Ugh..

Everyone in the conference room tried their best to hold back their laughter.

The person Mayor Liang brought here was really different from the rest.

It was obvious that Chen Yan had never met such an unconventional person before.

She was at a loss for words.

!!
Liang Ruoxu was pleased with himself. She felt that her earlier worries were a little unnecessary.

Even someone like Zhao Wen became docile and obedient when facing Lin Yi. This little girl was lightyears behind.

“Cough cough cough…”

Chen Yan pretended to be calm as she coughed. “Mr. Lin, I think we should be more serious. Please answer my question.”

“The so-called lost legacy isn’t something that I can conjure out of thin air. You’re basically asking me to produce something out of nothing.” Lin Yi said with a smile.

“Moreover, this question isn’t the key to this meeting. There’s no need to focus on it.”

Lin Yi’s answer made Chen Yan even more helpless.

‘Is he teasing me again?

‘Is my B cup not good enough after you’ve seen Sis Mi Li’s D cup?

‘Two D’s are needed to form a B, so don’t try to deny my attractiveness!’

Even so, the aura given off by this handsome ruffian was simply irresistible.

Soon, Chen Yan calmed down. She put the lustful thoughts aside for now.

“There’s a total of nine common herbs and 17 precious herbs listed on this prescription. This kind of arrangement has never been seen before in traditional Huaxian medicine,” Chen Yan said.

“Its performance in the lab may be up to expectations, but going from the lab to the clinic is a very important process. Can you ensure that your prescription is really fine?”

Lin Yi shook his head. Liang Ruoxu’s sharp senses detected this small movement.

He was ready to fight back.

“In truth, I think that all research is unnecessary when it’s differentiated from practice,” Lin Yi said.

“You said that this prescription has never appeared in orthodox Huaxian medical treatment, but this isn’t a problem with the prescription, it’s a problem with your way of thinking.”

“What’s do you mean?”

“What’s orthodox? What’s unorthodox? Is what’s written according to the script orthodox? Is personal research very orthodox? I think there’s a problem with this line of argument,” Lin Yi said.

“Everyone says that traditional Huaxian medicine is broad and profound, but in my opinion, the current research of traditional Huaxian medicine is currently very biased. It is totally inseparable from Huaxian conservatism.

“Looking back at the recent development of modern medicine, we can see that is a dark history filled with blood and tears. Without any anesthetics, tooth extraction, punctures, craniotomy, and amputations were all performed. It is not an exaggeration to say that the development of modern medicine is made out of corpses, while our traditional Huaxian medicine has become a kind of healthcare therapy. This is the tragedy of traditional Huaxian medicine

“You doubt the origin of this prescription and its safety. This is a trait that both medical and scientific researchers must have, but the best way to resolve doubts is through practice and experimentation. Formal pursuits are useless in the face of this issue.

“There’s no way out if we stick to the rules. I hope this proprietary Huaxian medicine will enter the clinical stage as soon as possible and prove itself with data. Otherwise, it’ll be useless no matter how much I say.”

Lin Yi stood up with a cold face and walked out of the meeting room.

He had finished bragging and venting.

Seeing Lin Yi leave, Liang Ruoxu followed him out, confused. This meeting was a little strange!

Even though Lin Yi had said so much, she didn’t understand what he was saying.

Even so, everyone in the meeting room, including Chen Yan, was deep in thought.

Lin Yi’s last sentence was undoubtedly a serious warning to them.

There’s no way out if they stick to the rules.

Huaxian medicine had been around for so many years. Was it going downhill?

They didn’t dare to answer since the answer would be painful.

“Lin Yi, why are you leaving?”

At the stairs, Liang Ruoxu pulled Lin Yi aside.

“I’m done bragging, so of course, I have to leave.”

“At least talk a little more. This is a necessary procedure.”

“You don’t understand, do you? Posturing is also about propriety and skill. It’s like stir-frying vegetables. You have to control the heat properly. Otherwise, you’ll either get raw or overcooked food,” Lin Yi said.

“Just like you, this height and weight is a perfect combination of curves and bones. A little more or a little less wouldn’t do.”

“Why are you talking about me again? I was talking to you about the meeting.”

She said that, but Liang Ruoxu was still very happy after being praised by Lin Yi.

“Actually, that had gone perfectly. If I said any more, that little girl Chen Yan would have overreacted,” Lin Yi gestured and said.

“Why don’t I just give them four taels of ten thousand catties and make them all confused? That way, I’ll seem even more mysterious.”

“Four taels of ten thousand catties?”

“Yeah, with Chen Yan’s size, she’ll only be four taels of flesh at most, while the golden cudgel weighs exactly ten thousand catties.”

“Can you be more serious and have some respect for my identity? I’m begging you.”

“You don’t have to worry about anything else. Just watch the results.” Lin Yi chuckled.

“Didn’t you notice that I fooled even Wu Daoliang? I’m very satisfied with my performance just now.”

It was a formal meeting, so naturally, Liang Ruoxu wouldn’t say anything. He just didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at Lin Yi’s actions.

“Everyone in the meeting room is a big shot in Huaxian medicine. I suspect they weren’t used to your way of speaking, but they won’t remain silent when they return to their senses.”

At that moment, the people in the meeting room came out one after another.

The person in the lead was Dao Liang Wu.

“Mr. Lin, listening to your words is equal to ten years of academic study. Your words just now have pierced through the glass ceiling that has been restricting the development of Huaxian medicine for so many years. Although I’m a few decades older than you, I’ve learned a lot from you.”

Liang Ruoxu, “???”

Lin Yi, “???”

‘I was just bragging. I didn’t do anything. What you said was too much.

‘Even if you are just trying to suck up to Liang Ruoxu, this is too much, isn’t it?

Did you give in just because I was bragging?

What about the scholar’s code?

Why are you giving in so easily?

“Sis, my future brother-in-law is really something.”

Lin Yi was even more confused after hearing Chen Yan’s words.

Wu Daoliang could still be suspected of being a bootlicker, but Chen Yan definitely didn’t need to do the same.

Other than Wu Daoliang and Chen Yan, the other Chinese Medicine masters also expressed their gratitude toward Lin Yi.

Especially Zhao Dongmei, who grabbed Lin Yi’s hand excitedly. “Not bad, young man. Come to my house for dinner when you’re free.”

“Okay, okay…”

Lin Yi was confused.

What part of the speech had moved them?

He was so confused!

After sending off the participants, only Lin Yi and the others were left.

“Director Wu, I’ll be the host today. I’ll bring you guys to try some of Zhonghai’s special dishes to welcome you,” Liang Ruoxu said politely.

“Thank you for your kindness, Mayor Liang, but I have to return to Yanjing tomorrow because of work. I still have a bit of time now, so I have to use it to visit my old teacher. I can only apologize.”

“Since that’s the case, I won’t keep Director Wu here any longer.” Liang Ruoxu looked at Chen Yan. “Come with me. I’ll take you out for a walk.”

“I have to follow Director Wu to visit Old Mr. Yan too. This is something that my father instructed me to do. I have to go.” Chen Yan chuckled. “But, sister, you have to wait for me. I want to go out to sea on a boat later. You can arrange this for me, right?”

Liang Ruoxu looked at her watch. “It’s three o’clock now. If you come back early, we can still go out and have some fun before dark.”

“No problem, wait for me.”

“Okay, go.”

After sending Chen Yan and Wu Daoliang away, Liang Ruoxu looked at Lin Yi. “Oh right, I forgot to tell you something. My secretary said that the six major pharmaceutical companies have already delivered the goods. It’s said that the first batch of medicine will arrive in Zhonghai tonight.”

“We’ll be fine as long as we proceed according to the plan. I estimate that about 60% of the goods will be delivered within three days. It won’t be good if you try to fabricate an excuse for them, so just tell them that there’s a problem with the goods and hold them all.”

Liang Ruoxu nodded. “Where are you going now?”

“To the hospital to see my lovely patient.”

“Are you free tonight? How about having dinner with Yanyan and I?”

“Sure. You can decide on the timing.”

Ring, ring, ring…

Just as Lin Yi was about to leave, his phone rang in his pocket. It was an unknown number.

“Who is this?” Lin Yi asked

“Doctor Lin, I’m the owner of Tianze Pharmacy at the entrance of Huashan Hospital. My name is Wang Guanghong. I’m wondering if you’re free tonight. I’d like to treat you to dinner.” Wang Guanghong said

“What do you want to have dinner with me for?” Lin Yi asked.

“Nothing much. I just have a business to discuss with you.” Liang Ruoxu said.

“Business to discuss with me? Sure, let’s discuss it then.” Lin Yi said.

“I’ve already booked Room 409 at the banquet hall next to the hospital at 5 pm.”

“Okay, I’ll be there on time.”

“Who called you? What’s happening tonight?” Liang Ruoxu asked after Lin Yi hung up.

Lin Yi smiled. “A boss from a big pharmacy came to talk to me about making a fortune. Don’t you think this is interesting?”
