Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 537: Worse Than a Warrior Class Alien

Royal Palace.

”What?” Julius stood up in shock. ”The war minister has gone to the frontline? Isnʼt he only trying to see whatʼs going on with the area Marquis Reyzar is in charge of?”

Zack, who had returned to the palace, frowned.

The prime minister said, ”This is bad. The war minister is facing a high-risk mission. What is he doing? He canʼt stop himself? Does he not think about Her Highness Flora?”

Since the war minister, who was usually the one commenting on frontline matters, wasnʼt here, Zack waved his hand. ”Please calm down, Prime Minister. As the war minister, no one knows the risk more than Sir Matthew. Yet despite knowing that he can die, he chooses to go. This is not about the risk anymore. The impact it will bring to this kingdom the moment he retreats is so big that he doesnʼt have a choice.”

Juliusʼ expression darkened. ”Still, shouldnʼt he inform us about this?”

”I donʼt think itʼs possible.” Zack shook his head. ”First of all, he would definitely not have time to do it or realize it too late, barely sending this messenger. In addition, as the General of the Royal Army, I have to say that organizing the reinforcement in such a short amount of time is impossible.

”Thatʼs why he is asking for reinforcement from our base on the border. And most likely, itʼs near the border between our kingdom and the Liaystian Kingdom.

”Iʼm not the war minister, but I think that the best choice we have right now is to warn other kingdoms about this threat. As they have mentioned, itʼs possible that theyʼre creating this tunnel to kill their respective world class summoners.

”In addition, we have to send a word so that those soldiers in the frontline will help them. The destruction of the tunnels is our main priority. Once we seal that tunnel, the front line can be safe for the time being.

”That must be why the war minister chooses to go, even if it means risking his life.”

The prime minister couldnʼt dismiss Zackʼs opinion. It was reasonable, and it wasnʼt like he was good at this type of matter. In fact, no one was as good as Matthew, so now that he wasnʼt here, they couldnʼt ask anyone else.

Julius gritted his teeth. ”Do we really have no other choice? Do we have some summoners we can spare?”

”Not at the moment. We have dispatched most of our summoners to hold the front line.”

”…” Julius bit his lips. He turned to the other ministers. ”Do any of you have different opinions?”

No one spoke up, so Julius had no choice but to declare, ”Send words to other kingdoms and make sure our soldiers who are risking their lives are reinforced. Have the scouts search for them. Do it fast. We canʼt allow them to die.”

Zack closed his eyes. Flora and Matthew werenʼt the only ones there. His daughter was also with them, so he was also worried.

However, what could he do? As the general of the royal army, he couldnʼt leave his post.

At the same time, the war minister must know that retreating was not an option, so he would launch an all-out attack. After all, sending them half-heartedly was the same as sending people to their deaths.

They had to risk everything.

Zack could only pray for his daughterʼs safety in his heart.

Julius pinched the bridge of his nose, thinking, ʼThis is making me insane. Why does this kid, Nathan, always appear in the middle of a big problem? The first one is the Divine Hand, who ends up targeting him. The second one is this. I might get a heart attack at this rate.ʼ

…

Meanwhile, Nathan had split up their group even further. Since there were four tunnels on their side, Nathan had asked Alavenya, Noelle, and Sera to lead the other three groups.

At the same time, Nathan asked Flora to stay with him.

With such a large army, having Flora beside him would give enough justification to control them. No one dared to question the princess after all.

Nathan positioned himself at the very front while Selena and Flora stayed at the back, waiting for their reinforcement to come.

”So, whatʼs going on with the worse situation that is about to happen? As expected, we will be finding a warrior class alien here, wonʼt we?” Flora asked as she overheard Selena and Seraʼs conversation earlier.

Selena shrugged. ”I donʼt know. A warrior class is strong, but I donʼt think itʼs far from our reach. Noelle is the closest one to the grandmaster level, right?”

”Yes. While she is still not strong enough to fight against a warrior class alien yet, sheʼs very close to it. In fact, I and Noelle have worked together once and defeated a warrior class alien during our mission.”

”I see. In that case, what do you think is worse than a warrior class alien?” Selena asked.

Flora tilted her head in confusion. ”I donʼt know. Are they going to bring a massive army?”

Selena shook her head before casually saying, ”Two warrior class aliens.”

”…Youʼre insane.” Floraʼs eyebrows twitched. ”Do we even have enough strength to deal with them?”

”I donʼt know.” Selena shrugged. ”Even though we are not as strong as you yet, we are able to kill a mature class mutant if we work together with our familiars. If the soldiers can hold, it might be possible, but I havenʼt faced such a creature before, so I canʼt say for sure.”

Flora sighed. ”This is going to be hard… harder than anything I have faced so far.”

While they were talking in the back, Nathan had finally received the news from the scouts they dispatched earlier.

The captain of their group turned serious. ”I see. The tunnel is shorter than we originally expected, so we shouldnʼt be that far from a fort. Still, there are a lot of aliens outside the tunnel. How are we going to synchronize our movement with the other three groups, sir?”

Nathan squinted his eyes. ”Donʼt worry. I have an expert for that. Jinwu. Time for you to shine.”
