Reborn as an Extra

Chapter 780: In the wake of Disaster... Part-6.

Ashtel’s words carried a lot of weight in the world alliance right now as everyone was under the impression that he was the one who made the demon king and his army retreat.

Once he spoke about the matter of the information leak, everyone also calmed down and started to properly think about the matter.

Ryul and Riku, who were already against a full-on battle, also supported Ashtel’s words, and eventually all members reluctantly agreed to stop clamoring for a war just for the sake of revenge.

A new plan was soon proposed with the joint effort of everyone present in the meeting.

”With what we have agreed on with the mutual agreement of all of us is that while we all look for the traitor, we must put all of our efforts into disaster management and rescue work for now.”

”Moreover, we need to establish a strong blockade that would consist of a combined army of all the nations around the Demon Continent so that any suspicious activity from the demon race can be noticed immediately!”

The demon continent was vast, and making an army blockade around it meant positioning millions of troops in the massive oceans surrounding the entire demon continent.

Maintaining supplies and meeting all the needs of such a massive-scale army deployment was incredibly difficult, even for the world alliance.

But to prevent any mishap like now from happening again, they had to put up a temporary blockade regardless of cost until all the disaster rescue activities are completed and the world is back on track.

”Once the traitor amidst us is purged, our people will have recovered from this disaster. We will punish the demon race severely for what they have done and make them remember why they were driven almost extinct a thousand years ago!”

Hearing those words from Ashtel, everyone cheered up and nodded in satisfaction!

Seeing the situation turn out this way, Ashtel maintained his signature calm look on his face, but he felt greatly relieved in his mind.

’This is all I can do to buy time for you, Rio. Please don’t make us wait too long; the world needs a new direction and a new leader desperately.’

Ashtel knew that telling everyone about the Demon King’s legendary skill and his ability to easily see through all plans and secrets would cause instant chaos and fear in the entire world alliance.

If people found out about this ability, they would all have to live in fear that the demon race knew everything about them and they were all under the mercy of the demon race that could easily invade them all at any moment they wanted!

It was better to lie and delay the war by claiming a traitor had leaked information than to completely destroy the confidence and trust that the world alliance and its members had in themselves and each other!

’If only I was stronger... I wouldn’t need to push these heavy responsibilities of keep the world intact on a kid... Forgive me, Rio; I am incompetent and thus have no other choice but to rely on you...’

Ashtel was not weak; he even had a pseudo-blessing of the ’world’ itself that could help him fight against legendary skills, and even ’Divinity’ users like Neo couldn’t easily defeat him.

But the legendary skill ’Destined Fate’ was not any ordinary ability at all; it could easily bypass even the blessing of the ’World’ and affect its targets with such precision that it was almost impossible to defend against.

Moreover, the Demon King has had this skill for a thousand years now! His mastery over it is almost reaching the level of mastery that Rio has over his sword intent!

Just the fact that someone had the same level of mastery over a legendary skill as Rio was already insane to begin with; now the Demon King even had the body of a member of the Nebo Civilization that had a high affinity for the ’law’ of ’cosmic order’!

His power and control over the ’law’ of ’cosmic order’ was now so powerful that he was simply in a completely different league compared to people like Ashtel and the Dragon King Idri.

Thus, fighting him right now was an unwise choice that Ashtel wouldn’t make again.

”Everyone, aside from the matter of the demon race, we also need to understand that we can’t just casually order around each other for help and power.”

”This is an alliance of all nations, not a master-servant situation.”

”I know that all of you desperately want the help of Rio and Riya from the human empire, but don’t ignore the fact that they are both members of the human race before they are benefactors of the world alliance.”

Ashtel narrowed his eyes as he spoke in a calm but domineering voice.

”I would ask the two of them to help out the places that need them desperately, but that would come later.”

”I will take the two of them back home with me, and they will take care of the situation of the human empire first before anyone else can have a turn.”

”Moreover, in this time of uncertainity, no one knows what the demon army might do, so we can’t let important assets like the two of them just randomly roam around and expose them to danger...”

”So don’t expect me to just send them to you all without making proper preparations. You all will have to be patient if you want to ask for help, or you can just forget about it.”

Ashtel glanced at Ryul and spoke,

”The matter of the world tree concerns the entire world alliance’s safety, as it is a major source of healing items and artifact-related products for most of the world.”

”Thus, healing the world tree takes higher priority. After the human empire’s troubles are solved, the world tree shall be healed as fast as possible.”

Ashtel knew that Rio was planning something and even the Demon King was not just going to sit still for long.

Sooner or later, a big change was about to happen in the world, and Ashtel couldn’t tell the others about it right now, as he himself wasn’t sure of it.

But he knew that in such a time, he couldn’t expose Rio and the others to danger.

He needed to take them back home so nobody would dare to plot any secret plans against them.

’Although I can’t understand what you are trying to do Rio... as your benefactor, I will support you no matter what...’
