“Are you sure it’s okay?”

While shopping at the night market, Li Chuhan was still a little worried.

She didn’t want Lin Yi to delay his matters because of her.

“There’s something wrong with that woman’s brain. Ignore her.”

“Okay.”

“Don’t think about what happened just now. I’ll buy you whatever you want to eat.”

“I want to eat steamed buns and squid.” Li Chuhan smiled as brightly as a flower.

“Wait here.”

Li Chuhan stood to the side, and Lin Yi went to the stall to line up. But at this moment, his phone rang.

It was a WeChat message from Li Xianghui.

“Call me back at your convenience.”

Lin Yi didn’t think too much about it and called him.

“Inspector Li.”

“What’s going on? You met Little Gu?”

“I didn’t expect to be so unlucky. 1 went to the night market and bumped into her.” Lin Yi said.

“Maybe I’ve been cursed recently, I should find a fortune teller to break this streak.”

“Stop kidding around, didn’t I tell you this matter was urgent? Why did you still go to the night market? Couldn’t you have waited until after everything was settled?”

“Rushing will get you nowhere. 1 had to have someone deliver the medicine to me, and it just so happened that we arranged to meet here.”

“You’ve got the medicine?”

“I got it. Five bottles in total.”

“Kid, you’re not bad. You got it done so quickly.”

“If you’re free, come over and pick up the medicine, then deliver it to the higher-up.”

“I’ve got other matters to attend to. Just deliver it to the Orthopedics Department of Huashan Hospital.”

“Why should I be the one to deliver it? This is your chance to show off.”

“I’m not going to fight you for the credit,” Li Xianghui said.

“You deliver the medicine and leave a good impression on the leader. Besides, your training results are not bad. If nothing unexpected happens, you should be assigned to the sub-bureau. This will give you better prospects than being assigned to a local police station.”

“It doesn’t matter to me. I’m just trying to help you.”

“That’s a separate matter. 1 can’t take advantage of this.” Li Xianghui said.

“They’re in Room 607 of the Fourth Inpatient Department. The leader happens to be keeping watch there right now. Just hand it over to him. I’ll give you a phone number later, and you can contact him once you’re there.”

“Alright then.”

After handling the business, Lin Yi hung up the phone and bought Li Chuhan fried buns and squid.

“Is there anything else you want to eat?”

Li Chuhan shook her head, “Mainly because I’m a bit hungry after being on duty until now, otherwise just strolling around here would have been fine.”

“Wandering around the night market without eating something is so meaningless, it loses the essence of visiting the night market.”

Li Chuhan smiled, “You’re right.”

“Am 1 always right with you?”

“Yes.”

“Silly.”

Li Chuhan was not a foodie and was not particular about food at all.

However, when she saw the trinkets, she could not help but buy a few.

However, the most expensive one did not cost more than 20 yuan.

After shopping for more than an hour, Li Chuhan bought some food and prepared to bring it back for Qiao Xin.

“Where is your training location? I’ll send you back,” Li Chuhan asked after they got into the car.

“Let’s go back to the hospital first. 1 need to send the medicine over.”

“Stop messing around. Which department? I’ll hand it over for you. It’s getting late. Go back and rest early.”

“I have to do this myself. It’s not appropriate for you to go.”

Li Chuhan was a person with a very poor understanding of the ways of the world.

She relied solely on her ability to get to where she was today, so she didn’t think too much about this matter.

This was a gift to the leader, so Lin Yi naturally couldn’t just hand it over to her.

Just like just now, Lin Yi wanted Li Xianghui to go over personally.

“Alright, 1’11 listen to you.”

After arriving at the hospital, the two of them parted ways at the entrance of the Fourth Inpatient Department.

Taking advantage of the fact that there was no one around at night, the two of them even hugged each other quietly before separating.

It was past eleven o’clock at night. There weren’t many people in the hospital.

However, in order to avoid being recognized, Lin Yi still wore a mask to avoid unnecessary trouble.

He entered the door and got into the elevator. When he reached the sixth floor, he walked towards Room 607.

Creak…

When he passed Room 602, a man in black walked out with a water bottle in his hand. He looked like he was going to get water.

However, when he saw the man, Lin Yi was stunned for a moment. He felt that he looked familiar.

Then, he suddenly remembered that he had previously dealt with a person called Ma San, and the person who had just come out of the room seemed to be his subordinate!

When Lin Yi turned around to confirm this, he realized that the other party had walked into the water room and was nowhere to be seen.

Lin Yi’s eyes darted around, but he was not in a hurry.

The hospital was his territory. He could just call and check this later.

Soon, Lin Yi reached Room 607 and made a call.

“Chief Liu, Inspector Li asked me to give you something. I’m right outside Room 607.”

“Okay, okay, okay. Wait for me.”

The person Lin Yi referred to as Director Liu is named Liu Guangxian, who is the second in command at the sub-bureau.

Soon, the door of the ward was pushed open and Liu Guangxian walked out.

“It must have been hard on you to make a trip so late at night.”

“You’re too kind. If there’s nothing else, 1’11 take my leave first.”

“There are patients inside waiting for my care, so 1 won’t see you out.”

“No need, no need, you go ahead.”

After a brief exchange of courtesies, Lin Yi adjusted his mask and left.

When he walked out of the Fourth Inpatient Department, Lin Yi called Li Chuhan.

“Is everything done?”

“It’s done, but 1 want to ask you something.”

“Tell me.”

“Fourth Inpatient Department, Orthopedics Department Room 602. Help me find out who the patient inside is, but don’t make this matter public. Just investigate it quietly.”

“Are you in a hurry?”

“We’ll investigate tomorrow. Take the chance to rest while you can.”

“Okay.”

Lin Yi felt that his guess was probably right.

Ma San had lost one of his hands, and considering Huashan Hospital is the best in Zhonghai, it’s certain he would come here first.

Unless something was wrong, the patient in Room 602 should be Ma San.

But it was still better to confirm.

After arranging everything, Lin Yi took a taxi back to the base and found a blind spot to jump back inside the compound.

Ring ring ring!

The next morning, the familiar bell rang.

Lin Yi and Zhang Peng got up one after another. After washing up, they went to the canteen to eat.

The two of them had just arrived at the canteen when they saw Gu Yiran walking out.

“Have you packed your things?”

This question stunned the others.

“Pack what?”

“From today onwards, you won’t have to train here anymore. What’s the point of acting stupid?”

“It’s not up to you to decide if I’m training here or not. Inspector Li hasn’t even opened his mouth yet, so why are you attacking me?”

“Let me tell you, don’t think you can do whatever you want just because you have a good relationship with Inspector Li.”

“If you have what it takes, fire me.”

“Don’t think that I don’t dare.” Gu Yiran said.

“After breakfast, go back to the dormitory and pack your things. You don’t have to go to the field..”
