“Director Li, which director is looking for Brother Lin?” Qiao Xin asked.

“Dean Zhao, who is in charge of administration.”

“Is this about what happened at noon?”

Li Chuhan did not hide anything and nodded.

“Let’s go take a look.”

!!
“Brother Lin, you have to control your temper,” Qiao Xin reminded him.

“Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing.”

“You’re a little impulsive when it comes to these things,” Li Chuhan said on the way there.

“It’s mainly because that idiot Cao Jiawang asked them to pay more than 2,000 yuan for something that could be solved with five yuan. Half of the medicine that can’t be named is purely for his commission.”

“It’s been a problem since ancient times, and it’s already become part and parcel of a huge system. Like a big tree, you and I can’t shake it.”

Clearly, Li Chuhan also knew about these things.

However, she was powerless to change it.

It was all she could do to ensure she didn’t participate, but she couldn’t control anyone else.

“Let’s not talk about this anymore. Let’s go and see why Zhao Jianwei is looking for me.”

They took the elevator to Zhao Jianwei’s office.

“Dean Zhao, why are you looking for me?”

Seeing the two of them enter, Zhao Jianwei put down the documents and took off his reading glasses.

“Lin Yi, you just joined the hospital. I understand that you’re impulsive and hot-blooded, but you’re out of line. Do you know how much this will affect our hospital?”

“Affect?” Lin said.

“What did I affect? I just looked at the patient’s chart and prescribed some new medication. I didn’t do anything outrageous, did I?”

Zhao Jianwei frowned. What Lin Yi said was clearly not the answer he wanted.

“We’re all doctors. Let me tell you something.

“Every hospital is doing these things. It’s a tacit understanding. If you expose this truth, it’ll be equivalent to smashing everyone’s rice bowl.”

“What kind of job is this?” Lin Yi shrugged. “No one is holding a knife and forcing them to become doctors, right? Are they here to cheat others of money?

“Look at that silk banner on the wall. It reads ‘Saving lives’. Are you here to save capitalists or civilians?”

“Alright, Doctor Lin, stop talking. I hope you can go back and write your reflection on this matter. As long as you promise not to do such things again, I won’t pursue the matter.”

“Write what?” Lin Yi cursed and left, leaving Zhao Jianwei stunned for a long time.

“Director Li, Lin Yi is too much!”

After Lin Yi left, Zhao Guowei had nowhere to vent his anger. Thus, he directed his anger at Li Chuhan.

“I don’t think Doctor Lin is at fault. It’s a little strange for you to ask him to write a reflection.”

Li Chuhan also opened the door and left.

Li Chuhan did not really take Zhao Jianwei seriously in the face of great justice.

“You!”

Zhao Jianwei trembled in anger. “I must deal with you seriously today!”

…

Seeing Lin Yi return, Qiao Xin quickly went up to him.

“Brother Lin, how was it? Did Director Zhao make things difficult for you?”

“He was really hard on me,” Lin Yi said. “But, I can always just quit.”

“Brother Lin, don’t say that in a fit of anger,” Qiao Xin said. “We were able to get this job because thousands of others failed. It would be a pity if we lost our jobs now.”

“That doesn’t matter. I want to see what he can do to me,” Lin Yi said nonchalantly.

“Just continue with the treatment.”

Lin Yi didn’t care about Zhao Jianwei at all. At most, he would give up this job and start a new career in a few days.

“Alright,” Qiao Xin said sadly.

As they spoke, the emergency room door swung open.

A haggard, long-haired girl walked in, clutching her stomach. She looked to be in her twenties, and was probably a college student.

Seeing the girl enter, Qiao Xin straightened her expression. “Have you finished the scan?”

“Yes, I’m done,” the long-haired girl said nervously when she saw Lin Yi.

Lin Yi didn’t take her too seriously. He was prepared to be Qiao Xin’s assistant and write her medical advice.

“Give me the scan.”

“Here.”

After taking the long-haired girl’s scan, Qiao Xin took a look at it and couldn’t help but frown. She couldn’t figure out the issue even after a long time.

Seeing that Qiao Xin didn’t move for a long time, Lin Yi looked up.

“There’s nothing wrong with the scan.”

“But the girl’s condition is a little strange. I can’t tell what the problem is.”

At this, the long-haired girl was shocked. Tears welled in her eyes.

“Doctor, I don’t have some rare disease, do I? Don’t scare me.”

“Don’t worry. I’ll get Doctor Lin to take a look at you.”

Lin Yi looked up at the long-haired girl.

“Let’s talk about your condition first. How old are you? What are your symptoms?”

“I’m twenty-one today. I had hot pot with my boyfriend yesterday. I didn’t think it was spicy enough, so I asked the waiter to add more chili. I even drank iced Coke. This morning, I had a stomachache, the kind where I can no longer stand. And…”

“And what?” Lin Yi pressed when the girl hesitated.

“And it’s bleeding. Boohoo…” The girl cried harder. “Doctor, do I have some terminal illness? You must not hide it from me…”

“You ate spicy pot, drank iced Coke, and are now?”

“Yeah.”

“Hmm…”

Lin Yi pondered for a moment. “According to the scans, there shouldn’t be any major problems. From my years of clinical experience, you should be on your period.”

“Huh?! I’m on my period?”

“Count the days yourself.”

“Um…”

The long-haired girl was stunned. “Okay, it does seem like this should be around the correct timing…”

Qiao Xin didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Were all emergency patients nowadays so funny?

“Alright, it’s nothing serious. Go home and observe yourself for a few days. From what I can tell from your situation today, there’s still the possibility of blood loss via discharge in a localized area in the future. Moreover, you will experience peak discharge in the next two days. However, after the peak, there will be a clear decline. The discharge is expected to last for five to seven days. Pay attention and make sure you stay warm.”

Shrug.

Qiao Xin and the long-haired girl were both amused.

Lin Yi was too funny.

“Thank you, Doctor.”

The long-haired girl left. Qiao Xin smiled and said, “Brother Lin, this is the first time I’ve seen someone describe a period in such a way. How impressive.”

“It’s nothing. Next,” he called.

Now that the mission progress had reached (99/100), one more patient and the mission would be completed.

Creak.

The emergency room door was pushed open and another woman entered.

“Give me the treatment card…”

“Boss?!”

Lin Yi was stunned when he saw who came in.

“Weren’t you fine earlier when you were in the office? Why did you come for a checkup?”

It was none other than He Yuanyuan.

Qiao Xin was stunned. Brother Lin knew this woman?!

Seeing Lin Yi sitting there in a white robe, He Yuanyuan felt that her worldview was about to collapse.

“President Lin, don’t tell me you’re the doctor here? Don’t you run errands?”
