Chapter 828: Chapter 811: Touring the Sacred Land

”Steady, Lambert. Don’t let your hand slip.”

Geralt was fastening the saddle buckle, teasing lightly without expression.

”If this thing gets muddy, you’d be working for nothing for two months.”

Lambert wasn’t someone who gets flustered over money.

He’s worked for high-ranking nobles and big merchants, and has seen them consume his annual income in one meal.

That sight was even more astonishing than this silk rune cloth.

But before those employers, he remains cheeky and satirical, full of sarcasm.

If an employer dared to glare at him, he’d spread his hands and say ’Find someone better.’

What truly astonished him now was: This was an honest Demon Hunter, earning assets through skill without doing dirty work.

He never thought that a Demon Hunter living with such ’boring moral beliefs’ could have this kind of life.

’Boring moral beliefs,’ this was the common personality Vesemir cultivated for their Wolf School.

Lambert always despised this, so he often clashed with Vesemir.

Yet, he’s indeed taught by Vesemir; he can’t escape this.

Despite disdain toward this, when something happens on the road, he’ll grumble and intervene.

His life is quite awkward.

But now, Lann showed him another possibility.

Ciri watched with shining eyes as the Qilin gradually donned its harness.

From a noble and untamed wild creature to a majestic and mysterious dignified steed.

Sintra is a country famous for valuing martial prowess.

Whether in the former or latter state, the Qilin’s appearance greatly delighted this Princess of Sintra.

Moreover, this was Lann’s steed...

Ciri cautiously approached, reaching out; looks like she wanted to touch the Qilin’s mane and scale armor.

But before she could touch the Qilin’s hoof, which still had azure electric currents flickering, Lann reached out and stopped her.

”Not now, Ciri.”

With fingers tapping her forehead, he nudged her away.

”You’re still too young; the Qilin can’t even notice you. Its lightning is no joke.”

The little girl covered her head, pouting and showing her teeth, looking at Lann, who had pushed her away.

The young Demon Hunter found this scene somewhat amusing.

At the previous Crossroads Inn, the grown-up Ciri seemed to have some thoughts about him.

Yet Lann couldn’t reconcile that strong and assertive beautiful woman with the little brat he saw now.

That woman’s ’threat,’ in Lann’s eyes, wasn’t alarming.

Whatever happens naturally, time... perhaps even the legendary Ancient Blood can’t foresee completely?

He mounted the Qilin, which seemed to snort in response to Geralt fastening the buckle too tightly.

The ”Whinny” was accompanied by lightning near white in color.

However, these lightnings were constrained under the large silk rune cloth.

Even so, Geralt quickly put hands to his chest and cautiously stepped back.

”Whoa, whoa... I didn’t mean it, pal.”

Geralt explained to the Qilin in a calm tone, sounding practiced, as if he’s used to talking to ’Roach’ like this too.

Lann turned the Qilin’s head back.

”We’ll see each other in Gos Velen then, Geralt.”

”Yes, see you in Gos Velen, Lann.”

Geralt also bid farewell; he already knew the Grandmaster arrangement within his school, and didn’t mind the arrangement.

”I’m leaving too, meow!”

In Lann’s arms, Rong Buqiu stood up, waving at the others.

Others have grown fond of this diligent and self-disciplined kitty and responded warmly.

”Ciri, next time we meet, I’ll have completely mastered the Light Body Skill, meow! Don’t fall behind!”

Not only is Rong Buqiu self-disciplined, but it also likes taking Ciri along, which Geralt and Vesemir are pleased to see.

After all, this greatly stirred Ciri’s competitiveness.

Her grandmother is Sintra’s Lioness, and Ciri inherited that fiery spirit unwilling to lose.

”Hear me, Rong Buqiu! I’ll improve too; don’t talk as if you’ve left me behind already!”

Now, this indomitable spirit manifested well.

Lann nodded slightly in farewell to the people sending off, graceful and assured.

Then lightly tugged at the Qilin’s mane, headed for the fortress gates of Ker Morhan.

-----------------

Without Belengar leading the way and accommodating his pace, Qilin, though carrying a rider, couldn’t unleash full speed.

Yet its efficiency was several times faster than when they came.

Originally a month-long journey, thanks to Qilin ignoring terrain by crossing rivers and hills directly, took only two days.

But this time, Lann didn’t return to Gos Velen, where Airetusa is, but reached Black Seagull Island on Vizima Lake before the Chaos Magic Power tide arrived.

”Meow... Meow!”

Rong Buqiu, rare in principle, removed its armor in the non-rest state outside.

It wobbled down shakily from Qilin’s back, short legs trembling.

”Lann, how about we... go slower next time, meow?”

Though fast, Qilin’s turbulence would likely bounce someone with poor constitution to death.

The Qilin’s Ancient Dragon physique could indeed cross rivers and traverse mountains.

But for those on its back, every gallop was akin to crashing into Ancient Dragon flesh and organs swaying.

This is why Lann has never thought of experiencing ”Lightning Flash” on Qilin’s back.

Lann held Rong Buqiu’s little paw, placing it on the ground, then dismounted with a pale face.

Lann grimaced, looking at the Qilin pretending oblivious.

This creature seemed to have grown wild... Later, it’s definitely being kicked to the Golden Lion for education!

The Lady of the Lake was not on Black Seagull Island, and there seem to be more tour boats on Vizima Lake than usual besides the regular ferries.

This lake, located near the Temerian Capital, with locals often looking at it, surrounded by stinking and treacherous marshes.

Previously, Lann never saw too many cruise ships on Vizima Lake.

However, predicting navigational developments on Vizima Lake with ’normal’ logic, Lann wasn’t optimistic.

But now, numerous small tour boats drift among lotus and lilies on the lake, carrying turbaned madams, fanning maidens, lute-holding minstrels, and handsome knights.

As if Vizima Lake had truly become a charming and classy tourist destination.
