After setting aside the evidence, the two of them left the room and drove towards the police station.

When they returned, they saw a thick stack of documents on Li Xianghui’s desk. He was analyzing the contents intently.

Seeing the two of them return, Li Xianghui asked, “Did you find anything?”

“Lin Yi was right.” Gu Yiran said.

“The camera could indeed rotate freely, and there are traces of fishing lines on it. Using this, you could indeed achieve the goal of tearing the tape off. This should be the ultimate answer to murder in the room upstairs.”

“That’s great!” Li Xianghui said excitedly.

“We also found some clues on the flow of their bank cards. We can confirm that Wang Jia and Zhang Hao are related.”

“I think that with the evidence we have, we can interrogate the two of them,” Lin Yi said.

“But I suggest individual interrogations. Maybe we can get them to reveal more information.”

“Let’s go together!”

The five of them arrived at the interrogation room. Not long after, Wang Jia was also brought in.

Compared to the first time, her mental state was much worse. Her bare face made her look much worse.

However, because of her good foundation, even if she looked a little haggard, she was still very good-looking.

“Why are you still bothering me for so many days? I’ve already said what I needed to say. Why won’t you let me go?!”

Seeing Li Xianghui and Lin Yi’s team members enter, Wang Jia’s expression became excited. She was not as stable as the first time she came.

“There must be a reason why we did this. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have detained you here. As for the reason, I think you know better than us.”

“What do you mean? You can’t keep me here just because I’m Du Juan’s cousin sister!”

“It’s true that you two are close, but there are other reasons why we’re holding you here.”

Li Xianghui kept a straight face and looked straight at Wang Jia.

“From now on, you will answer whatever I ask. I hope you will cooperate fully with our work.”

“I’ve already told you everything I know. What else do you want to ask me?”

“Do you know a man named Zhang Hao?”

“Zhang Hao?” Wang Jia muttered, “He sounds familiar. Our boss was working on a new project recently. His partner seems to be called Zhang Hao.”

“Then, tell me everything you know.”

“I don’t know anything else. I’m just a salesperson, not a manager at the company. I’m not qualified to know these things.”

“I advise you to tell us everything you know. We can’t keep you locked up until now if we didn’t already have enough evidence.”

“I really don’t know this person. There’s nothing to say.”

“But in our investigation, you received two remittances from Zhang Hao. One was sixty thousand yuan and the other was ninety thousand yuan. How do you explain this?”

“Because there were two additional businesses between the two companies. Our boss asked him to transfer the money to my account to avoid paying taxes. Then I handed the two sums to our boss.”

“You mean that you negotiated these two additional deals, so they were transferred through your bank card, right?”

“Yes, that’s right.”

“If that’s the case, then you and Zhang Hao shouldn’t be strangers, right?” Lin Yi asked.

“He’s the big boss, and I’m a small employee. Even if we do these two businesses, we don’t have much interaction. We’re not very familiar with each other.”

“Do you really think I don’t know anything?” Lin Yi asked.

“Even if between you two there was just a regular business relationship, and even if you wanted to avoid taxes, shouldn’t it have been from a corporate to a private account? Why would the money go from Zhang Hao’s account directly to your bank card?”

“Furthermore, while Song Deyuan’s business wasn’t huge, 150,000 yuan was like petty cash to him. I can’t understand why, with millions flowing through the company annually and taxes being paid regularly, he would feel the need to avoid taxes on just 150,000 yuan?”

“Well…”

Wang Jia’s face revealed a trace of panic. She didn’t expect Lin Yi to be so meticulous.

“I hope you won’t waste any more time. I also hope you won’t keep struggling because Zhang Hao has already confessed.”

“The reason why he went to Aomen was to have an alibi. Then, he instructed you to set up the scene and kill Du Juan.”

“Nonsense!” Wang Jia became agitated. “She’s my sisterO, and she’s the one who brought me to Zhonghai. Without her, I wouldn’t have my current life. How could I do such a thing?”

“People die for money. Birds die for food. I’m sure some people would do anything for money. Isn’t that right?”

“Don’t slander me. I’m not that kind of person!”

Wang Jia became even more agitated after being hit on the sore spot.

“When my sister died, I was still in the company. Other employees can vouch for this. How could I kill her? I don’t have a cloning technique!”

“Of course you don’t have a cloning technique, but you have the ability to kill her.” Lin Yi said calmly.

“You should have a key to her house in your possession. Before Du Juan was released, you went to her house and destroyed the gas line. You punched a small hole in it and then taped it shut. Then, you used a fishing line and connected it to the rotary camera at Zhang Hao’s parents’ house. That way, you could tug the line via remote control of the rotary camera, pull the tape off the gas line, and cause Du Juan to die of gas poisoning. Am I right?”

“Nonsense, I didn’t do that at all!” Wang Jia denied loudly.

“And even if I killed her, how could I have watched the timing so accurately!”

“Because there are four cameras at Du Juan’s house, and these four cameras were probably planted by Song Deyuan. You’re a salesperson of the company. It wouldn’t be difficult to find these things on his computer. This is proof that you knew the timing.”

Wang Jia’s face was pale, making her look like a terminally ill patient.

She didn’t expect Lin Yi to be able to find all these clues.

“Moreover, I believe there was an unspeakable relationship between you and Song Deyuan. You are suspected of inducing him to use prohibited substances. So, do I need to detail the subsequent matters one by one? I hope you won’t struggle pointlessly; it won’t benefit you.”

Wang Jia remained silent for a long time, not uttering a single word.

Everyone present, except Lin Yi, were experienced detectives, and they knew she was undergoing her final mental struggle. Success or failure hinged on this moment.

“I don’t know what Zhang Hao has that could attract you enough to make you risk your life for him. If you confess now, I guarantee the court will be lenient. Consider your future because the money swindled from Song Deyuan ultimately belonged to him and had nothing to do with you. With your looks, getting involved in such affairs is too costly and not worth it.”

As time ticked away, minute by minute, it took Wang Jia a good five or six minutes before she finally spoke.

“I conspired with Zhang Hao to kill Song Deyuan and Du Juan…”
