Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 863: Fox or Snake

”I see. How many do you want this time?” Elder Thompson asked.

”20. Will that be fine?” Even though he asked for more, he didnʼt plan to use his contract to activate them. He still wanted to create only 11 of them. The remaining bracelet would be a spare in case it was destroyed or contaminated with smell or other things he didnʼt expect.

It was necessary to gather some data regarding the space bracelet to further perfect it after all.

The remaining nine bracelets would be stored either in the space bracelet or in his house.

Elder Thompson nodded. ”Sure. It will take several days, so I will send it to your house when theyʼre done. Will there be no further requests? If not, I will burn the paper after the completion.”

It was a simple courtesy of a blacksmith. By burning this paper, no one could take a peek at the magic circle, including himself.

If Nathan wanted to order more in the future, he would have to ask for another drawing.

But it was a simple request, so he nodded. ”Yes. That will be fine.”

”All right.”

”Thank you very much.” After politely thanking him, he returned to his home.

Finally, he had time to consume the cores and increase his ena. It was time for him to distribute the ena and summon a new companion.

Before he started consuming the cores, Nathan summoned his familiars to discuss the next familiar.

”Since our group has become larger, I want your opinion. Do you have anyone you dislike and donʼt want me to summon?” Nathan asked.

Nidhogg and Fenrir glanced at each other. ”Everyone. But thatʼs not the reason for you not to summon them.”

Anubis shook his head. ”Not really. Iʼm not like Ra and Apophis.”

Jinwu thought for a moment. ”I donʼt really have any mortal enemies.”

Unfortunately, Kun couldnʼt really join the conversation due to his size. People would be terrified of having a huge whale suddenly appear above Nathanʼs house.

In fact, he had to move to the backyard just to accommodate Nidhogg.

”So, who do you plan to summon for this trip?” asked Fenrir. Considering it was for the trip, Nathan would have to make some adjustments.

”Letʼs see… My current plan is to have everyone reach 100,000 ena mark and summon two more familiars before raising the mark to 250,000 ena or something. You mentioned previously that you would reach the next quality at around that, so thatʼs my current plan.

”I will probably summon one or two more familiars after that and see what needs to be done next.

”As for this trip, I have three divine beasts in mind. On the other hand, the seventh familiar has been decided. It will be something about luck. I mean, the sixth familiar is for this journey, while the seventh familiar must be for our solo travel, right? We definitely need luck on our travels.”

”Fair point.” All four beasts nodded their heads.

Even Nathan felt a bit hurt when they admitted his luck was that bad.

”Anyway, for this trip, I have three divine beasts in mind. They are Yamata-no-Orochi, Tenko, and Hydra.”

”Hmm. You still want that beautiful fox sister?” Fenrir squinted his eyes.

”Do you think Iʼm that shallow?” Nathan shook his head helplessly. ”What I want is her power. She is good with illusion, according to the legend. She has magical power on par with gods and can fly or become invisible.

”Her illusion power will definitely help us in combat. Just take a look at our composition. Donʼt you think thereʼs a need to have someone become an all-rounder to support everyone? Her illusion power is extremely versatile for our group. Of course, she is also a shapeshifter.”

Nathan didnʼt forget to add the last one. Fenrirʼs eyebrows twitched because of the last remark. However, he couldnʼt really refute his words.

Her illusion power would definitely help, depending on how they used it. With a capable leader like Nathan, he might even find a unique way to utilize that power. Besides, even though this trip was to save Selenaʼs father, Nathanʼs power had been exposed to a certain degree.

Having an illusion master like her would make Nathan safer from the humans. In other words, Nathan considered not only just this trip but also the future.

”How about this Yamata-no-Orochi?” Anubis asked. ”Sounds like a snake?”

”If you want a snake, why not consider my brother?” Fenrir raised his head.

”Kun can handle Jormungandʼs role for the time being. As for Yamata-no-Orochi, he is a river deity. However, there are a lot of legends about him being able to control multiple elements, each head containing one element.

”In addition, he is a river deity, which you understand what it implies about his home. We canʼt really fly too much there, so having someone like him to take care of the terrains will be good.”

”Thatʼs indeed understandable. Besides, our place is near a swamp area, so if thereʼs anyone daring to go against us, having him there will definitely destroy them.” Anubis nodded in agreement.

”What about the last one?” Jinwu asked.

”Hydra. Heʼs a serpentine water monster with multiple heads, often nine. Heʼs known for his poison breath. One of his heads is immortal. Meanwhile, each time his mortal heads are cut off, two more will regrow.”

”Monster? Not a divine beast?”

”Yeah. Thatʼs why Iʼm not really keen to choose him. Most of the legend specifies that itʼs a monster instead of a divine beast. Maybe I can remember another divine beast with poison, but you get the idea.”

”Illusion, Elements, and Poison, huh?” Anubis gave the conclusion of the concept Nathan was striving for.

”Yeah. All of them are useful for our current team.” Nathan nodded.

”Still, even if you choose one, do you think you have enough ena? I mean, to stay above 100,000 ena mark yourself. You will use quite a lot of ena to fill up those bracelets, you know?” Jinwu raised a concern.

”My quality should increase by absorbing all these cores, which means I will get more ena than our previous calculation. In addition, I can always give the bracelet to my teacher and ask her to reimburse it. The space bracelet is that useful.”

”You still want to scam your teacher for more cores?” Fenrir rolled his eyes.

”I think itʼs better to have an illusion than elements right now,” Nidhogg decided.

”We can put the Hydra aside, so if I have to choose between illusion and elements, I will go with elements. We need firepower that can support us from behind.” Jinwu shook his head.

”I want my brother to be chosen, so I will skip the snake and go for the fox.” Fenrir harrumphed.

”I personally believe we should go for the elements. Itʼll be good to have someone like our summoner to provide additional attacks.” Anubis disagreed.

All of them then turned to Nathan since the votes were even.

Nathan smiled awkwardly while raising a finger. ”In that case, letʼs ask Kun and Peng first.”
