Reborn as an Extra

Chapter 763: My Choice... Part-1.

Just when Rio was thinking about the rising threat of the demon king and was a bit distracted, Raika took advantage of that moment and flicked his finger lightly.

The realm of consciousness changed instantly, and Rio found himself standing in the middle of a large market.

Dozens of S-rankers appeared in the sky, all targeting him with their powerful aura.

Some of them were people Rio personally knew; there was Lia’s father, James, and there were Jin and Anna.

Link, Riya, and even Lia appeared in the sky, and they all stared at him with eyes filled with hatred.

Raika giggled as he saw this scene, got up from the ground, and spoke.

”Hahaha, so this is what one of your biggest fears Rio?”

”A battle breaking out with your loved ones while standing amidst innocent civilians? Haha! You do have a mindset similar to a ’Hero’ after all!”

”Listen to me Rio! We can both work together and entirely change the destiny of this universe! You and I can make a great team!”

Seeing Rio go silent and stare at the fake projection of Lia, Raika felt even more confident and spoke.

”Rio! I can give you anything you may want; I can create realms where everyone will worship you like a god!”

”Power, fame, women, money, anything you may desire, I can create! Inside my realms, I am omnipotent and can grant you anything!”

”If you are not satisfied, then just channel your miasmic energy into me, and I will create anything that you may like in my realms and then teleport it to the material world outside for you!”

A proud look appeared on Raika’s face as he declared,

”The Lia you know outside has a tendency to defy you and has a tendency to make her own choices, but if you agree to work with me, I can create a version of her that will be completely obedient to you, Rio!”

”You just have to be the ’Hero’! All I want is revenge for my mother planet, a better world for everyone, and destruction of the sea of miasma!”

”Take my hand, Rio; you are meant for greatness!”

Raika extended his hand towards Rio; a confident smile appeared on his face, as if he knew that Rio would accept his offer.

But he forgot one thing, Rio was ’selfish’ to the core.

”Omnipotence, ability to create anything, ability to go anywhere anytime and the ability to simulate new possibilities... this power is indeed very unique...”

”But you seem to forget one thing, Raika. I can do all this without you... All I have to do is purge your consciousness and seize this power of yours for myself...”

Rio raised his sword towards that cheap imitation of Lia and activated his skill.

[Sword Intent: Maximum Output!]

[Sword Sage’s Enlightenment: Miasmic Flux: Cosmic Decay!]

As if a black hole had opened around Rio’s sword’s tip, darkness spread in all directions and completely erased everything in existence around it.

’Cosmic Decay’ was an ability that used miasma to completely erode the very laws of the universe in a certain area.

The sea of miasma is doing something similar to this, and as Rio has observed the sea of miasma and has known about it for a long time, Rio also knew about its abilities to some extent.

Currently Rio not only has powerful control over miasma, but he has also learned Destiny Manipulation, which in turn enhanced the erosion ability of his miasmic corruption-related attacks, and thus the new skill, ’Cosmic Decay,’ was created!

Rio was already getting bored of these weird realms created by Raika and thus had to create an ability that would specifically target these realms and break them completely from the inside out!

’Cosmic Decay’ was his answer to all the questions that Raika had thrown at him.

”The idea of Lia being completely obedient to me sounds so horrible that I can’t explain in words how angry I am right now at you...”

”To even suggest something like this... I guess you really have never been in love with anyone... Well, as a mere manifestation of an artifact’s consciousness, I guess you really can’t know what love is in the first place...”

Rio stared at the decaying realm, looked at the disappearing body of the fake Lia, and spoke.

”Saving the universe, making it all better for everyone... although I am not interested in doing that, I can do it, but I will not take anyone’s orders...”

”If I have to do it someday, I will do it on my own terms; otherwise, I will not do it at all...”

”To remain true to only yourself and never change yourself for anything... that is what an ’Anomaly’ is, so I will remain selfish till the end... and I will not be the ’Hero’ that you want, Raika...”

[Ding! Congratulations! You have gained a new realization of your ’Path’!]

[Ding! Congratulations! You have taken another step forward on your ’Path’!]

[Ding! All conditions have been met!]

[Ding! Your ’Path’ has granted you a realization, ’solve the final knot clouding your heart and ascend to the realm of demi-gods’!]

’A final knot... sigh... I know what you are talking about...’

After more than three years since coming to this world, Rio was now so close to the realm of demigods that he could ascend any moment he wanted to right now.

He had already completed all the conditions needed to ascend to the next realm by now.

The only thing stopping his own heart and his own choice.

’Right now is not the appropriate time to make this choice... I need to wait a little longer...’

There was a choice in front of Rio now, and to move forward, he had to gain a clearer vision of what he wanted.

’I can ascend at my will... but I must clear all of my doubts first; otherwise the outcome won’t be ideal...’

Shaking his head, Rio calmed his mana from going into full critical mode and placed a temporary seal on his soul.

Rio knew that this wasn’t the right moment to make the choice; he needed some more time to polish his mind.
