“I also find this feasible. I can even tell other companies to take as many orders as possible as they have priority over Huaxia. There’s no reason not to make money when doing business.”

“Okay, I’ll do as you say. I’ve already prepared a new position. You can take it when you come back,” Luo Yi said.

“Thank you for your trust, President.”

“It’s already dark in Huaxia. Good night. I’ll be waiting for your good news.”

“Good night.”

!!
After hanging up, Zhao Wen stood up. “There’s nothing to worry about now. Go book two flights back to the United States tomorrow.”

“Got it, Director Zhao,” Meng Haiqing said.

“Oh right, Director Zhao, there’s one more thing. I forgot to report to you just now. The evaluation experts in the negotiations called me a lot during the day to ask about the final price and whether their benefits will decrease.”

“Tell them that the money they’ll receive will not decrease,” Zhao Wen said.

“We’ll still need them in the future. We can’t be too stingy.”

“I got it.”

Zhao Wen nodded. “You should go back and rest too. Don’t forget to book the plane tickets.”

“Okay.”

After saying goodbye, Meng Haiqing left.

Zhao Wen took off her bathrobe and prepared to rest.

However, at this moment, her phone rang again.

“Director Zhao, are you resting?”

The person who called wasn’t anyone else but Fan Qinan.

“I’m preparing to rest. Are you looking for me?”

“It’s nothing major,” Fan Qinan said with a smile.

“I booked a boat and wanted to invite President Zhao to visit Jiangjing to have supper together. I wonder if you will do me the honor.”

“I’m really sorry. I might have to let you down. There will be a second negotiation tomorrow, and I’m really exhausted.”

“President Zhao is too polite,” Fan Qinan said.

“Since you can’t come out, I’ll ask you some questions over the phone.”

“Go ahead.”

“We have some information that the six major international pharmaceutical companies have raised the prices of 25 kinds of imported drugs. Is that true?”

“Director Fan, you may have asked the wrong person about this,” Zhao Wen said.

“The Fan family has been a big family in Zhonghai for decades. You can’t ask me, a senior executive of a Meiguon company, about this kind of news, right?”

“I just feel that there’s something fishy going on surrounding this. It’s indeed a little coincidental.”

“I really don’t know about this. I’m really sorry.”

“Since Director Zhao is unable to answer this question, then I’ll ask something else,” Fan Qinan asked.

“Tomorrow is the day of the second negotiation. Will Pfizer make any changes to the price of the medicine?”

“I already told you during the first negotiation that 289 is our bottom line. Forget 9.99, we won’t lower our price by even one dollar.”

“I’m relieved to hear that. See you tomorrow.”

..

The next morning, Lin Yi drove to the Jinyue district and went to Zhonghai Huaxian Medical Hospital with Peng Xingguo.

After waiting for more than ten minutes, Zhao Dongmei finally arrived. She handed an unwrapped medicine bottle and a thick brown paper bag to Lin Yi.

“Yi, the goods are here. I’ve told you countless times not to make things difficult for me.”

“Don’t worry, Teacher Zhao. I know what I’m doing.”

Lin Yi opened the brown paper bag and looked at the report. It was exactly what he had expected.

Only then did he truly feel at ease.

“But we had an internal meeting to study it. This is a very good proprietary Huaxian medicine. We want to do further approval and clinical trials, and we want to hear your opinion on this.”

“No problem. I’ll write you an authorization later. You can handle the follow-up procedures yourself, Teacher Zhao. You don’t have to ask for my opinion.”

“Really?” Zhao Dongmei was excited. “But don’t worry, if you really pass the clinical trial, we won’t take any credit away from you.”

“You’re too kind, Teacher Zhao. As long as I have this report, I don’t care about anything else.”

Lin Yi looked at his watch as he spoke. “Teacher Zhao, I have something else to attend to, so I can’t talk to you anymore. If you have any other questions, let’s… meet again in the future.”

“Okay, okay, okay. It’s settled then.”

Zhao Dongmei knew that Lin Yi had something urgent to attend to, so she didn’t talk to him much.

“Little Yi, you should go if you have something urgent to attend to. Don’t worry about me,” Peng Xingguo said. “I’ll just take a taxi back.”

“How can that be? Teacher Peng has helped me so much, so how can I let you go back by yourself?”

Lin Yi insisted on sending Peng Xingguo back before driving to the bidding center.

Liang Ruoxu was already waiting there.

“Are you all ready?”

Liang Ruoxu didn’t know what Lin Yi was doing, but she knew that he hadn’t stayed idle that night.

“Let’s go, I’ll bring you to witness a miracle!”

“That is fine, but why are you hugging my waist?”

“There’s a flight of stairs ahead, I’m afraid you’ll fall.”

“No need, my legs are fine.”

“Then hug me. My legs aren’t fine.”

“What a hooligan.” Liang Ruoxu ridiculed and then said,

“When I go in later, what should I do? Do I need to match your words or put on an act?”

“Do you think this is a film?”

When Liang Ruoxu said this, he was filled with an inexplicable sense of humor.

“Just act normally, I’ll do the rest.”

“Are you sure you don’t need me to do anything?” Liang Ruoxu asked. “Are you sure there won’t be any problems?”

“Don’t worry, my skills are good. I can handle any kind of show. I guarantee that you’ll be satisfied and excited, and you’ll definitely come back again next time.”

“Okay then.”

Liang Ruoxu was very curious. What could Lin Yi do to reverse the situation?

At that moment, everyone was present in the meeting room except for Liang Ruoxu and Lin Yi.

The atmosphere in the meeting room was very relaxed. The group of arbitrators were chatting and laughing, and there wasn’t any tension at all.

Sometimes, they would even chat with Zhao Wen and Meng Haiqing about the local customs in Meiguo, just like they were on the same side.

Seeing the relaxed atmosphere in the room, Fan Donghuismiled and whispered into his son’s ear.

“I guess there’s no escape. The price increase by the six major pharmaceutical companies must have been done by Pfizer.”

“Zhao Wen dared to keep the price so high just because she had this card,” Fan Qinan said. “These people are really ruthless. They really don’t take Huaxia seriously.”

“It’s normal for capitalists to chase after fame and fortune,” Fan Donghui said. “Didn’t we get excited because of this 289-a-box medicine? Money is something that must be grasped in one’s own hands. That’s what money is.

“Anyway, this doesn’t affect us. As long as there’s money to be made, we’ll be alright.”

“That’s the way to do business. Good people can’t do business.

“Still, I’m very curious, how will a woman like Liang Ruoxu deal with this matter?”

“How? Could she make the people of Huaxia stop taking their medicine? There won’t be any change unless they don’t want to live anymore.”

“Tsk tsk tsk, Pfizer really has some skills to be able to make such a strong woman lower her head in front of money,” Fan Qinan sighed.

“That’s inevitable. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be possible to become the number one pharmaceutical company in the world.”

At that moment, the crowd heard the footsteps outside the door and stopped talking.

Liang Ruoxu was here!

Everyone stood up at the sight of Liang Ruoxu and Lin Yi, showing them the highest form of respect.

Even when they saw Lin Yi still standing by Liang Ruoxu’s side, they didn’t change their expressions and greeted him with smiles.

“It’s been three days. I think everyone has already made up their minds about the price. Let’s start now.” Liang Ruoxu looked at Zhao Wen.

“Just state the starting price.”

“Mayor Liang, after our repeated research, there’s really no room for further price reduction. 60 milligrams of ibuprofen for 289 a box.”

“There’s no change in the price?”

“Yes.”

Everyone in the meeting room was silent. They looked calm on the surface, but in their hearts, they were watching a good show.

Pfizer had the technology and capital, so how could they negotiate with them?

It would be good if they didn’t raise the price.

How could they try to lower the price?

“Are you guys idiots?”

Huh?

The sudden words stunned everyone in the meeting room.

What was this kid doing? Mayor Liang hadn’t said anything yet, so why was he speaking out?!

Moreover, he was spouting nonsense!

“Please speak with respect!” Zhao Wen said with a cold face, “This is the city bidding center, not a place for you to behave atrociously!”

Lin Yi had said some crazy things during the first negotiation, but Zhao Wen had endured it.

He was doing the same this time, but Zhao Wen couldn’t take it anymore!

Even if Liang Ruoxu was sitting next to her, she couldn’t control her emotions.

This was because this time, she held the initiative!

“I’m really sorry, I was too rude just now.”

Seeing that Lin Yi had admitted defeat, Zhao Wen didn’t say anything else.

However, she despised Lin Yi even more in her heart. A Tiger doesn’t show its power, but instead treats me like a sick cat?

“I hope you’ll be more careful next time!”

“Okay, okay, okay, I’ll definitely be more careful next time.” Lin Yi said with a smile.

“But, I’d like to say a few words regarding the price of the medicine.”

“Speak, we’re listening.” Zhao Wen said expressionlessly.

“Are you guys idiots? I told you before, there’s no room for negotiation at 289. Now that we’ve started the second negotiation, why the f*ck are you still quoting this price?” Lin Yi said.

“What’s going on? Why are you running your mouth like that? Did tadpoles infest your brain? I’m sorry, I cursed again. I’ll be more careful next time.”

Everyone was dumbfounded again. With your personality, you’ll definitely repeat your crime again!

Liang Ruoxu nudged Lin Yi lightly. Even if he was angry, he couldn’t scold her like that.

“Mayor Liang, we came with sincerity. We hope that you can ask this gentleman to negotiate with us normally and not act like a lunatic.”

“Firstly, I don’t see your sincerity. Secondly, I will restrain him and the negotiations will proceed normally.”

Everyone’s faces darkened. You don’t have any intention of restraining him!

“Mayor Liang, we have already quoted the lowest price. We can’t go any lower.”

After that, Zhao Wen added, “There’s no room to reduce anymore.”

Lin Yi tilted his head and looked at Liang Ruoxu. “Let’s go. There’s no need to continue the discussion.”

Liang Ruoxu frowned. She didn’t know what Lin Yi was going to do.

However, now, she could only listen to him.

He was the leader of this negotiation.

“Mayor Liang, are we not going to talk anymore?” Wang Yanxing stood up and asked.

“If they don’t lower the price, there’s no point in continuing the discussion.”

Zhao Wen’s expression didn’t look too good. Such an outcome was beyond her expectations.

The prices set by the six major pharmaceutical factories had already risen across the board. Did she not know what was going on?

They were leaving just like that? Did the boss of Huaxia not take his medicine this morning?

Seeing that Liang Ruoxu was really leaving, Zhao Wen couldn’t help but stand up and say,

“Mayor Liang, the price of ibuprofen will remain at 289 for the time being. But right now, the raw materials for medicines around the world are rising. I don’t know what the price will be in the future. If the Huaxia market needs ibuprofen in the future, you can come and negotiate with us then.”

Zhao Wen’s words were a threat. No one here was an idiot, and anyone could understand its meaning.

Lin Yi pricked his ears and said.

“Actually, we came here to give you a chance, but you didn’t cherish it, so we can only say goodbye to you idiots.”

“What do you mean by a chance? Isn’t this second negotiation a chance in and of itself?”

“Not really.”

Lin Yi threw the bottle and the documents in his hand over.

“This is a newly developed proprietary Huaxian medicine, and its effects are the same as ibuprofen.” Lin Yi said.

“You’re from Huaxia, so you be aware of the situation surrounding Huaxian medicine. The side effects from taking them are even weaker. The documents in the paper bag are certificates issued by professional organizations. As for the rest, I won’t say anything else. You can read them yourself.”
