Chapter 825: Chapter 808: Sparring

It seemed that the floating Rong Buqiu in mid-air was unavoidable.

Ciri thought so too, her lips involuntarily showing a happy smile.

But unfortunately... Rong Buqiu was just teasing the kids.

Originally, with nothing to leverage in the air, Rong Buqiu suddenly became very floaty.

It was as if its black, white, and orange fur suddenly exploded into a large dandelion mid-air.

A solid cat turning into a ’dandelion’ would certainly appear floaty, unable to land.

The wooden sword that Ciri was supposed to horizontally strike at Rong Buqiu’s waist in mid-air, also due to this change in ’texture’, swung straight past below Rong Buqiu’s little paws.

But the calico cat wasn’t just focused on dodging.

It grabbed the little wooden sword with its front paw and tapped on Ciri’s horizontally swinging wooden sword.

After gaining a simple leverage point, the cat’s flexible waist twisted.

Its furry tail brushed across Ciri’s face with a ’whoosh’.

The little girl let out an ”ouch,” as her wide eyes, opened in excitement, got swept by the cat fur on Rong Buqiu’s tail.

In the midst of her yelp, the little girl momentarily let go of the sword, hurriedly covering her eyes as she retreated.

Following that, with a creak from the wooden board, Ciri wobbled and fell down.

One person and one cat were having their fight on the wooden board where Ciri trained before.

After Ciri fell, Rong Buqiu quickly ran to the edge of the board to look down.

The board was two to three meters off the ground. Falling without protection could end fatally if one was unlucky.

Moreover, Lann had just removed the straw pile under the board a few days ago.

And as Rong Buqiu grabbed the rope suspending the board, and looked down from the side, it composedly smoothed its whiskers with a paw, then scratched its ear.

Below the board, Ciri, covering her eyes, was like Rong Buqiu earlier.

During the fall, it was as though her ’texture’ had changed, and she gained a lot of buoyancy out of thin air.

Though she was still falling, the falling speed had already become manageable.

With a slight ”thud,” Ciri in mid-air used her waist strength to complete a rotation, with her little boots touching the ground first, landing lightly and safely.

”You can’t do it this way, meow.”

Rong Buqiu, still clutching the rope that lifted the board, spoke to Ciri below.

”How can you drop your weapon because of pain during a fight, meow?”

”But it was too sudden! It’s not fair! I don’t have a tail!”

Ciri kept rubbing her eyes. It seemed Rong Buqiu’s tail sweep made her both sore and itchy.

”But if you really want to work like a Demon Hunter, in the future you’ll not only face monsters with tails but also encounter Tomb Witches with a person-long tongue that’s also poisonous, as well as armoured Anglade and Crab Spiders.”

From outside, Lann spoke lightly towards her.

”What? When facing those creatures, do you plan to drop your sword just because your eyes feel sore and itchy, even before losing sight?”

Lann’s tone wasn’t harsh, so Ciri didn’t feel like she was being scolded as under Lambert’s training.

So, she just wiped her eyes again, stuck out her tongue at Lann, and then picked up the wooden sword Rong Buqiu kicked down, climbing back towards the hanging board.

The Light Body Technique Breathing Method was taught by Lann to both Rong Buqiu and Ciri.

However, ninja techniques, after all, involve more twists and turns than warrior swordsmanship, so Rong Buqiu and Ciri could only use it for a short moment in critical times like now.

Nonetheless, for their mobility improvement, it was already significant.

Sparring between Rong Buqiu and Ciri was more like guidance, and after this, it would have extra practice.

Belengar crafted decent weapons tailored for Rong Buqiu.

A small cat sword with a silver-plated Valerian steel core, and another full Valerian steel small cat sword that faintly glimmered with a blue current.

The appearances of these two swords clearly took reference from the Demon Hunter gear.

When carried on Rong Buqiu’s back, it almost looked like a small cat Demon Hunter.

However, when Belengar handed the gear to Rong Buqiu, he obviously didn’t look too pleased.

Muttering, ”What a waste... Miscalculated... Next time definitely...” with incoherent words.

Lann felt that some materials from a Qilin were probably used on Rong Buqiu’s steel sword.

Belengar seemed to be exploring the craftsmanship of the monster world.

But the results didn’t look promising.

This is quite normal, given the superior conditions on the other side, and the many years of research; if Belengar could easily decipher it, it would be of low value.

But if there’s a chance in the future, maybe Belengar could be taken there for a look.

With his level of forging, perhaps he could make some breakthroughs in the monster world’s technical field?

After all, even the phase two expedition team leader of the New Continent Expedition Team spoke highly of Belengar’s craftsmanship.

From the wall of Kaer Morhen nearby the training ground, there was a sound of ”clang, clang, clang.”

That was Geralt sparring with Lambert.

After Lambert received his new sword, he looked full of energy with no place to use it.

Every few days he would cut back and forth with Geralt; it’s fortunate that the Demon Hunters have all practiced for tens of years as seasoned swordsmen, always exercising caution.

Otherwise, with such frequent duels, even if friendly, an accident could lead to blood spill.

Belengar casually watched with Vesemir leaning against the stone brick wall.

One had long lost interest in sword dueling, effectively retired. The other’s experience was so deep that although having two good swords was delightful, it didn’t shake his mood much.

Seeing Lann walking over, Belengar waved, while Vesemir called out.

”Come here, kid.”

The three of them gathered together.

”When do you plan to leave?”

Vesemir’s opening question raised Lann’s eyebrows in surprise.

”You noticed?”

”What did you expect? I’ve seen this look on you, Lann, plenty of times.”

Vesemir said slowly with his hands on his hips.

”Those warlocks have the same expression when they’ve made discoveries or progress in their research. Eyes get brighter, often lost in thought, as if considering things while walking... Seems like you learned quite a bit in the basement.”

”That’s how you’ve been for the past couple of days.”

”The knowledge in that basement indeed yielded me a lot.” Lann admitted frankly.

”I’m now eager to start experimenting, but although Kaer Morhen offers a great, quiet environment, it’s ultimately inconvenient when it comes to alchemy equipment.”
