafted as a Spiritual Talisman, it would certainly work for Jiang Mingzhong.

Despite being confident it would work, Tian Zhi was still very nervous as he watched Jiang Mingzhong drink it, after all, it was his first talisman.

Shortly after drinking the Xuan Talisman, Jiang Mingzhong’s complexion began to improve, though still pale, it was far better than the previous bluish tint.

Not long after, Jiang Mingzhong’s eyelids quivered briefly before he opened his eyes, blinking dazedly, as if wondering if this was the underworld?

Even after opening his eyes, Jiang Mingzhong lay motionless, only blinking occasionally to show he was alive.

”Elder Jiang has woken up,” Tian Zhi said.

Upon hearing this voice, Jiang Mingzhong was startled and suddenly sat up, looking at Tian Zhi, ”It’s you... you’re from the Qingyu School!”

Tian Zhi nodded; if Jiang Mingzhong still had suicidal thoughts, all their efforts, his and the young man’s, would be in vain.

”I’m not dead?” Seeing Tian Zhi, Jiang Mingzhong knew he wasn’t in the underworld, but it all felt like a dream.

”You’re not dead. A limping young man jumped down to save you, nearly risking his life,” Tian Zhi said.

Jiang Mingzhong was taken aback, thinking he might have responded like most would, questioning why he was saved, why not let him die.

But after hearing Tian Zhi’s words, his eyes inexplicably welled up.

At a time when his son and daughter-in-law abandoned him, there was actually someone who selflessly risked their life to save him!

Tears streamed from Jiang Mingzhong’s eyes. Not seeing anyone around, he hastily asked, ”Where is the young man who saved me?”

Seeing his anxious expression, Tian Zhi felt relieved. He had been worried that Jiang Mingzhong might attempt suicide again.

”He went to call my master, he should be back soon,” Tian Zhi said.

As soon as he finished speaking, footsteps could be heard, not just one person. Following the sound, he saw two figures walking this way.

From their silhouettes, one of them was his master, Beisitian.

Tian Zhi was slightly surprised, how did they arrive so quickly?

Before long, the two arrived, it really was the young man and Beisitian.

”Master?” Tian Zhi asked Beisitian, puzzled.

”I was worried,” Beisitian said, glancing at Jiang Mingzhong.

Tian Zhi immediately understood her meaning. Beisitian had anticipated that Jiang Mingzhong might not be doing well recently, as their research showed his daughter-in-law might erupt, so Beisitian came out early.

In fact, Beisitian was nearby once Tian Zhi and the young man rescued Jiang Mingzhong, but she was unaware of the situation until the young man showed up at a nearby convenience store, saying he wanted to call someone named Beisitian.

By coincidence, Beisitian was not far from the young man, heard what he said, and, connecting it to what she inquired about in the park, approached him proactively.

Unable to hold back any longer upon seeing Beisitian, Tian Zhi said joyfully, ”Master, I succeeded!”

Beisitian, quite surprised, glanced at Tian Zhi. Succeeding in such a situation indicated that Tian Zhi indeed had great potential!

”Succeeded on the first try!” Tian Zhi added.

Now, Tian Zhi was like a child, eager to share his achievements and happiness with Beisitian, without fear of being thought boastful.

Beisitian smiled, ”Very good, I didn’t misjudge you!”

Though the Qingyu School now only had four members, half of them could craft a Spiritual Talisman.

Receiving Beisitian’s approval, Tian Zhi’s handsome face beamed with joy.

Jiang Mingzhong, weak and failing several attempts to stand, bowed his head, ”Thank you both for saving my life!”

These words were addressed to Tian Zhi and the young man.

Tian Zhi smiled, ”No need to thank me, you should thank the young man instead.”

Tian Zhi greatly admired him. Despite having a lame leg, he dared to jump in to save someone. Fortunately, his swimming skills were good, or he wouldn’t have lasted long enough for the elderly folks to throw the rope to him.

Jiang Mingzhong nodded, looking at the young man.

The young man immediately felt awkward, waving his hand, ”No need to thank me, I was just passing by...”

Jiang Mingzhong looked at the young man, filthy all over, his clothes shabby, and noticing his crippled leg, he realized the young man must have a difficult life, living without a permanent home.

Homeless... he too was now homeless.

Jiang Mingzhong turned to Beisitian, ”Doctor Bei, I’m aware of your deeds. If you can truly cure me, I’m not only willing to tell you everything I know, but I’ll also do anything you ask!”

Jiang Fei’s father was dead, and now, after being saved by this young man, Jiang Mingzhong decided to live the rest of his life well.

Beisitian nodded, ”Alright.”

She didn’t make any formal promise, but to Jiang Mingzhong, that single word was worth a thousand gold.

He had the means to repay the young man.

”Tonight, you can stay at a hotel with us first,” Beisitian said.
