Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 886: Gift (1)

”Take this.” The Dragon King put a pair of gloves on Alavenyaʼs hand. ”Your journey this time wonʼt be anything like what youʼve seen before. So, I hope these gloves can aid you in this trip. These are the gloves that your mother used to wear.”

”Father?” Alavenya raised her eyebrows. ”Didnʼt you seal all of Motherʼs belongings?”

The Dragon King shook his head. ”Not anymore. Just like your mother, you work very hard to pursue your own goal. If only I didnʼt always protect her, she might have become strong enough to protect herself. I donʼt wish to make the same mistake. Go, I pray for your success.”

Alavenya didnʼt know what to say. Her father rarely talked about her mother ever since she passed away, but today, he looked different.

The Dragon King said, ”The normal method to utilize the second half of my martial art is to make your body grow strong enough to withstand the power it wields.

”However, thereʼs a second method. Your mother figured it out. It was so reckless that I stopped her from using it. It was to let your body break and repair over and over again until it becomes strong enough to withstand it.”

”!!!” Alavenya widened her eyes in shock. If that was the case, her mother would have been in pain every time she used the martial arts. It wasnʼt like a healer like Anubis could easily be called.

The body structure and development between male and female were different, so it wasnʼt that weird for her to develop slower with the normal method. Hence, she had to use that reckless method to keep up with the Dragon King.

That was probably why the Dragon King stopped her mother from using it. But it ended up making her unable to grow, which ultimately killed her.

As a husband, how could he endure seeing his wife in pain? It was a normal reaction but was also the one that killed her. How could he forgive himself after doing such a thing?

Alavenya clenched the pair of gloves. ”I will become stronger, much stronger than Mother and you. I wonʼt be able to forgive myself if I fail to become stronger than you.”

The Dragon King smiled. ”Yeah. I believe you will be able to.”

Alavenya lowered her head. ”I will be off, Father.”

…

On the other side, Flora seemed to be getting a present.

”M-Mother? Why are you here? Aunt Lena too?!” Flora gasped, not expecting that the two of them would visit their town.

”Whatʼs wrong? Nathan told me weʼre free to visit here. Besides, isnʼt this our family land?” Lena shrugged.

”Mhmm.” Rena pouted. ”I just canʼt help but worry after hearing that youʼre planning to go to the alien territory. Do you know how dangerous it is?”

Flora smiled wryly. ”Sorry for making you worry, Mother. Itʼs just…”

”I know. You have to go, right? Donʼt worry. Iʼm not here to stop you or get mad at Nathan for dragging you to such a dangerous place.” Rena smiled. ”I want to give you this.”

”Hmm?” Flora looked at the box in her motherʼs hand. Her mother opened it, showing the contents of the box. ”A brooch?”

Rena nodded. ”You donʼt use a wand, so I think I should give this to you. This is called Brooch of Nature. It will smoothen the flow of your ena and make you stronger. Your grandfather had been using it to rise through the ranks and become a royal summoner.”

”Are you sure you want to give this to me? I donʼt think Iʼm qualified to wear it.”

Rena harrumphed. ”If not you, then who? Your aunt here canʼt use it. Iʼm not even a summoner. Rather than letting it be covered in dust, itʼs better to use it to protect his descendants. So, take it and return. Once youʼre done with it, pass it to your child.”

Flora smiled wryly. ”I understand. Thank you, Mother.”

”Make sure you get back, understand?”

Flora reached for the beautiful golden brooch with a blue-colored jewel as the main star. She solemnly nodded. ”Yes.”

…

After knowing about the dangerous expedition, it appeared everyone was worried. Even Noelle got a visit from her brother.

”Take this, Noelle.” He brought a long box.

”Brother?” Noelle raised her eyebrows.

”Itʼs Grandfatherʼs order. Now that you have chosen to trust your familiar and grow stronger together with them, your sword is no longer adequate for your needs. Please take this.”

He opened the box with one hand, showing a sword and its scabbard. Noelleʼs previous sword was just a normal sharp sword. She didnʼt rely much on the familiar, so her strength was limited.

On the other hand, this sword was forged with a black-colored metal. More importantly, there was a red-colored pattern like that of a flame stretching from one tip to the other.

”I will pass Grandfatherʼs message. Donʼt say anything and take it. Use it and come back if you feel indebted to me. Thatʼs all.”

Noelle looked surprised as she was staring at her brother with a dumbfounded expression. Soon, both of them let out a chuckle.

”Thank you for giving me this sword. I will definitely use it to survive.” Noelle nodded. ”I donʼt have any plan to die anyway.”

”Let us have dinner together after you return, Noelle.”

”Yes, Brother.”

…

As expected from the people with big backers. Even Sera also received something from the Pope.

It was a pair of earrings.

Unfortunately, the Pope or anyone important couldnʼt deliver it personally, as they had other important matters to tend to.

So, after the messenger gave her the earring, they left.

The earrings had the shape of a cross. It was made of gold and silver. Sera knew the importance of these earrings, considering they were imbued by Archangel Michael.

What no one expected was not these four. It was Selena. Unlike any others whose backers had been confirmed, Selena was still considered a lone wolf. After all, the rumor about her being the Sageʼs pupil was never confirmed.

But before they left, the man who was known as the Sage actually visited the town directly.
