“I’ve got a spare copy in my car.”

“Then what are you waiting for? Show it to me.” He Yuanyuan urged.

“With me around, 1 can help you analyze the problem in minutes.”

“Wait here.”

Lin Yi got up and slowly returned to the car, bringing back all the information about Song Deyuan’s company.

“It’s all here.”

“Let me take a look at you.”

He Yuanyuan read it seriously. She even took out a pen from her bag and began to mark the pages.

Although Ji Qingyan was not a professional, she was skilled enough to be He Yuanyuan’s assistant in this matter.

Gao Zongyuan also went over obsequiously and followed He Yuanyuan to scrutinize the document.

Lin Yi and the other two held their beers and drank one bottle after another. They all stuck to their own task.

Seeing how serious He Yuanyuan was, Lin Yi wanted to praise himself for being so smart.

Half an hour later, He Yuanyuan sorted out the information and put the pen aside. She complained,

“I think the person in charge of their company’s finances should be dragged out and executed.”

“What’s wrong?” Lin Yi said.

“It’s full of loopholes. If the higher-ups wanted to investigate it, they could close down in minutes. 1 wonder how they did it.”

“With the size of their company, the finance manager they hired must lack skill. He’s not on the same level as you,” Gao Zongyuan asked.

Lin Yi and the other two rolled their eyes.

He Yuanyuan was also very smug. But then again, she had the right to act like it.

“Even though the company’s accounts are full of loopholes, they have enough money to spend and gift some gifts,” He Yuanyuan said.

“However, there isn’t much money left in their company’s accounts.”

“What did they spend it on?”

“It seems they are developing a new project in collaboration with a company called Shengke. According to the project figures listed, the total investment is about 240 million yuan…”

While speaking, He Yuanyuan looked down at the document, “This person named Song Deyuan withdrew 130 million yuan, it was really a last-ditch effort.”

Lin Yi frowned, “If I remember correctly, the liquid assets in his account were only about 80 million yuan.”

He Yuanyuan continued flipping through the documents in her hand, “He mortgaged his house for 28 million yuan, then took out a loan for 22 million yuan. That’s how he gathered this much money.”

“I think this also proves that he was murdered, after all, he was ready to make a big move, not likely wanting to die,” Liang Jinming said.

“Maybe the pressure was too much, then he took some substances, and eventually fell to his death.”

Everyone nodded. This possibility indeed existed.

“However, his recent trajectory seems a little strange. It’s a little hard to explain.” He Yuanyuan said.

“What went wrong?”

Lin Yi asked seriously. He felt that the real problem was about to surface.

He Yuanyuan waved a document in her hand.

“This is the financial statement of their company’s travelers. It records the travel of employees at all levels.

“I found out that he’s been traveling a lot in the past three months.”

“What’s strange about that?” Lin Yi asked.

“The coastal areas are the most developed regions in China. Pengcheng in particular is unparalleled in the semiconductor industry. Moreover, the company he was collaborating with is also based in Pengcheng, so there was no need for him to travel elsewhere on business.”

“Could he have done that to find other partners? To expand his market?” Liang Jinming asked.

“It’s unlikely,” Ji Qingyan said while looking through the contract.

“The contract indicates that they wanted to partner up to develop new types of security devices aimed at cracking the high-end domestic and overseas markets. Therefore, the main focus of this project is on research and development, and it’s not yet ready to be market-oriented; it’s unlikely he was trying to expand the market.”

“Sister’s right, there are indeed some doubts here,” He Yuanyuan said, smoothing her hair.

“I’m familiar with Huaxia’s semiconductor market, and even if he really was looking for partners, he should have concentrated his travels in the coastal regions, but his travel ppatern is odd.”

“Over these three months, he first went to the Greater Khingan Range in the northeast, then to Mount Tai, and afterwards to Gui Province. These places are either major industrial provinces or major agricultural provinces, where the semiconductor and computer industries are relatively weak. It doesn’t make much sense for him to look for partners in these areas.”

“His situation seems somewhat similar to yours; it should be explainable, right?” Gao Zongyuan said.

“Huh? How is it similar to my situation?”

“Aren’t you also always going to places like the northeast, Guilin, Sanya? These are also not very related to your job.”

He Yuanyuan’s face darkened. She wanted to kick Gao Zongyuan.

I’m on a company-funded vacation. How can I be the same as him!

Was there sh*t in his brain?!

“That’s an industry exchange. It’s different from him.” He Yuanyuan combed her hair and pretended to be calm.

You’re the CFO, yet you’re talking about industry exchange! What kind of sh*t was this?!

However, Lin Yi didn’t pursue the matter. He had helped him so much, so he didn’t mind such a small matter.

“Then, do you think it’s possible that he was under too much pressure and went on a holiday?”

“A person like Song Deyuan is obviously a hardened veteran. He’s not like us young people who need to rely on traveling to relieve stress. He has his own unique way of relieving stress,” He Yuanyuan said.

“On the other hand, even if he did travel, the route was strange.”

“The places he goes to are either mountainous or hilly. They’re not particularly famous tourist cities. It’s impossible…”

“F*ck!”

Before He Yuanyuan could finish, she heard Lin Yi exclaim, scaring the others.

“Brother Lin, what was that? You scared me.”

“I understand now! 1 know who the murderer is!”

As soon as these words were spoken, everyone’s gazes focused on Lin Yi!

“Who is it?”

Ji Qingyan was nervous and excited, feeling that she had made a significant contribution!

“It’s Song Deyuan’s lover, Du Juan!”

“How did you determine that?”

“When I was interrogating her during the day, I received news that she had been applying for leave frequently in the past three months. Moreover, Song Deyuan had also been on a business trip for the past three months. If the timings coincided, it meant that Song Deyuan had gone out with Du Juan!” “Does this prove that Du Juan is the murderer?”

The case had reached the most critical point. The others were also nervous. They felt like they were acting out a script. They even felt a little creeped out.

“That should be the case,” Lin Yi said seriously.

“The places they go to are always places with mountains and rivers. This means that every time they travel, she had planned to lure Song Deyuan into falling off a cliff, but every time, she failed.. However, this time, she succeeded!”
