Bear School Astartes

Chapter 827: Chapter 810: Departure

But the strong aura doesn’t affect the personality of the Qilin itself.

Previously, Lambert and Geralt were still on guard under the thunderclouds, never having seen a Qilin, they almost felt their scalp tingle.

However, when this noble steed truly appeared on the city walls, chewing on acorns, it was as calm and leisurely as a capybara feeding.

The actions of the Qilin cut the awe brought by its racial talent at least in half.

Lann approached the Qilin and checked it over.

Ensuring this creature hadn’t provoked those formidable beings hidden within the Blue Mountain, nor was affected by curses or magic.

”So you’ve been just running around these days? Didn’t do anything?”

Lann’s left hand emitted a cold white magical glow, constructing a communication bridge between humans and the Ancient Dragon using a variant of [Yakxi Rune] learned from the Griffin School.

”There’s a lot of tasty stuff, more the more I wander. Also found fun places I’ve never seen before. Fights aren’t fun, so I ran away.”

The Qilin tilted its head, looking at Lann, sending simple messages through its thoughts.

It seems that even in the Blue Mountain, it hasn’t completely avoided encountering the ’tough deals’ of this world, but it chose to use its [Blink of Lightning] to escape because it didn’t want to fight.

Of course, its appearance remains noble, proud, and stern as always.

Its elegance is so charming that Ciri’s eyes below shine brightly.

The Qilin’s breath sprayed from its moist large nostrils onto Lann’s face, forcing the Demon Hunter to use his hand to push away its azure horn.

Lann pursed his lips and subconsciously wiped the side of his face that had just been sprayed by the Qilin’s breath.

Anyway, the Qilin originally accompanied Lann on his travels because it wanted to learn from the Golden Lion in the future. But after discovering new places, its enthusiasm lasted only a few days before it turned to eating, drinking, and having fun...

The bold statements resonate, only to find it lying on the bed when looking around... Lann almost thinks he’s raising a college student.

No choice, Lann is now quite troubled about how to motivate this guy.

Maybe let the Golden Lion give it a thrashing again?

”I’m leaving in a few days, don’t cause trouble during this period.”

Lann shook his head, finally saying reluctantly.

The Qilin nonchalantly nodded, it only wanted to play and didn’t care about causing trouble.

The check on his steed’s condition quickly concluded.

After some time, Lann finally memorized all the knowledge from the basement.

Logically, with bio-intelligence, he should be able to remember things instantly.

But those warlocks, when recording knowledge, were really worried that others could understand it.

Secret codes and cryptic languages flooded the place.

To prevent these riddles from linking to phenomena that can only be observed in Ker Morhan, there’s only bewilderment left after leaving.

Lann could only work together with Mentos to decode everything before the record was complete.

During this process, Lann also initially formed a conceptual approach to utilizing [Alzus Cross].

Ultimately his abilities didn’t falter before Alzur’s wisdom.

How to reproduce the parts needed from the [Cross] magic in the form of alchemy, the entire ritual and procedure took shape in Lann’s mind.

Just awaiting a few experiments to fine-tune and validate his ideas.

The experimental conditions for this... certainly couldn’t be achieved in Ker Morhan.

So, after everything was well-prepared, Lann once again called the Qilin using a ring.

That day, everyone in Ker Morhan came out to see him off, except for Belengar, who was out hunting. This guy had met Lann too many times, so he felt indifferent to the occasion.

Between two distant mountain peaks, dark thunderclouds once again squeezed out all other clouds, rolling towards the sky above Ker Morhan.

A very oppressive scene astonishing Vesemir, while Geralt and Lambert still furrowed their brows.

Even though they’ve seen the Qilin and know the noble steed carries no ill intent, the crisis sense of the Demon Hunters wasn’t under their subjective control.

”Damn it.” Lambert’s foul mouth was stable, his mouth twitching. ”Now I start to believe those stories might be true.”

”What stories?” Lann crossed his arms next to him, watching Lambert as though enjoying some show.

”Those exaggerated battlefield legends and what the minstrels say... Honestly, you’ve almost been described as a demigod on earth.”

”I hadn’t met the Qilin back then, though.”

”Whether you met it or not, those minstrels will strip pants and slap their own butts to earn money, do they care about making things up? The plots they craft are more exaggerated than this steed.”

Lambert shrugged as he spoke.

Beside him, Geralt had a peculiar expression, opening his mouth then closing it again.

He seemed hesitant with the urge to speak.

He conveniently has a friend who’s a minstrel, none other than the well-known bard—Dandelion.

Due to an obligation of friendship, he subconsciously felt he should offer some clarification.

But recalling this friend’s ridiculous, licentious love history and playful style... he hardly had any valid rebuttal.

This time, the Qilin entered Ker Morhan’s interior, landing lightly from the city wall like an elf with a spark.

’Lann, they seem quite afraid of me.’

The Qilin snorted lightly from its nostrils, shaking its mane on its neck.

’It’s their first time meeting.’ Lann approached and patted the Qilin’s head, communicating with it. ”Fearing Ancient Dragons is normal, even in your homeland.”

The Qilin casually shook its head, it didn’t care about the attitudes of other ’little people’.

But under Lann’s request, it still retracted its wild electric aura and connection to the external natural environment.

The abruptly created thunderclouds dissipated under the Qilin’s deliberate control, immediately making Ker Morhan sunny again.

Lann took out a magic horse harness from the alchemy pouch, ready to re-equip the Qilin.

”Let me help!”

Lambert rubbed his hands and walked over.

It seemed his curiosity outweighed his intention to help.

Geralt, though appearing taciturn, quietly approached as well.

Although gearing up a horse is indeed a troublesome task, Lann’s physique and strength give him an advantage in such activities.

But since there’s someone to help, even if just driven by curiosity, Lann had no reason to refuse.

So Geralt and Lambert together helped hang Lann’s harness onto the Qilin.

Lambert tugged on the wide silk rune cloth, tenderly and cautiously as though touching a woman’s skin.

”Meretelli... ”

He said tremblingly.

”This piece of rune cloth could sustain me for two years! The texture, the craftsmanship...”
