Chapter 824: Chapter 807: Learning Progress

Previously, Lann and Mentos had imagined a plan.

It was to emulate the powerful natural organs of the monsters from the magical natural world where Rong Buqiu resides.

To adjust the enhancement surgery for his Interstellar Warrior.

Like the regenerative abilities of the Extinct Dragon, which warrior would say ’no’ to the power that allows them to fight without restraint?

Like the brutal and unmatchable muscles of the Golden Lion, which warrior can say ’no’ to the absolute power of that dark beast?

Currently, Lann has actually analyzed a biological organ of the Fierce Claw Barbarian Jaws Dragon—the secretion gland of the Fierce Claw Barbarian Jaws Dragon.

The idea sounds wonderful though, integrating powerful organs from the monster world into one’s own body.

But how to actually operate this?

You surely can’t go through the trouble and risk of hunting a Golden Lion, then crudely remove your own muscles and attach its muscles to your body, right?

Even if Lann does analyze the special organs of those powerful monsters in the future, how can these things become his strength?

Crude and ugly splicing certainly doesn’t match Lann’s taste.

It’s neither perfect nor artistic.

And now, the Alzus Cross has brought a completely new perspective.

The technique of integration and unification of biological features in this spell greatly inspired Lann.

Of course, he didn’t expect to cast this magic himself, but extracting experience from the casting ideas of this magic, and then extending this experience and ideas to his specialty in Alchemy, to achieve the magic effect within limits using Alchemy... Lann is confident in that.

After all, he doesn’t need to be like Alzur, creating such terrifying creatures and then figuring out how to nurture, locate, constrain, and summon it in the Otherworld.

Without those considerations, the casting threshold for this giant spell can be significantly lowered.

”It seems the learning focus is now clear.”

The young Demon Hunter murmured in the dim, flickering firelight of the dark underground study.

In this long-abandoned basement, only the mummified corpses trapped in cages remained quietly in the orange-tinted dim firelight.

The sound echoed, turning into a whisper-like ’rustling’ in the far side of the basement.

Lann’s passion for learning was not disturbed at all by this eerie and uncanny environment.

On the contrary, his eyes were getting brighter and brighter out of the desire for knowledge and excitement.

”Learning projects established, learning process is being drafted, please wait...”

The biochemical mind in his brain was, as always, timely and reliable.

Mentos and Lann reached a consensus on Alzus Cross, and a waterfall of data streams began to scroll down from the corners of Lann’s vision.

Finally, under Mentos’ computational power, a scientific and meticulous learning process was established.

This was precisely its most proficient main function.

”Learning process completed. For stage one learning, please move two bookshelves over, from the third to the seventeenth book on the second row. These books will lay the first solid foundation for your theoretical study of Alzus Cross. Afterwards...”

Guided by a phased, gradual learning strategy, Mentos selected a series of book lists for the main subject to review.

For each book, it annotated whether it requires full understanding or just a simple grasp of the concept.

Good learning methods are the guarantee of efficiency.

Lann also picked up the long-unseen vigor he once had under Mentos’ plan, beginning from the basics to understand this renowned giant magic.

-----------------

Life at Ker Morhan was regular and monotonous, yet very peaceful, like the cold mist on the distant mountains and the pine forest shrouded in it.

Which made the tranquility feel perpetual.

Lann immersed himself in front of the bookshelves in the basement for at least half a day.

He could only be seen during meals and morning routines guiding Ciri and Rong Buqiu’s morning exercise.

The Iwami style is not known for complexity but is instead a representative of practicality and ease of learning.

Because Iwami Yixin, who created this technique system, has such a personality.

So, Ciri and Rong Buqiu’s learning progress seemed promising.

Their breathing, although not maintained at the level of ’trunk breathing’ at all times, had reached the stage where ’as long as they were conscious of needing to use it, adjusting for a moment or two would get them into the state.’

They had completely memorized the rhythm and technique of breathing, with only practice over a long period left to improve proficiency.

And based on ’trunk breathing,’ Lann also began to teach them the core of the Iwami style swordsmanship techniques—’Ascending Koi’ and ’Descending Koi.’

Those visually impressive Qi Flow Blades, remarkably powerful ’Horizontal Cut’ and ’Cross Cut,’ are just minor moves.

’Ascending Koi,’ using precise defense to use counterforces to destabilize the enemy’s stance. Also, ’Descending Koi,’ directly attacking to destabilize the enemy’s stance.

This is the core fighting strategy of this technical system.

It’s a technique that allows even those small and weak to continuously gain advantages through skill in combat, ultimately making the enemy produce significant openings.

Very suitable for the situation of Ciri and Rong Buqiu.

”Pay attention to the breathing rhythm!”

Lann loudly reminded from outside the training field, like a coach.

And in the training field, Rong Buqiu used its low stance advantage to swing the small wooden sword in its hand towards Ciri’s shinbone.

If that swing landed, even a burly adult man would probably clutch his shin and wail on the ground for a while.

’Thud.’

However, the attack from the Three-Floral Kitten did not succeed, as Ciri agilely pointed the tip of the wooden sword in her hand downward, blocking it in front of her shin.

The long and short wooden swords clashed, and the splinters and dust jolted loose between them were scattered into a ring shape due to their unique skills clashing.

After a blow, both the person and the cat seemed to have been hit by tremendous impact, each taking a big step back, but maintaining their respective stances stable.

However, it was obvious that Rong Buqiu’s ’trunk breathing’ was more proficient than Ciri, so it adjusted its body state slightly earlier.

After being knocked back by the impact, almost in the next moment, it could immediately restart its body and counterattack again!

”Meow!”

The leaping Rong Buqiu went up, aiming to strike downward at Ciri’s head with the small wooden sword.

But this leaping action clearly wasted time, allowing Ciri to use ’trunk breathing’ to stabilize her center of gravity and promptly swing the wooden sword to perform a horizontal slash at Rong Buqiu mid-air!
