Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 846: Not Just a Unique Summoner

”Thank you, Sera.” Selena smiled tiredly.

”Just sit there. You have worked too hard this time.” Sera put down Selena next to Nathan.

”Everything is done.” Noelle reported as she returned together with Flora and Alavenya.

”Good work!” Nathan waved his hand.

”Nathan. What is that element? Have you been hiding it the whole time?” Flora couldnʼt contain herself.

Nathan chuckled. ”I will tell you once we return. Thereʼs also an important thing I want to discuss with you, so contain yourself for now.”

”How can I do that? Do you know what absolute ice is?” Flora gritted her teeth. ”Even my ice spirit is scared of you. If you just use absolute ice against her, she can do nothing but accept her death. Normal things canʼt go against absolute power. Even if the Ice Prince is standing here, he can only kneel before you!”

”My, my. Wait here, Flora.” Sera helped Flora sit down.

”Why are you acting as if you already know this, Sera? Donʼt tell me. Iʼm the only one who doesnʼt know about it?” Flora gasped.

”Technically, Noelle didnʼt know about it either.” Sera smiled wryly.

”You, a princess, should know what kind of implication he will get if this secret is known, right?” Selena sighed. ”Itʼs not that he doesnʼt want to reveal it. Youʼre acting like this is the exact reason he hasnʼt told you anything.”

”Thatʼs…” Flora wanted to argue, but she couldnʼt deny what Selena said.

”Absolute ice aside, thereʼs something Iʼd like to ask you.” Layfonʼs voice suddenly echoed from the side, causing all of them to turn their heads.

”Sir Layfon?” Nathan raised his eyebrows.

”Did you make Her Highness Flora conserve her strength by moving her around like that? Among all of you, only she hadnʼt taken down a warrior class alien by herself. By letting her conserve her energy, she will have enough ena to do it tomorrow.

”Thatʼs why you kept her by your side or made her group up with Sera and Alavenya, right? Despite all that fighting and the situation, you considered this and created a situation that not only you would win, but you would also accomplish the objective.”

”What?” Flora, Sera, Alavenya, and Noelle looked stunned. Selenaʼs face turned serious. She also got the gist of it, but it took her a while to realize it. That was why she sent Flora to help Nathan.

”I used only a bit of my ena because my lightning spirit wanted me to conserve my ena so that other spirits didnʼt have to be recalled just to protect me…” Flora pointed at herself.

Nathan smiled. ”I definitely wanted them to think that way, even without me saying it directly. Even if they didnʼt realize it, she should be able to recover her energy by tomorrow… not in the morning, but in the evening.

”Then I will ask Peng to bring us back during the night and somehow reach the base before midnight.

”I thought about telling them, but since we had cleared up the most dangerous place on our route, I chose not to.”

”!!!” Layfonʼs body shook. Nathan was talking about the nest between the two hills. Without that nest, the route was relatively safe.

As he expected, Nathan truly saw that far ahead.

”You…” Layfon gulped down. ”How can you achieve it? No. How can you think that far?”

Nathan chuckled. ”Iʼm just desperate. Right now, when people hear about my name, whatʼs the first thing that comes to their mind? Itʼs the fact Iʼm a unique summoner, right?

”However, I donʼt wish to be someone that shallow…” Nathan paused for a moment. He recounted many stories, especially the ones revolving around the system. The main characters relied too much on their golden fingers that once their golden fingers were removed, they were practically empty characters with nothing extraordinary.

In fact, they could be considered a jerk, especially when they acted arrogantly despite having their strength coming directly from it.

Nathan smiled. ”Even if I lose my uniqueness in the future, I donʼt wish to be someone ordinary.”

That was what Nathan had been doing the whole time. Even if the people didnʼt remember him for his unique summoner, he could still be remembered as an inventor of the magic weapon or the ranking system or for someone like Layfon, he would be known as a good commander who could think that far ahead.

He didnʼt want to be remembered as a unique summoner. He wanted to be remembered as Nathan, the man who had beast familiars, an inventor, and an extraordinary summoner.

Fenrir and Anubis smiled. That was one of the reasons they chose to follow him.

Selena was surprised at first, but soon her face mellowed as a smile formed on her face. She had never heard about it, but it definitely sounded like Nathan. Even Amphitrite, who guarded them, couldnʼt help but sigh.

Brunhild and Noelle couldnʼt help but clench their hands into fists, feeling ashamed for thinking so shallowly the previous night.

Flora also felt bad for acting up earlier. Only Alavenya seemed to be able to remain calm, but her chest, too, felt like it was gripped by an invisible hand.

Layfon was speechless, but he understood Nathan a bit. Nathan had been training these girls in his own way, not just to make them strong and independent, but also to be a person that could be remembered by a lot of people.

Even though Layfon had already approved this group, especially Nathan, the latter still wanted to finish all the tasks Sullivan had given.

They first gathered the cores from all these aliens before going back across the river to get a proper rest for a whole day. Still, the ena they recovered was barely enough for the remaining warrior class aliens.

The next day, they faced off against seven more warrior class aliens. Even though they were tattered, they pushed forward, unleashing everything they had while still conserving enough energy for the return trip.

Flora managed to take down a warrior class alien as well. With this, they completed Sullivanʼs mission and finally returned to the fort.
