Lin Yi was still asleep when he heard the clanking sounds coming from inside the house.

His first reaction was to assume that Ji Qingyan had come by.

However, he quickly dismissed this thought.

Ji Qingyan had said that she wouldn’t come to Jiuzhou Pavilion unless he picked her up himself.

Therefore, it couldn’t be her.

!!
Then who could it be?

Lin Yi sat up from the sofa in an instant.

He soon found a slender figure in the kitchen, wearing an apron and cooking.

Liang Ruoxu?

“Hmm? Why’d you come to my house?” Lin Yi asked.

“I was looking to invite you for dinner after I was done with work in the afternoon, but you didn’t reply to your WeChat messages or phone calls. I was afraid something might have happened to you, so I came over to check on you. I didn’t expect you to have fallen asleep.” Liang Ruoxu said.

As she spoke, Liang Ruoxu walked out of the kitchen while carrying a plate of scrambled eggs with tomatoes.

“Where’s my document?”

“I put it in the drawer of the coffee table for you.”

Two dishes and a soup were soon brought to the table. Liang Ruoxu took off her apron and said, “I wanted to invite you out to eat, but you fell asleep, so I could only make some food at your house.”

“You know how to cook? I really couldn’t tell.”

“I learned how after I came to Zhonghai,” Liang Ruoxu said. “I have to be mindful of my identity, so I can’t eat in restaurants every day. Have a taste.”

Lin Yi stretched lazily and picked up a piece of egg to taste. “It’s passable, barely edible.”

“Someone’s going out of their way to do so much for you,” Liang Ruoxu complained. “But I’m surprised that you have so many fruits and vegetables in the fridge as a single man.”

“They were all bought by someone else.”

Liang Ruoxu gave him a knowing look. “They were all bought by other women, weren’t they?

“What kind of man would buy such things?”

Lin Yi didn’t deny it and started eating.

“Do the things you wrote on the paper correspond to the 25 types of imported drugs?”

Lin Yi nodded. “I tried to figure it out just in case. I had to think of a way to deal with Pfizer and the six major pharmaceutical companies since I predict that they are about to make their move.”

Ring, ring, ring…

Before Liang Ruoxu could say anything, the phone in her handbag rang.

“Are you sure?

“I got it. Keep an eye on the other side.

“Okay, that’s all for now.”

The call was simple and to the point. Liang Ruoxu looked at Lin Yi, suddenly having the feeling that he was a master of the universe.

“Why are you looking at me like that? Do you have feelings for me?”

“I want to know how you were raised.”

“Handsome is a hereditary trait. I didn’t want to be so handsome either.” Lin Yi said.

“I look at myself in the mirror every day, and each time I see I have become even more handsome than I did the day before. It’s so annoying. How are other men going to survive with me around?”

“You’re the most narcissistic man in the world.” Liang Ruoxu rolled her beautiful almond eyes. “Just like you said, the six major pharmaceutical companies and Pfizer have already made their move.”

“Are they preparing to ship the goods?”

“How did you know?”

“That’s easy,” Lin Yi said.

“We’re not going to import ibuprofen anymore. During the negotiations during the day, I told Zhao Wen very clearly that Huaxia will soon start developing the 25 imported drugs ourselves. Ibuprofen took three days. As long as their IQ is at a decent level they’ll be able to guess that it won’t take us too long to develop the 25 drugs. It’d be weird if they didn’t panic.

“And we follow the increased price when we ordered the goods. In order to avoid any unforeseen changes in the future, they would definitely ship the goods as soon as possible to quickly pocket the money.”

Lin Yi drank a mouthful of water and continued,

“It takes about a month to ship goods by sea from places like North America and Europe, so it’s very likely that they will ship them by air. Inform the customs at the airport to keep an eye out for them.”

“I’ve already notified the customs,” Liang Ruoxu said.

“It won’t clear the customs for now. When the goods arrive in, we’ll seize them all on the grounds that the product inspection report isn’t up to standard.”

“Do that,” Lin Yi said. “Let me know when you seize the goods.”

Liang Ruoxu nodded, “Actually, we’ve already succeeded up to this point. Although we can’t guarantee that Pfizer’s ibuprofen will be reduced to 9.90 yuan, the price of imported medicine will definitely drop in the future. Our counterattack was very successful.”

“It’d be rude not to reciprocate. This is just the beginning. We have to show them how Huaxia treats their guests.”

“Personally, I’m already very satisfied with this result,” Liang Ruoxu said.

“Do you have anything you want? Policies, interest-free loans, I can approve all of them. I see you have a swimming pool. If you’re interested in seeing me wearing a swimsuit, I’ll go down and swim a few laps for you.”

Lin Yi rubbed his fingers. Only Ji Qingyan knew that this was one of Lin Yi’s habits when he was thinking.

“I want to play a game,” Lin Yi said. “If you really want to thank me, you can play with me.”

Lin Yi shrugged. “After we succeed, then you can give me a swimsuit show.”

Liang Ruoxu looked at Lin Yi seriously. “What are you trying to do?”

“Don’t worry,” Lin Yi said. “Let’s eat first.”

Liang Ruoxu had a feeling that if Lin Yi was saying something like that, then it was very likely something big.

After dinner, Lin Yi put on his underpants and flip-flops and lay down on the bench by the pool.

Liang Ruoxu walked over with red wine in her hand.

“Are you confident that you can make those 25 imported drugs?”

“It’s easy for me to make them, but it’ll be slow to take effect. This is always Huaxian medicine’s weakness, and it can’t compare to Western medicine.” Lin Yi said.

“It’s not a problem for us to make up for this gap. It’ll take some time, and we’ll have to study it slowly.”

The system rewarded the Pharmacopoeia of Internal Medicine, allowing Lin Yi to have a comprehensive understanding of Huaxian medicine.

In his opinion, Huaxian and Western medicine were equally great, and the core difference between them was that Western medicine was good at treating illnesses, while Huaxian medicine was good at treating people.

One focused on the treatment of the affected area, while the other focused on internal recovery.

Although Huaxian medicine was more thorough in terms of treatment, western medicine acted faster.

Therefore, Huaxian medicine could not compete with Western medicine in this aspect.

“Actually, I don’t expect the price of ibuprofen to really be reduced to 9.99 yuan. However, as long as it is reduced to an acceptable price, we will be fine. After this, it will complement the treatment of our proprietary Huaxian medicine. This is the most feasible plan. The only thing we need to do now is to get rid of the stranglehold they have on our necks.

“After this incident, I believe that foreign pharmaceutical companies will be warier of us. Something like this won’t happen again. We might even be able to export our proprietary Huaxian medicine in the future.”

“We will.” Lin Yi supported his head with one hand as he looked at the rippling pool. “But this is only one industry. There’s still a long way to go. There’s still a lot for us to catch up to.”

Liang Ruoxu nodded. “I understand what you mean. You’ve worked hard on this.”

“This road to revival is not easy on anyone.”

“I’ll drink to you.” Liang Ruoxu raised her glass. “I’ll drink to your pure heart.”

“It’s against the law to drink and drive.”

“Then I won’t leave.”
