Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 523: Asmodeus vs Noelle

”…” Seraʼs expression turned serious.

Asmodeus crossed his arms. ”This is definitely bad for the frontline. First of all, the frontline should have known how many aliens slipped past them and expected a certain number to attack them from behind.

”But what if they send double or triple that number through this tunnel? They can either hit the frontline or the northern area. In the end, if the supply is cut off, the frontline canʼt last for a long time.

”In other words, they basically have a lot of options by having tunnels here.” Asmodeus turned to Sera. ”I know that youʼre exhausted after fighting for a whole day to reach the end of the tunnel, but we should go back and inform everyone about it. We have to somehow convince everyone to inform the related noble to conduct an investigation.”

Sera nodded. ”In that case, we should first go to Alavenya and Flora to get their help before heading to Nathanʼs side.”

”Still, we canʼt leave this spot unsupervised. Only one of you is enough to bring that message.” Asmodeus agreed.

”In that case, Sera. You should go and inform them.” Noelle decided immediately.

Sera shook her head. ”No. You should go. Your speed is much faster than mine.”

”I should be the one supervising this area. In case something happens, I have the strength to handle it,” explained Noelle.

”I canʼt agree with that one.” Asmodeus stopped Noelle. He politely bowed to Sera first. ”I apologize if I step over my line, but the one who should go is you, Miss Noelle.”

”What?” Noelle glared at Asmodeus. She thought Asmodeus favored Sera a bit too much. It was clear that she was stronger, so she should be here instead of her.

Asmodeus, on the other hand, waved his hand. ”Yes, you are stronger than my summoner. You can probably win a one-on-one fight a thousand times in a row, but my summoner can kill a thousand aliens faster than you.

”Itʼs simply the difference in our specialty. You have chosen not to summon a lot of familiars, and youʼre able to do it to the point where your individual prowess has surpassed your peers, which is something I can respect.

”As a result, your capability in fighting a lot of enemies at once is practically much lower than the others. While itʼs true that you can fight a strong alien by yourself, killing a lot of aliens isnʼt your strong point.

”Hence, itʼs better to have my summoner stay here instead of you.”

”You…” Noelle clenched her fists, trying to argue. However, Asmodeus simply stated the fact the whole time, whether she liked it or not.

Asmodeus added, ”This is your choice, Miss Noelle. You have abandoned the potential familiar. As a wise person once said, you win some, you lose some.

”If all the aliens suddenly attack, we are more capable of holding them here than you. Itʼs just a fact.

”You have made your choice, so live by its consequences. Donʼt be a loser and whine about it. Even a baby can whine by crying, but it wonʼt solve the problem.”

”Asmodeus!” Sera tried to stop him. Although Asmodeus said the correct thing, his words were too harsh.

Still, as one of the demons who had dealt with humans a lot, he understood their personality and decisions.

In fact, even if Sullivan was here, he wouldnʼt stop Asmodeus. After all, Noelle really needed those words. Sullivan wanted her to choose the correct path and summon more familiars because he, the Sword Saint, already knew the price he had to pay in this path.

He once said that he wanted to train the soldiers so that they were capable of fighting the aliens. While that was a good principle, it also came from Sullivanʼs guilt.

Even if he could cut down an elite class alien, he wasnʼt capable of stopping ten warrior class aliens who came at the same time, unlike other summoners who could ask their familiars to deal with them.

Instead of stopping Asmodeus, he would probably support or even thank Asmodeus for saying the words he couldnʼt bear to say to his own granddaughter.

Noelleʼs lips were shaking. She wanted to say something, but her brain refuted her arguments.

Noelle gritted her teeth and said, ”Fine. I will leave this place for you.”

She just turned around and ran, feeling ashamed and wanting to cry. As someone who became the strongest summoner in the Frexia Academy, she was proud because she could prove that her grandfatherʼs path was also correct.

But when she was faced with reality, she couldnʼt do anything.

Sera looked worried before glancing at Asmodeus. ”I know you have good intentions, but isnʼt that too harsh?”

Asmodeus shook his head. ”Iʼve seen that Master Nathan is interested in her, but someone still has to say it before itʼs too late.

”If she becomes in denial about her own reality and canʼt recover from my words, I will remove her from the group no matter what it takes. She will just become a burden in the future.”

”…” Sera looked down. ”But arenʼt you the demon of lust…?”

”Yes, but I told you that Iʼm fulfilling the desire of the person I serve. Master Nathan probably wants a powerful team who can watch his back. And someone who canʼt even recover and become stronger from those words is not worthy of entering the group.

”Of course, itʼs for you as well, my dear summoner. Master Nathan is probably racking his brain to persuade her, but Iʼve helped him take care of that problem.

”If she truly changes and becomes much stronger, donʼt you think you deserve a reward from him? Hehehehe. I donʼt ask much. I want to study his blood a bit. Do you think itʼs possible to ask him some? A few droplets are enough.”

”…” Sera scratched the back of her head. Asmodeus had done a great job, but he really had an ulterior motive. At least, he was open with his motive to her. It would be troublesome if he did everything behind the scenes for an unknown reason.

Sera let out a long sigh. ”I will try, but I canʼt guarantee it…”
