Reborn as an Extra

Chapter 773: He never lost...

”As expected, you realized it...”

”To be honest, I do want to tell you everything, everything that I know about the sea of miasma, the ’Being’ that Alverto had become a pawn of, and many other secrets...”

”But telling them to you directly will attract a certain entity’s attention to us, and I would prefer not to trigger the clash between you and that entity prematurely...”

With that said, the Demon King brought out a small gem from his storage ring and placed it on the table in front of Rio.

”This is a missing gem of the ’Crown of Endless Realms’; it got broken off when King Allen Von Reinhart fought against those who had betrayed him with the help of the crown and a previous demon king...”

”I later found it through some channels and have had it in my possession for a long time...”

Rio took the broken gem piece and looked at it with interest.

The gem was shining with a corrupted aura, but Rio could feel a certain memory fluctuation hidden deep inside of it.

”Nothing in the universe happens without a reason; there was obviously a major reason why that previous demon king attacked King Allen with the help of the shadow dragons and the crown back then...”

”There’s a memory stored inside this gem... you can embed this gem back into the crown and watch all those memories play out in front of you in person...”

”Don’t show these memories to anyone and only watch it yourself; others might not be able to withstand the mental burden the miasma in this memory would put on them, but you can...”

Hearing those words, Rio put away the broken gem and asked,

”The reason why you didn’t make any moves until this day was because you were waiting for me to appear?”

”How come you already knew that I would appear sooner or later when it should be impossible to predict the appearance of an anomaly like me...”

At Rio’s question, the Demon King smiled lightly as he replied in his usual calm voice,

”Indeed, it’s impossible to predict even with the help of ’Destined Fate’ about when or where an ’Anomaly’ might appear...”

”But the thing is, You appeared in our universe a thousand years ago. I have been waiting for you to manifest on this planet since that time!”

”I didn’t know when you would manifest in this world, so I could only wait and wait and wait... I had almost lost all hope by now, but as if bringing a new dawn to this world, you have appeared now...”

”I am grateful that I finally got to meet you after such a long wait...”

Rio was shocked after hearing those words and wanted to question Dahaka more, but before he could do so, the ’laws’ of the world started to become uneasy.

*RUMBLE* *RUMBLE*

As if reacting to the words that the Demon King had spoken, the sky in the artificial realm started to crumble apart, and purplish thunder started to appear with dark clouds.

”Oh, it seems I have said too much; it would be better if I didn’t say anything more, or we will really be in trouble.”

The Demon King shook his head in disappointment and spoke,

”Well, once you reach rank SS, you will find out everything, so I don’t need to tell you about it right now; it would only be counterproductive to take unnecessary risks when there’s no need for them.”

Rio was also disappointed, but he would rather not worsen the situation right now, so he could only hold back his curiosity for now.

”It’s really surprising that I have been in this world such a long time. If I had proper emotions, I might have been jumping around in panic by now...”

Rio couldn’t help but question what his friend was thinking, who his friend was that had given him the original novel to read, and why exactly he had made Rio transmigrate into this world in the first place.

Many things were a mystery; there were many questions that were unanswered, but Rio had a nagging feeling that he just needed to improve his strength and he might figure out everything eventually.

’Well, compared to how I was completely aimless, now I at least know that becoming stronger will help me find all the answers that I want...’

Before meeting the Demon King, Rio didn’t even know what he needed to do to figure out the source of the mysterious power residing inside of him that was making him emotionless.

Now he had a direction and a clue that could open up many possibilities in the future.

’Coming to save Link’s father and meeting the Demon King was a worthwhile trip after all it seems.’

With a smile on his face, Rio got up from his seat and waved his hand to put away the furniture and the tea set before speaking.

”I still have some unfinished business in the Beast Archipelago; after that is completed, I will seclude myself for a while and investigate the memories through the crown.”

”Once I am done with all these troubles and things have settled down, I will come to visit the demon continent in a month or two.”

”I will make my ’choice’ after that... until then, can you keep an eye on the recent movements of the sea of miasma?”

”It’s been quite restless lately; even that seal on the door to the sea of miasma in the spirit realm was broken recently...”

”I won’t be surprised if it’s up to something sinister...”

Seeing that Rio was about to leave, the Demon King hesitated for a bit but then spoke out with a solemn look on his face.

”Rio before you go and watch those memories... let me tell you something important that the rest of the world hasn’t realized yet.”

Rio tilted his head in confusion and waited for the Demon King to continue.

”King Allen Von Reinhart, he actually never lost.”

*BOOOOM!!!* *RUMBLE!!!* *RUMBLE!!!*

The moment the Demon King spoke those words, the artificial realm made through ’True Paradise’ was bombarded by powerful heavenly thunder and shattered instantly!
