Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 817: Monstrous Selena

A moment ago.

Yin Zhen and Sasha crushed one alien after another. They specifically did it in a way that the body was bleeding.

As a result, Risa flew into the sky and gathered all that blood to form spikes all around the battlefield, killing one alien after another. It also opened up a path for Selena, who had been doing her best to concentrate.

Selena recalled what Duke Coline had shown back then. The way he controlled ena was different from anything she had seen so far.

When she opened her eyes, her vision was glued to the plant-like alien.

Unlike the beast-like alien, or even the humanoid one, the plant-like alien could attack from the ground.

”…” Selena only looked down as she sensed the movement of the tentacles on the ground.

The tentacles that acted as roots suddenly emerged, surrounding her. Sasha and Yin Zhen hurriedly turned around and struck them away.

However, some were still able to reach Selena. Selena simply activated her avatar, albeit only the ribs. This was enough to protect her without using too much of her ena.

Then Selena looked at the alien with a face so focused that it could give people chills down their spine. The warrior class alien could instinctively sense it as well and immediately sent forth not only the roots but also the branches to stop her.

Selena took a deep breath before raising her hand as though she were trying to grasp the alien with her hand.

Suddenly, the ena in the air started to flow violently toward the alien as though it was trying to squeeze it.

”!!!” The roots broke the ground apart and dispersed that intense pressure.

”…” Selena furrowed her eyebrows. ʼItʼs not like this… This is completely wrong.ʼ

Selena was too focused on testing this new thing that she didnʼt realize that the alien had to forcefully break its attack and the ground just to stop that attack. And she even thought it wasnʼt even correct.

The warrior class alien spread its tentacles underground. The moment Risa was about to unleash her ability, several tentacles suddenly broke away from the tree trunks and surrounded her.

Risa clasped her hands, producing a circular blood wave to clash with the incoming tentacles.

She then flew even higher and let the tentacles chase after her. Once she reached a certain altitude, Risa produced a single big spear and shot it down.

The tentacles clashed with the spear as the blood spear shredded the tentacles to a certain extent until the ena forming that spear was dispersed completely. Unfortunately, she failed to reach the warrior class alien.

Still, her attack was enough to distract the alien to a certain extent, allowing Selena to have a precious time to gather her thoughts.

The plant-like alien switched its target immediately and sent the branches that had been hidden inside the trees toward Selena. At the very least, Risa had flown so high that she couldnʼt go down fast enough to stop the alien.

Yin Zhen and Sasha wanted to step in, but Selena had already waved her wand, sending forth a sweeping force from below.

Normally, this sweeping force would knock these tentacles up, but surprisingly, the sweeping force suddenly split into two and blasted the tentacles in two directions.

”…” Selena furrowed her eyebrows. ʼNot correct…ʼ

Little did she know, the alien wasnʼt the only one who was shocked by Selenaʼs power. Layfon, who had been observing her, couldnʼt help but drop his jaw to the ground.

”Layfon. While youʼre observing them, I want you to take a closer look at Selena.”

”Selena?” Layfon didnʼt understand it at that time.

After all, Sullivan only said, ”Yeah. She is the one causing all this, so I want you to get a close look at her.”

There was something he didnʼt say back then. He wanted to know Selenaʼs strength because it was stated in the letter that Flora was able to gain her freedom because Selena was there. He wanted to know why the royal family held Selena in high regard.

Layfon was the first one to understand it.

ʼThis… Isnʼt this Directional…ʼ Layfon gasped. ʼAs an arcane level summoner, I know this power because Iʼm doing my best to reach that level and gradually approach the world class summoner level with that method.

ʼHowever, reaching this stage is like a dream. Even among all world class summoners, only a small number of them can do it.

ʼEven me…ʼ Layfon clenched his fists. ʼI canʼt even do it perfectly because I havenʼt reached that stage yet. But she… she is only 17 years old, but she has already begun to tap on that level? What is actually going on?ʼ

Layfon didnʼt know how Selena even started doing this.

ʼOne wrong move, it might cause an undesired effect that will harm the person itself, but… she is able to control her power perfectly.

ʼNormally, to be a strong summoner, especially in terms of control, the general path is pretty clear.

ʼFirst, you need to have a considerable amount of control, especially for the four basic controls. After that, you have to turn one of your familiars into a lifebound familiar. The items required to do it are a lot, but itʼs much easier compared to how hard it is to make a familiar their lifebound familiar.

ʼStill, for some talented people, they shouldnʼt have a problem in achieving it during their third year in the academy. People like Her Highness Flora or Noelle are the living proof. However, most of the time, they wait until they graduate.

ʼI can see that she has reached that level, but for some reason, she hasnʼt turned her familiar into a lifebound familiar yet.

ʼWhile I can list out several reasons, the next stage is to completely master the power of elements.

ʼOnly after this is done can they start practicing the directional attack. Itʼs basically bending nature itself to create a direction that you want.

ʼYet, this girl actually skipped the second and the third steps and approached the fourth step directly. And more importantly, she doesnʼt seem to suffer from setbacks. How is this possible? Is she… a monster?ʼ
