Wang Xicai looked at Lin Yi for a full five seconds.

“Comrade, what are you talking about? I want to know, how did you conduct the test?”

“I tested it in the courtyard of the 4S shop.”

“Don’t tell me you think you can match our specialization?” Wang Xicai said with an unfriendly expression.

“And I think your actions just now were biased. I suspect even more that as a public official, you have an unspeakable relationship with this lady.”

“Don’t talk nonsense. We have nothing to do with each other.”

“Who knows if there’s a connection, but we’ve already issued the report. As for the remaining issues, you’ll have to resolve them yourselves.”

“Thank you, Director Wang, for proving our innocence, otherwise this matter would have been hard to clear up,” Li Donglin said with a cheerful smile.

“Protecting your legal rights is our duty. We cannot let those with malicious intent infringe on your interests, otherwise, who would dare to do business in the future?”

“Exactly. It’s all thanks to you guys.”

“If there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave first.” Wang Xicai said.

“You can handle the rest yourselves. If this woman continues to try to scam you, I suggest you go straight to the judicial process.”

“Okay, okay, okay. I’ll know what to do next.”

Wang Xicai nodded and turned to leave.

“Wait…”

Before Wang Xicai could leave, Lin Yi stopped him from behind.

“Do you have anything else to say?”

“I just wanted to double-check with you. Do you admit that you produced the report and that there is nothing wrong with the car?”

“Yes. What else do you want?”

“It’s fine. I recorded it just now. It’s fine as long as you can confirm this.”

Wang Xicai’s expression changed. He suddenly got a bad feeling.

However, Lin Yi didn’t explain much to him. He took his phone and called Chen Bingqiang.

“Contact the person in charge of the quality inspection unit for me. I’ll be in their reception room on the first floor.”

“It’s not a big issue, but I feel there are problems with the report they issued. I want to find someone knowledgeable to conduct a re-examination and issue a new report.”

“Yes, the one on Corning Road. I’m on the first floor. I think we’re in Room 109.”

“Alright, I’ll treat you to a meal later.”

Lin Yi hung up the phone, and everyone in the room looked at him.

“Who are you calling?” Wang Xicai asked.

“You wouldn’t know him even if I told you, so don’t ask.” Lin Yi said.

“Don’t you still have something to do? Go now. I don’t need you anymore. Someone else will deal with this later. Go on.”

Wang Xicai felt that something was wrong. “Don’t tell me you know people from our department?”

“I don’t know, but my friend does. As for who’s coming over, I don’t know, but he should be able to handle this.”

Wang Xicai’s eyes shifted, feeling that he couldn’t quite see through Lin Yi.

He was just a lowly police officer, with a status not even comparable to his own, so who could he possibly know?

Creak-

Just as the two of them were feeling puzzled, the door of the reception room was pushed open and a middle-aged man walked in.

Seeing the person who came in, Wang Xicai was shocked and hurriedly went up to greet him.

“Director Zhang.”

In his shock, Wang Xicai’s heart almost jumped out of his throat.

Why was the second-in-command’s leader here for such a small matter?

“Comrade, let me introduce myself first. My name is Zhang Yaqun. What happened? Can you tell me?”

Zhang Yaqun was the person Chen Bingqiang had contacted and informed of Lin Yi’s identity.

However, Chen Bingqiang had seriously reminded him not to expose Lin Yi’s identity, so he introduced himself in this way.

Otherwise, with his status, he would never say that.

“It’s not a big deal.” Lin Yi pointed at Yang Bing.

“She bought a Tesla and found that the brakes had issues. She went to the 4S shop, but they ignored her and even said you guys had issued a report stating the vehicle was up to standard. I think there’s a problem with the inspection report and would like you to re-examine it.”

“No problem, given the seriousness of the issue, we will definitely take responsibility.”

Zhang Yaqun smiled at Yang Bing, “Don’t worry, I’ll arrange for an on-site inspection right now. We can have a new report ready in half an hour.”

“Thank you for the trouble.”

“A result in half an hour…”

Cold sweat ran down Wang Xicai’s forehead. Getting results in half an hour was definitely special treatment.

It was not something the average person would receive!

Moreover, with his boss speaking like this, it was clear he took this matter very seriously.

When the new test results were out, wouldn’t he be exposed?!

Li Donglin was also dumbfounded. The other party’s boss had personally taken charge of this matter. He definitely couldn’t hide it anymore.

The next half an hour felt like a year to Li Donglin, Wang Xicai, and Mark.

They looked like prisoners waiting to be sentenced to death.

About 40 minutes later, the new test report was brought back.

“Leader, not only is there a problem with the brakes, but there’s also a problem with the transmission shaft. It’s not a small problem.”

Upon hearing this, Li Donglin and Wang Xicai’s expressions were extremely ugly.

Zhang Yaqun was the same, but for a different reason.

“The second report reveals so many problems, but the first report states that there’s no problem at all. You kept saying it’s the owner’s problem. I hope you guys can give me a reasonable explanation.”

“Perhaps we were negligent during the first inspection,” Wang Xicai explained forcefully.

“As officials, can’t you even check the brakes and transmission shaft? Do you think the problem can be solved with just the word ‘negligent’?”

Lin Yi looked at Wang Xicai with a burning gaze, as if he wanted to look right through him.

“Or is there something else going on here? Do I need to spell it out?”

“Inside…”

“Stop it!”

Zhang Yaqun interrupted Wang Xicai’s words. “Go out. I’ll deal with you later!”

“Boss…”

“Get out!”

Wang Xicai was shocked and walked out dejectedly.

“The truth is out. We’ll get this to the judiciary as soon as we can. We must give the lady a reasonable explanation.”

“I don’t want the car anymore, as long as you give me a refund,” Yang Bing said.

“Refunding the money would be letting them off easy,” Lin Yi said, “It’s best if you hand it over to the judiciary, or else all your grievances will be in vain.”

“Can you really handle it for me?”

“Of course. Otherwise, the law would be useless.”

Yang Bing’s eyes sparkled, “Thank you so much. Without you, us small business owners would have no way to handle this.”

Lin Yi glanced at Yang Bing, realizing that she was no ordinary citizen.

“It’s all part of our job.”

After speaking, Lin Yi looked at Li Donglin, “Come with me, you dare to bribe anyone, you’re not lacking in courage.”
