Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 876: Voice

For the next three days, Nathan ended up helping with organizing the new ancient library. At the same time, he could see how good the space bracelets were. Without those three space bracelets, moving the entire ancient library would take at least a month.

Yet it didnʼt take them longer than two days. Charlotte carefully organized the books before storing them inside the space bracelet. As a result, rearranging them only took less than a day.

In the meantime, Elder Thompson had finally finished with the new storage.

It was finally time for Nathan to get his element.

The storage looked like a round crystal. Although the surface could be polished even more, it was enough to count the ena within the storage. The size had also been upgraded to three times its original size.

Nathan stood in front of these glowing crystals.

”The storage has been upgraded. From the looks of it, each storage is capable of absorbing about 287,000 ena. I have charged them with the elite class core. It doesnʼt fill up all four storages to the brim, but itʼs enough, I believe.

”Thereʼs a total of 1,091,900 ena inside this storage right now. Youʼre free to proceed,” explained Vivian. ”Do you have anything youʼd like to ask?”

”None.”

”Let me brief you again with the elemental source youʼre going to form.” Charlotte stopped him. ”For familiars like us, we are born with an elemental source located in our heart.

”The form of that elemental source depends on the element itself, just like the flow of ena when using magic.

”However, there are also cases where a person doesnʼt have an elemental course and another case with getting a new elemental source.

”More often than not, there are herbs or even materials that have such a strong element that they can produce an elemental source once consumed. This world doesnʼt have it, but weʼll use this as the basis of our process today.

”Once consuming such a material, the material will burst out, unleashing the power of an element. By using your ena to contain it and gradually calm it down, you can gradually harmonize yourself with it, which ultimately creates a new elemental source.

”The process itself can give you some pain, but because weʼre using the Soul Contract, we donʼt know what will happen, so just make sure to prepare for any unexpected situation.

”Still, the elemental source will most likely be small. Hence, you have to undergo the normal training to gradually expand it to our level.

”I will be teaching you about the training later, but for now, you just have to remember this elemental source is delicate. Weʼll protect you for now to ensure no one is disrupting the flow of the element, so you donʼt have to worry.

”Thatʼs all. Do you have anything youʼd like to say?”

Nathan raised two fingers. ”Weʼre going with plan A, right?”

”Plan A… The plan is to use the Soul Contract itself as a medium for an elemental source. Considering the Soul Contract is an innate ability, it can be considered a part of you, so this one puts less burden on you than Plan B, which is to put the time element in another material and consume it like the people in my world. So, yes, weʼre going with Plan A. Still, if anything happens or the contract fails, itʼs better to proceed with the original method.”

”Got it.” Nathan raised his hand, forming a blank contract. They had thought about the lines in the contract for a while.

Ultimately, they decided on one clause.

[In exchange for 1,000,000 ena, the Soul Contract will materialize as a part of Nathanʼs body capable of holding a time elemental source. In exchange for 91,900 ena, the world will assist Nathan to form a time elemental source by using the Soul Contract as a catalyst and Nathanʼs heart as the container.]

With the second condition, the world would guarantee the success of obtaining an elemental source. In addition, he could still use a million ena to get the elemental source.

If the requirement for the time elemental source was less than a million ena, it meant the excess amount of ena would be used to expand that elemental source.

Everyone looked closely. Even Fenrir, Anubis, Jinwu, and Mae were standing on the corner, observing it carefully.

The contract succeeded.

The contract emitted a faint golden light and gradually disappeared into thin air.

It was then that green-colored particles started to form a small sphere and sucked in even more particles into itself.

Instead of consuming it, the big particle gradually moved toward Nathanʼs chest and entered his body.

”!!!” Nathan widened his eyes in shock when his heart beat so hard that it felt like it was about to explode.

”Aaahhhhh!” Nathan screamed because of the shock, only to find another unexpected occurrence.

Normally, the people would rush to him or at least call his name out loud because they were worried about him.

But to his surprise, there was no such thing. When he turned his head, he saw the world frozen. Nothing moved except for him.

”Huh?” Nathan looked confused. ”This is… time stop? Is this the worldʼs time or is it only my time? Is this a kind of time stop I have read about in all sorts of stories where one can do anything during the time stop?”

The moment that thought appeared in his mind, a voice soon echoed.

”Iʼm tired!”

”!!!” Nathan felt chills down his spine. The voice was exactly the same as his, but it lacked any energy as though he had fallen into despair and didnʼt want to try anymore.

”Please. Someone. Kill me!”

”Aahhhhh!” Nathan gritted his teeth and clutched his head as the second time caused his head to ring violently. ”Aaarrggghhh!”

When he asked someone to kill, Nathan could feel the desperation from it. But it shocked him even more when the voice continued.

”Everyone has died. I have vowed to save them, but what can I do? All the things I do end up being useless. I lose, I lose, I lose, I lose, I lose, I lose, I lose, I lose…”

Nathan opened his mouth wide as if something choked him. Saliva leaked out and tears were swelling up in the corners of his eyes. It kept repeating the same two words over and over again. He didnʼt know how many times, but it kept ringing with despair.

”How many times has this been? This time… will I lose again?”

The moment the next sentence echoed in his heart, he fell to his knees as his eyes lost their light.

Thud!
