The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2610: Evolution of the Paths of Power

Every day Cain spent with the women he loved felt like a blessing. The immense weight on his shoulders grew lighter, the strain on his mind and soul no longer felt suffocating, and even the endless burdens of war seemed, if only for a moment, easier to bear. Their presence was a rare and wondrous elixir for the Scarlet King, something that soothed wounds no power could heal and restored a balance he had not realized he had lost.

Unfortunately, such peace could never last.

These were times of war, and no matter how much he wished to remain by their side, reality demanded otherwise. After a few fleeting weeks, their journey together came to an end. The farewell was not filled with grand speeches or empty reassurances, but with a long, silent embrace that carried more meaning than words ever could. Cain held them close, committing every expression, every detail, to memory. Then, slowly, he let go.

Moments later, he stood alone in the void.

There was no one at his side, yet the lives of countless civilizations and four Empyrean Worlds depended on him. Cain had never desired leadership. It was an immense burden, one that drained the mind and forced him to focus not on his own growth, but on the survival and strength of others. Yet with Anark gone, there was no one else capable of bearing that responsibility and seeing it through to the end.

His gaze drifted toward the Golden Hall, where he sensed familiar presences.

His sons, Rylanor and Magnus.

They had grown tremendously during his absence. Their cultivation had already reached the Middle Alpha Omega Overgod Rank, and thanks to their innate connection to the Primordial Path and the Flow, their battle power had risen to the Half-Step Alpha Omega Overgod level. In recent battles, they had taken command of massive Runic War Avatars, clashing head-on with Champions of the Root. It was clear they had pushed themselves beyond their limits again and again, driven by a desire to prove their worth.

Cain felt a quiet pride as he watched them.

But that pride was tempered by reality.

Family time was over, and it would be a long while before he could afford such moments again.

“Ah… the sacrifices just keep accumulating,” Cain murmured softly.

The sigh faded as his expression sharpened, his attention shifting toward the Everstrife Empyrean World.

The last time he had stood here, his homeworld had been a testament to strength, a realm where power reigned supreme and where the Scarlet King’s influence stood unchallenged. Now, as Cain harmonized with the emotions of its inhabitants, he felt something entirely different.

Fear.

Dread.

Uncertainty.

These emotions ran deep, permeating every corner of the world. The Everstrife Empyrean World had become a sanctuary for the survivors of two Empyrean Worlds devoured by the Root. For those refugees, there was no such thing as safety. Their homes had been consumed, their past erased, and even in this new refuge, the shadow of destruction loomed over them.

Even the original inhabitants were shaken.

Their world had been attacked. Their king had been ambushed and taken. Time and time again, they had faced the advance of the Worlds of the Root and the Curse Eaters. Not everyone was a warrior, nor did everyone walk the path of cultivation. Many were too young, too weak, or simply unprepared to face the horrors lurking in the void.

They had seen those horrors.

They had witnessed abominations descending upon them, eager to tear them apart, held back only by the warriors of the Nine Empyrean Suns Alliance.

Cain could not blame them for their fear.

Taking a deep breath, he allowed himself to fully harmonize with the ominous emotions spreading across his world. Then, without hesitation, he raised his gaze to the sun of the Everstrife Empyrean World and moved.

In an instant, he merged with it.

The blazing heat could not harm him. Instead, Cain settled into a meditative stance within the heart of the star, his Wings of Chaos unfolding behind him and expanding outward, their presence merging with the solar flames.

Across the world below, countless eyes turned toward the sky.

At first, there was confusion. Then, a flicker of fear.

But it did not last.

A gentle warmth spread across the land, carried by the scarlet light of the sun. It washed over the people, seeping into their bodies, their minds, and their souls. Slowly, their fear began to fade, not erased, but transformed.

The Power of Chaos moved through them.

It did not strip away their emotions, nor did it twist them into something unnatural, as the Power of Order might. Instead, it reached into the deepest parts of their subconscious, allowing them to understand something fundamental.

They were not alone.

There were those who would fight with everything they had to protect them. The war was far from over, but progress had been made. Victories, though costly, had been achieved. There was, despite everything, a reason to hope.

And so, fear turned into resolve.

Dread became determination.

Despair gave way to hope.

As that transformation took root, the very essence of the world responded. Streams of world energy and cosmic force rose from every corner of the Everstrife Empyrean World, converging toward the scarlet sun and flowing into Cain.

The Path of Conquest had already permeated every cell of his existence, allowing him to assimilate that energy with flawless efficiency. It surged through him, entering his heart, expanding into his Inner Universe, and coursing through his flesh and blood.

The destruction of the Worlds of the Root, the power of the 46-revolution Tribulation Enhancement, and the brutal battle with Robuke had already ignited his being with immense power. The time he had spent with his loved ones had granted him rest and clarity. Now, with this influx of energy, everything aligned.

Evolution was inevitable.

His heart trembled as the power of his Gravastar Singularity surged, pushing his Astral Rebirth Path of Power into the Late ArchDeity Rank. But that was only the beginning.

As his Astral Origin stabilized, his Inner Universe began to pulse like a living heart, expanding and evolving. Its power flooded through his energy pathways, deepening his understanding of the Laws and elevating his mastery to new heights.

Although the improvement would not result in a truly meaningful increase in his immediate battle power—after all, his strength already stood above the Half-Step Fourth Realm—it remained essential that his Paths of Power continued to evolve. Their next transformation into the Alpha Omega Overgod Rank would bring a far more significant enhancement, one that would not only elevate his raw strength but also allow him to develop techniques of far greater complexity and destructive potential.

Of course, the evolution of his Essence and Astral Paths was only part of the process. There was another Path of Power that stood on the brink of transformation.

Six Stars of Origin glowed around Cain’s forehead, each radiating immense energy and representing his ability to commune with the world and draw its power into his flesh and blood. These stars were not merely symbols, but manifestations of his connection to existence itself. The step toward becoming an Alpha Omega Overgod Primordial was monumental, a leap that, under normal circumstances, would require years to fully materialize.

Yet Cain’s situation was far from ordinary.

The Flow, with its profound resonance with the Primordial Path, had accelerated his growth beyond conventional limits. It enhanced his ability to harmonize with the world, deepening his connection to the fundamental forces of existence. Now, with an abundance of energy at his disposal and a far greater mastery over his body and the Laws, there was nothing left to hold him back.

Cain clenched his fists as power surged through him.

Wave after wave of energy coursed across his body, building toward a critical threshold. Then, at last, something within him gave way. A barrier shattered, and in that instant, a seventh Star of Origin manifested around his head.

The change was immediate.

His physical strength rose once more, but more importantly, his life force and endurance increased significantly. For the battles that awaited him, where even a single moment of weakness could prove fatal, this improvement was invaluable.

A radiant smile spread across Cain’s face as he felt the power flowing through every part of his being. His awareness turned inward, analyzing the state of his Spiritual Destiny Force. As he did, his smile widened further.

“It’s not enough to evolve another module yet,” he murmured to himself, “but I’m getting closer.”

There was satisfaction in that realization, a quiet acknowledgment of his continued growth. Yet even as he focused on his own progress, his senses extended outward.

Two figures appeared before the radiant scarlet sun.

One was an old man, the other a young man. Though their forms were different, their presence carried the same essence. Both wore gentle smiles, and their eyes were filled with respect and gratitude.

They were Ao and Aioro—the dual manifestations of the will of the Everstrife Empyrean World.
