Chapter 383: 383. Resonance Bell

”A passing foreigner.”

Lann spoke after a brief pause.

”I’ve come from a very distant place, even further than time itself. I’ll leave when it’s time to go, and the time here probably can’t trap me.”

Crow Hunter Erin listened quietly, neither surprised nor questioning.

On this night, no matter what strange and bizarre things happen, they’re not surprising enough.

”Then why don’t you quietly wait for your ’time to leave’ to arrive? With your skills, even in a place like Yan’an, hiding for a while shouldn’t be a problem.”

”Because of the Ancient God,” Lann replied straightforwardly.

”Having mastered the power of time, and those strange and bizarre Ancient God’s Blood... I must ensure these things don’t follow me when I leave. Simply put, my existence is like a filter.”

”People living outside of Yan’an don’t want their homes to become a second Yan’an, can you understand?”

Due to the ’advanced effectiveness’ of blood healing, the Yan Nan People always look down on foreigners, seeing them as country bumpkins coming to take advantage of the city.

But in the eyes of someone like Lann, who doesn’t need blood healing, staying away from Yan’an is a normal decision.

Fortunately, Erin is also an outsider, so she understands this sentiment.

”Then go ahead with your plan, distant foreign hunter.”

Under the bird-beak mask, Erin smiled indifferently.

”Having one more person means one more possibility to break the cycle... Although I don’t hold much hope for it.”

Preliminary negotiation was completed.

Although Lann didn’t establish a particularly good relationship with the other party, at least the alignment of their positions was confirmed.

This is the basis for mutual assistance.

”Take this.”

From beneath her pitch-black feathered cloak, Erin threw a small Shaking Bell to Lann.

Lann easily and accurately caught the small bell’s handle in midair.

But strangely, despite spinning at least two and a half times in the air, the bell hardly made a sound.

Seeing the Demon Hunter’s puzzlement, Erin explained slightly.

”A Resonance Bell, considered a kind of summoning tool. It allows respondents to be summoned in spirit form to provide assistance. It’s one of the discoveries hunters made in the dungeon mazes, said to have a sound that can cross dimensions.”

”If you run into trouble, I will help if I have the time.”

The sound crossing dimensions... Lann chuckled softly.

If it were before he’d seen so many strange things in Yan’an, this little bell might have left him flabbergasted.

But now, he’s become somewhat accustomed to such things.

”Thank you, I’ll accept it. Speaking of help, why don’t we exchange information first?”

Lann placed the bell into the Alchemy Pouch at his back and said to Erin.

”I thought the Healing Church would have the deepest understanding and most comprehensive knowledge of the Ancient Gods. But now, it seems the Healing Church was founded by scholars from Byron Vis, where Ancient God research truly originated. The stasis of time is probably related to Ancient Gods, and I want to visit there. Do you know how to get there?”

Lann’s logic was clear, following the thread of investigating Ancient Gods all the way.

”Byron Vis?” The Crow Hunter shook her head slightly.

”You can’t get through, Byron Vis has long been sealed off. It’s watched over by Master William’s loyal servant. Though he went mad during one of the dungeon explorations, he remains infatuated with his master, following orders without question. Without the opening password, the phrase passed down by the Healing Church, the door won’t open for anyone.”

Erin’s tone was somewhat regretful. As a sober hunter, she had long wanted to visit Byron Vis.

But the door had been tampered with by the scholars; brute force couldn’t possibly open it.

Yet the Demon Hunter blinked slightly after listening.

”Oh, the phrase...”

”I got it.”

Erin was not surprised: ”Hmm, so even getting there is difficult, let alone...”

Halfway through, the bird-beak mask seemed to just realize something and turned sharply to Lann: ”Hmm?!”

”I went to learn from the church’s agent, but she transformed in front of me, so I hacked her, and got it just like that.”

The Demon Hunter said, taking out the golden pendant from the Alchemy Pouch, spreading it in his palm and handing it to Erin.

The Crow Hunter took it, scrutinizing the engraved words on the pendant.

”In awe of Ancient God’s Blood... This really is... I never thought of killing the church’s agent to obtain the password.”

She, after all, worked under the Healing Church, and the option to hunt a church agent was hardly noticeable in her mind.

Erin told Lann the route to Byron Vis, and at the same time noted that in repeated cycles of time rewinding, she seemed to have never delved deep into those church places.

Because in normal hunting, she would never go to these places, so by now, they had become her blind spots.

’Maybe I should stroll around near the Great Cathedral, perhaps I’ll find something, or let those hunters who lost their minds in those places rest.’

She thought to herself.

Lann and Erin each decided to venture into different areas to seek clues, hopefully making some progress.

”Oh, by the way.”

Before Erin left, Lann suddenly called out to her.

”What is it?”

”Do you know such a place in Yan’an?”

Lann briefly described the dream he was dragged into when he fell asleep.

This dream occurred in Yan’an, so there should at least be a prototype, or an integration of several prototypes.

And as he expected, it was even more straightforward than his most optimistic prediction. The Crow Hunter, interrupted him almost halfway through his description, immediately after he finished describing the appearance of the garden and chapel.

”The Hunter Workshop? How do you know of this place? It was hidden away by the malice of the Yan Nan People after the age of heroes among hunters ended. That was a long time ago indeed.”

Lann said calmly.

”On this night, strange and ancient things seem to pop up as if in a hurry, who knows what will happen next?”

Erin wasn’t too concerned either.

She gave Lann the location of the workshop, shook her cloak, and turned to leave.

It’s very close, almost next to the Oton Chapel.

So Lann didn’t hesitate much and intended to go see it directly.

The Hunter Workshop was once a place for hunters to develop and experiment with new weapons, according to Erin, where the first hunter in history was buried.

It was once bustling, with numerous hunters studying and practicing there, splitting into many factions according to combat style.

The widely spread Sawtooth Gang, the Gunpowder Barrel Gang skilled in explosives, and the heavily armed Church Hunters.

These divisions gave Lann a sense of déjà vu about the Demon Hunter School.
