The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2604: The real power of Cain’s Ego Eternal Path (II)

Cain’s eyes narrowed the instant he saw the axe descending toward him. In that moment, absolute focus ignited within his gaze, and the scarlet flames blazing in his pupils surged with explosive intensity.

”CLACK!”

The sharp, metallic clash echoed across the battlefield as the monstrous weapon met resistance. Yet it was not Cain’s body that halted the strike.

Robuke’s frenzied eyes widened in disbelief as he saw it—the Alter Ego of Cain had manifested, not as a distant phantom, but as a fully realized physical entity. Towering even larger than the Monster of the Root, it stood as a colossal embodiment of conquest, its chains coiling around its limbs like living weapons.

The axe, capable of cleaving a Limit Alpha Omega Overgod in half as if they were made of paper, failed to break through those chains.

The Primarch of Conquest gazed down at Robuke with a cold, ravenous smile. Without hesitation, its right arm lashed forward, tearing into the Monster of the Root’s chest and ripping away corrupted flesh. At the same instant, Cain stepped in, driving a ferocious punch into Robuke’s abdomen. The combined assault sent the abomination hurtling backward through the void.

Though the battlefield in the distance still roared with overwhelming violence, countless warriors paused for a fraction of a second, their attention drawn to this clash.

Even among beings who had learned about the horrors and miracles of the First Era, the sight before them was staggering. To reach the pinnacle of Mind Over Reality was already a near-mythical feat—but to manifest Resurrección and evoke one’s Alter Ego as a separate combatant was something else entirely.

It was terrifying. It was awe-inspiring.

What none of them perceived, however, was the immense cost. The energy Cain was expending to channel the Path of Conquest through both his flesh and his Alter Ego was staggering. Every movement, every strike, burned through vast reserves of power. Fortunately, the torrent of world energy flowing into his mind far exceeded what coursed through his body, allowing him to sustain this state without immediate collapse.

Cain and his Alter Ego exchanged a brief glance—an unspoken understanding passing between them—before both surged forward like twin scarlet meteors.

”ARGHHHH!”

Robuke roared, his dark-orange aura erupting violently as he launched himself back into the fray. Deep within, he had already accepted his fate. His path had reached its end in the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe. If he was destined to fall here, then he would drag as many enemies as possible into oblivion with him—starting with the Scarlet King.

His fist collided with the Primarch of Conquest’s claw, the impact warping space around them. At the same time, his axe met Cain’s Zero-State Spear, the clash of Nihility and Entropy against corrupted Root essence unleashing waves of destructive energy.

”ARGHH!”

Robuke roared again, forcing the Primarch back through sheer brute strength. But that moment of resistance created an opening—and Cain seized it instantly. Releasing his grip on the spear, he pivoted and delivered a devastating kick straight to Robuke’s jaw.

The impact nearly tore the Monster of the Root’s head from his body. Yet even that was not enough to stop him. Enduring the blow, Robuke retaliated immediately, swinging his axe with lethal precision.

Cain retreated just in time, though not entirely unscathed. The edge of the weapon sliced through his flesh, and the wound began to rot instantly under the corrupting influence of the Root.

Cain’s eyes sharpened. With a single thought, he obliterated the infected tissue, converting it into raw energy through the Power of Conquest. The wound sealed itself almost instantly.

Robuke’s rage intensified as he witnessed this resilience. His hatred surged, feeding his power further as he raised his axe again—but before he could strike, the Primarch of Conquest appeared like a shadow, delivering a crushing blow to the back of his skull that sent him spiraling backward.

The battle escalated.

Cain and his Alter Ego moved with flawless coordination, attacking from different angles, exploiting every blind spot. Their synergy was absolute, their strikes precise and relentless. Under the continuous influx of world energy, Cain’s reserves felt inexhaustible, and with his Samsara Immortal Body, he regenerated from damage almost instantly.

But for Robuke, the situation was growing increasingly dire.

The immense power surging through his body was not truly his own—it had been forcibly taken, devoured from others. And such stolen strength could not last. Sooner or later, it would fade, bringing with it a catastrophic backlash.

He had to end the battle quickly.

Yet he could not.

Chunks of corrupted flesh were blasted into the void as Cain and the Primarch of Conquest dismantled him piece by piece. Their attacks were relentless, precise, and merciless. No matter how fiercely Robuke fought, he was being steadily overwhelmed.

Still, nothing lasted forever.

Cain felt it—the shift within himself. The Revolution Flame in his heart flickered, then began to fade. The stream of world energy flowing into his chest weakened, no longer sustaining him as it had moments before. His ability to recklessly burn his life force and soul force faded, and his regenerative capabilities began to slow.

Worse still, the Revolution Flame within his mind would not last much longer either.

Though Cain remained confident in his victory, he understood the cost. Prolonging the battle could leave him severely weakened—and on a battlefield where entities like Nito still lurked, that was an unacceptable risk.

A cold determination settled in his eyes.

He glanced toward the Primarch of Conquest—and in that instant, a decision was made.

Drawing upon a massive reserve of psychic power, Cain ignited the full might of his Ego Eternal Path. The Primarch’s aura surged explosively, its presence becoming even more oppressive and violent.

The entity turned its gaze toward Robuke, its expression filled with madness and hunger, before vanishing in a blur.

Robuke reacted instantly, swinging his axe toward the incoming threat. But the Primarch moved with terrifying dexterity, slipping past the strike with effortless precision.

And then—

It merged into Robuke’s body.
