Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 134: Chapters 94-95: Seeking Out/Sparring Practice_4

”Alright, I got it. Tomorrow, I will have Uncle Yuan call Mr. Yu. You can rearrange the seating as you wish.” Yang Xing looked at Ye Xuan: ”However, I want to tell you that this compromise is because I don’t want Luo Ye to be in a difficult position, not because I am afraid of you.

And, I won’t give up. If you’re not reassured, just stay by Luo Ye’s side every day.” Having said that, he got up and went back to his room.

”Ye, now that Xingxing has done this, are you satisfied?” Wang Liqing’s face looked really upset. When had her son ever been humiliated like this? She didn’t think her son did anything wrong. Using some tactics for the sake of opportunity was perfectly normal.

”That’s fine, then we won’t disturb you anymore.” Ye Xuan stood up, holding Luo Ye: ”Mayor Yang, I wrongly accused you just now, and I apologize, but I hope you can have a good talk with your son. Some things don’t just require persistence. Ye belongs to me, and whoever tries to snatch her from me, just be prepared to face the consequences. Oh, and you might want to find out more about what kind of person I, Ye Xuan, am, to avoid regrets later.”

”Husband, isn’t he... isn’t he too domineering?” Wang Liqing watched as the tall figure tightly holding Luo Ye walked out, dumbstruck.

”Indeed quite domineering, but he indeed has the qualifications to be domineering. I had the old man check his background today,” Yang Songping sighed heavily: ”As long as he really wants Luo Ye, Xingxing absolutely isn’t his match. Actually, my playing chess with Xingxing was just a chance to talk to him. If it won’t work, just let go. That person was right, some things don’t just require persistence!”

Wang Liqing wiped away tears angrily: ”It’s all your fault, you previously encouraged our son to pursue Luo Ye, which made our son get serious, and now look what’s happened. Well, anyway, I still think Xiao Yang is better.

Luo Ye is indeed prettier than Xiao Yang and has a deeper background, but if my son ends up with her, he’ll probably have to cater to her forever. If it’s Xiao Yang, she would surely comply with our son for life. I’m his mother, and all I want is for my son to be happy.”

”Long hair but short of insights, weren’t you also quite assertive and not accommodating to me before we were married? What about now?” Yang Xing glared at his wife: ”I warn you, don’t say such things in front of our son. As a descendent of the Yang Family, the family’s interests come above everything else, do you understand?”

”Do you also want to say that your favorite woman can be kept outside? Don’t think I don’t know about your actions, I just don’t want to expose it!” Wang Liqing wiped her face: ”Forget it, at this age, I’m too lazy to argue with you.”

Yang Songping waved his hand: ”I can’t bother with this woman’s nonsensical talk, it’s like talking to a lunatic. I better go and talk some sense into our son.”

Wang Liqing chuckled sadly: ”Really? Then why are you in such a hurry to leave?”

”Nonsensical!”

...

The dim light stretched their shadows long, Luo Ye cleared her throat uncomfortably several times, then Ye Xuan chuckled lightly: ”Are you thirsty or did you catch a cold?”

”Neither, Brother Ye, thank you. But...” Luo Ye hesitated for a moment: ”I wanted to make a small suggestion—that maybe you could be a bit more subtle in the future?”

”More subtle?” Ye Xuan, amused, looked at Luo Ye’s blushing face: ”Did my words embarrass Ye?”

”Yes!” Mou Ye admitted unabashedly since this man was incredibly clever, and she saw no point in pretense.

”But if I didn’t say it that way, he would continue to harass you. Helping you block his paths was what you wanted, right? Or did I misunderstand?” Ye Xuan annoyingly slapped his forehead: ”I see, deep down, Ye still hopes that Yang Xing will pay more attention, shall I go back and explain?”

”Come back!” Luo Ye quickly grabbed him, her face drawn tight: ”You know that’s not what I mean. Do you find it fun to tease me? Just because you’re handsome, do you think you’re amazing? Just because your family is wealthy, can you treat us like nothing?...” Mou Ye criticized him incoherently, tears flowing freely, and she eventually became inconsolable.

”Ye, I’m wrong, I’m wrong, please don’t cry, if your uncle and aunt see this, they’ll think I’m bullying you. Sweetie, it’s all my fault, I shouldn’t have spoken carelessly. How about you hit me to take out your anger?” Ye Xuan was temporarily at a loss; this was his first time placating a girl, and he still couldn’t understand which of his words had triggered this deluge.

”What’s the use of hitting you? You’re tough like iron; you wouldn’t even feel the pain.” Mou Ye, sobbing, felt extremely wronged. Maybe her crying could be seen as an angry outburst; since coming here, she had been very confident, but now she had to rely on Ye Xuan to resolve things, which had struck a blow to her pride.

”What should I do then? Should I hit myself?” Ye Xuan continued to placate: ”That would look a bit silly though, people who don’t know might think I’m a lunatic, right?”

”Do you think you’re invincible?” Luo Ye blurted out, then quickly covered it up: ”To earn forgiveness, you can teach me a few tricks.”

”Alright, what kind of tricks do you want to learn?” Ye Xuan breathed a sigh of relief, pleased there was room for negotiation since stopping this little ancestor from crying was more important than anything. If he had to go back with red eyes, Jiang Zheng would probably eat him alive.

”Forget it, I won’t learn tricks from you for now. How about we spar for a bit, and you give me some guidance? Is that okay?” Luo Ye reconsidered and made a request.

”Sure, but with your small physique, if I punched you and you fell down, how would we continue to spar?” Ye Xuan sized up Luo Ye, finding it somewhat amusing.

”Jeez, can’t you just control it a bit? I’m definitely no match for you, but aren’t you supposed to instruct rather than compete to the death with me? Really, how can you be so foolish sometimes?” Mou Ye grumbled as she led the way to the training field, a resigned Ye Xuan following with a rueful smile, still unclear who was helping or owing whom.

”Ye, let me test your strength first, so I don’t accidentally hurt you.” Ye Xuan stood ready and extended his hand: ”Let’s arm wrestle to get an idea.”

”Alright, start then, you attack.”

At that moment, Mou Ye felt extremely embarrassed; she used all her might, and he easily overpowered her, confirming that she had indeed been overly confident. The legendary guy really was extraordinary.
