Liang Ruoxu drove back to her office after leaving the building.

Her heavy heart relaxed a lot after Lin Yi’s appearance.

She didn’t feel pressured even though there was a mountain of documents in front of her.

After dealing with the matters at hand, Liang Ruoxu had a meeting in the afternoon and sorted out the things on her plate again.

Although there was a battle to turn things around, this matter was not over yet.

!!
Thinking of this, Liang Ruoxu picked up her phone and called her grandfather.

“Why did you remember to call me? Aren’t you busy at work?”

“Look at what you’re saying. Can’t I call you when I feel like it?”

“I know that you are enjoying a double harvest of career and love now. You wouldn’t have the time to bother with an old man like me,” Liang Ruoxu’s grandfather said with jealousy.

“I just came to work here. It hasn’t even been a month. How can you say that I am flourishing in both career and love?”

Even Liang Ruoxu himself did not notice that her attitude had quietly changed when approaching this matter.

If it were the past, as soon as she heard the word love, Liang Ruoxu would hang up immediately. However, this time, she did not.

“Don’t deny it. I can already tell.”

“Aiya, alright, alright. You’re already so old, so why are you still acting like a child?” Liang Ruoxu said with a smile.

“Grandpa, I want to ask you about something.”

“What is it?”

“Can you help me ask about the price increase of the medicine? Isn’t Uncle Chen your favorite student? It shouldn’t be a problem for you to do this, right?”

“Don’t even bring it up!”

When this was mentioned, Liang Ruoxu’s grandfather’s aura suddenly changed and became fierce.

“Today, your Uncle Chen came to my place and specifically mentioned this matter. The other party’s attitude was very firm, and there isn’t any room for reconciliation right now,” Liang Ruoxu’s grandfather scolded.

“Damn it, forget ten years, if I were even five years younger, I would beat them until they left my doorstep.”

“Stop, stop, stop. Calm down. If you have the time, it’ll be good for you to play some chess with your old comrades in the courtyard. Why are you so angry?”

“It’s mainly because it’s too infuriating.”

“Don’t worry. I’m helping you resolve this matter. I think you will get a result soon.”

“What did you say? You’re resolving this matter?”

Liang Ruoxu nodded. “Previously, Uncle Chen gave me the opportunity to try to bring in ibuprofen. However, the negotiations got off to a bad start, which led to the price increase by the six major pharmaceutical companies.”

“You little girl, slowly explain to me what’s going on.”

In the next thirty minutes, Liang Ruoxu briefly recounted what had happened to her grandfather.

However, Liang Ruoxu didn’t say Lin Yi’s name.

He was still as mysterious as ever.

“You’re not lying to me, right? That kid actually developed a drug that’s comparable to ibuprofen?”

“Yes. Now that it has passed the lab tests, the next step is the clinical trial. I’m going to give it a green light to see what the clinical effect is like. If the effect is really as he claims, then we won’t have to rely on imports anymore.”

“This kid is really a f*cking genius!”

“Yes, he is.”

“Tell Uncle Chen that it doesn’t matter if they aren’t able to resolve this matter. Just wait for my news.”

“Okay, okay, okay. I’ll give him a call later. You can tell me what policies you need to be enacted as long as it’s nothing too excessive.”

“No need. Lin Yi already thought of a solution. We have to rely on our own abilities. What kind of person only knows how to rely on their family?”

“You little girl, how dare you act so arrogantly in front of me. Don’t forget, I’m the one who got you this position.”

“That’s true, but if this issue can be successfully overcome, in addition to the photolithograph project, I might be promoted by my own abilities.” Liang Ruoxu said proudly, “This is not because of my family, but because of my achievements.”

“Yes, yes, yes. If you can solve this matter, it will be a great achievement.”

“Just wait for my good news.” Liang Ruoxu said, “But if there is any new situation on Uncle Chen’s side, you have to inform me in advance.”

“Don’t worry,” Ruoxu’s grandfather said with a smile. “It’s all thanks to that kid. Don’t always let the guy take the initiative. Times have changed, and there’s always equality between men and women.”

“What the hell do you mean?”

Du du du du…

Liang Ruoxu hung up the phone and put it on the table. Her pretty eyes rolled back as she muttered to herself.

“Lin Yi helped me so much. I think I really need to treat him to a meal.”

Liang Ruoxu took her phone and sent a WeChat message to Lin Yi.

However, no one replied after the message was sent.

Then, Liang Ruoxu called, but still, no one answered.

She felt that something wasn’t right. At this point, Lin Yi wouldn’t have missed her call.

She called Lin Yi a few more times, but no one picked up.

All of a sudden, Liang Ruoxu’s heart skipped a beat.

“Did something happen?”

Liang Ruoxu lost her cool at the thought of this possibility. She grabbed his bag and rushed out of the office!

…

Liang Ruoxu did not face any obstacles upon arriving.

She showed her ID card, and no one dared to stop her.

Liang Ruoxu was smart, and she didn’t rush in. Instead, she asked the security guard about this.

“Mr. Lin came back at noon, and he hasn’t come out since.”

Liang Ruoxu relaxed after hearing the news.

It was good that Lin Yi was fine, but why wasn’t he answering his calls?

Liang Ruoxu drove to the entrance of Villa Number One.

She found Lin Yi asleep on the sofa by the window.

Liang Ruoxu was amused.

Lin Yi was asleep, so it was normal for him not to reply. He did this all the time, so why was she so nervous this time?

He walked to the door and found that she couldn’t open it without a fingerprint.

At that moment, Liang Ruoxu saw that the garage door was open, so she walked over quietly. He was surprised to find that there was a small door in the garage that connected to the house.

The small door was left ajar.

Liang Ruoxu entered Villa Number One quietly through the small door.

She took off his high heels and walked quietly in front of Lin Yi. She saw that there was a lot of writing on the coffee table.

Out of curiosity, Liang Ruoxu picked up a document and looked at it.

She found that it was full of famous Huaxian medicine. There were at least forty types of medicine listed here.

“He’s not going to study all the corresponding Huaxian medicinal formulas, is he?”

Liang Ruoxu’s heart warmed at the thought, and she felt her heart inexplicably ache.

He’d probably started studying it after returning from the town hall.

He ended up falling asleep on the sofa.

There was no such thing as a genius, it was all done through hard work.

Perhaps what he’d done may have been viewed as sheer talent in the eyes of others.

However, in reality, it was really the result of his hard work.

She found a blanket and covered Lin Yi with it.

“Thanks for your hard work.”
