I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 727: Chapter 726: He Doesn’t Know Her at All

In the past two days, Beisitian and Tian Zhi have been touring around Jinbei City. The Mystic Doctor Association is now expanding and has gained much more influence; they encounter the presence of mystic doctors two or three times a day.

Although it can’t match the impact of the exchange meeting, as the second largest event, it’s certainly not undeserving.

On this day, Jiang Mingzhong brought back news that the son of his old friend has arrived, and they have already made contact. They can meet this afternoon.

Upon hearing this, a touch of nervousness actually arose in Beisitian’s heart. How much information could they gather this time...

In the past, Beisitian never felt that any day was long, but these few hours today seemed exceptionally lengthy. Seeing that it was almost time, she tidied up a bit, leaving Jiang Xin and Tian Zhi there, and went with Jiang Mingzhong to the man’s lodging place.

Coincidentally, the man happened to be staying in the business hotel that Beisitian just bought.

”His name is Qin Xinyu, thirty-two years old, and he has a son,” Jiang Mingzhong introduced the situation to Beisitian on the way. ”My old friend passed away when Xiao Yu was twenty-six. At the time, I helped dress the body and handled the funeral, so this kid shouldn’t be like those people.”

Saying this, Jiang Mingzhong was not too certain either. The nature of people can only be known when things happen. No matter how close the relationship was before, it had a lot to do with him being a mystic doctor. Having seen so much human warmth and coldness, he didn’t dare to hold too much hope anymore.

As Beisitian just reached the entrance, the manager of this business hotel came out. This hotel is under the name of Heavenly Blessing but is actually Beisitian’s. The manager, having surely gotten words from Ma Tianlai, knew Beisitian was the real boss and was very respectful in demeanor.

”You go about your business.” Beisitian was not in the mood to attend to other matters, and she followed Jiang Mingzhong upstairs.

Qin Xinyu’s conditions seemed pretty good. Beisitian noticed he was staying in a suite, which is an apartment-style room with one bedroom and one living room, costing much more than a standard room.

The person who opened the door was Qin Xinyu, standing about 1.78 meters tall, but because he was of moderate build, he looked quite tall. He couldn’t be called very handsome, but he had a spirited demeanor, and his eyes were bright under his thick eyebrows.

”Uncle Jiang!”

Qin Xinyu appeared very excited upon seeing Jiang Mingzhong and didn’t spare Beisitian a glance, hurriedly pulling Jiang inside.

When Beisitian saw Qin Xinyu, she was certain she didn’t know him at all. So, had he really seen her and Bei Jiale?

”Uncle Jiang, where have you been all these years? I searched everywhere for you but couldn’t find you!” Qin Xinyu’s voice was deep and resonant.

Back then, Jiang Mingzhong had been driven away from the Association, and afterwards, due to the problem with his spirit, not to mention his quality of life, his mental state was likely very affected.

Qin Xinyu had always wanted to find Jiang Mingzhong, ready to lend a helping hand if needed, but Jiang Mingzhong had deliberately avoided those he knew before, even moving to a small county where no one could find him.

A few days ago, Jiang Mingzhong suddenly contacted him, which was unexpected for him.

”Oh, I found a place to retire, but now I am preparing to come back,” Jiang Mingzhong was comforted by Qin Xinyu’s genuine attitude. Even if only one person sincerely remembered him, it was enough!

”How about little brother Jiang Fei, did he come with you this time?” Qin Xinyu asked with a smile.

Jiang Fei was less than two years younger than him, and the two had played together since childhood, having a very good relationship.

On hearing this name, Jiang Mingzhong’s smile faltered for a moment before he said, ”He didn’t come. Let me introduce you. This is Doctor Bei, Beisitian. You must have heard of her name.”

Upon hearing Jiang Mingzhong change the topic, Qin Xinyu’s expression shifted slightly, and he didn’t ask further nor take the last two sentences to heart, turning instead to look at Beisitian.

”Sorry, I got a bit too excited seeing Uncle Jiang. I am Qin Xinyu. You’re here to inquire about the twin sisters, right?” Qin Xinyu said with a smile.

Beisitian nodded, ”Yes, Mr. Qin, could you tell me about them?”

”There’s nothing much to hide. Without the exchange conference, nobody would believe this illness is real. Anyway, no one around me believes it.”

”Have you met the twin sisters, Mr. Qin?” Beisitian asked, staring into Qin Xinyu’s eyes.

Qin Xinyu laughed and nodded, ”I’ve met them. They should be about the same age as you, both very beautiful. Now they have become mystic doctors; twins generally have more spirit than ordinary people; for them, it’s even more abundant. Why are you interested in this illness?”

Beisitian smiled and said, ”I plan to use it for research. Since it’s a difficult problem spotted at the exchange meeting, if we could find a cure, maybe we could become famous overnight.”

Next to her, Jiang Mingzhong was slightly startled, quietly glancing at Beisitian. This didn’t sound quite right.

Qin Xinyu laughed heartily, ”It’s impossible to find a solution. If anyone understands this illness, it would be the parties themselves. They were mystic doctors originally, and there still hasn’t been any solution!”

Beisitian lowered her eyes, sensing that Qin Xinyu indeed knew about this illness, but she was certain he wasn’t telling the truth.

”Is there no case of recovery for this illness?” Beisitian asked.

”Recovery case, please. This illness appears only once in a generation; this time, the twins encountered it, so it won’t appear in the same way again,” Qin Xinyu said.

”So, only those twin sisters have had this illness?” Seeing Qin Xinyu nod, Beisitian continued, ”Could Mr. Qin introduce me to them?”

Qin Xinyu looked troubled, ”It might not be convenient. The illness is already a sensitive matter for the parties involved. We should consider their feelings.”

Indeed, this hereditary illness only affects twins once in a generation. Knowing this, Beisitian was even more sure that he was lying!

Because she was standing right in front of him, and he didn’t recognize her at all!

Why was this person lying, and what was his purpose?

Beisitian maintained a neutral expression, ”That’s unfortunate. How much does Mr. Qin know about this illness?”

Qin Xinyu thought for a moment, ”It’s about the same as the difficult cases left at the exchange meeting. However, to my knowledge, that young master from the Shi family has never traveled abroad. How could he get such a case? It’s baffling unless he came into contact with someone during that time.”

Qin Xinyu looked at Beisitian with a gentle smile, an expression of doubt and curiosity on his face.

Yet, Beisitian clearly felt his probing intent; he was suspicious of her purpose.

”If I could meet the person who provided this case, maybe we could have a discussion,” Qin Xinyu said with a smile.

Implying he was only willing to talk with the person who provided the case initially.

Beisitian slightly frowned. Was he also questioning her identity?
