“Yeah, yeah, but that girl was a little too much.” Qiao Xin said.

“You can’t just bring up divorce like that.”

“Alright, you two stop talking nonsense. Focus on your own matters, don’t worry about others.”

“Yeah, yeah.”

After checking the wards, the three went back to the lounge to eat.

!!
Ring, ring, ring…

Lin Yi’s phone rang during the meal. It was a call from Liang Ruoxu.

“At two o’clock in the afternoon. We have a meeting at the Zhonghai Drug Administration’s Centre for Disease Control. Don’t be late.”

“Okay.”

After hanging up, Lin Yi realized that it was already one o’clock. He finished his meal and said,

“Director Li, I have something to do in the afternoon, so I won’t be joining.”

“Okay, go.”

Lin Yi parked his car at the entrance of the CDC at 1:50 pm.

Liang Ruoxu was waiting for him there.

“Have you eaten lunch?”

“I came in the middle of it.”

“I’ll treat you tonight. Order whatever you want. I’ll make it up to you.”

“Then can you make it up to me if I say that I came here in the middle of releasing my pent-up frustrations?”

“Make it up to you, my *ss!

“Seriously, this is the CDC.” Liang Ruoxu said.

“What’s wrong? Can’t the CDC approve of our romance? It’s only just starting to bloom.”

“Stop talking nonsense.”

Liang Ruoxu pulled out a skill that every woman knew and pinched Lin Yi’s waist. “Come on, let’s go to the meeting.”

“You’re too violent.”

“Who told you to spout nonsense?”

“Sis!”

As the two walked in, they suddenly heard someone talking.

They turned around and saw a girl in her twenties standing next to a middle-aged man with a smile in her eyes.

The man was dressed normally, with a light blue striped shirt, black suit pants, and black leather shoes. His hair was split into seventy-thirty part, and he looked like a middle-aged cadre.

The young woman was dressed fashionably. She wore a black Louis Vuitton jacket on the outside and a white collared shirt on the inside. Although her assets were not big, her cleavage was showing, and a third of it was exposed.

“Yanyan, why are you here?”

Seeing the young woman, Liang Ruoxu was first surprised, then pleasantly surprised.

“My father asked me to come. He wants me to learn more from Professor Wu and see if I can help you.”

“Professor Wu?” Liang Ruoxu asked suspiciously. It was obvious thats he didn’t know this person.

“Let me introduce you,” the young woman said. “This is Director Wu of Yanjing Huaxian Medical Hospital.”

“Professor Wu, this is my sister, Liang Ruoxu. I won’t say too much about her identity, as I’m sure you’re already aware.”

After introducing Liang Ruoxu, the young woman turned to look at Lin Yi. “So this is the mystery man A. I don’t even know his name.”

Lin Yi, “???”

The introductions were all going fine and dandy, so why was he simply referred to as the mystery man.

‘Don’t I deserve a name?’

Liang Ruoxu was also amused by the mystery man nickname.

“If you don’t know his name, can you at least tell me you got to know him as the mystery man A. What does that even mean?” Liang Ruoxu said.

“That’s what Grandpa Liang calls him, so that’s what I call him.”

Lin Yi, “???”

After all this time, the name ended up being given by Liang Ruoxu’s grandpa.

“I’m impressed.” Liang Ruoxu rolled his eyes. “His name is Lin Yi, and he’s my friend. She’s my sister Chen Yan, and her father was my grandpa’s student. We grew up together.”

“So his name is Lin Yi.” Chen Yan said meaningfully. “I have to report this to Grandpa Liang.”

“I think you’re here to spy for the military.”

“Don’t say that.” Chen Yan said. “I’m just curious about who the person who secretly pushed you up is.”

“What are you saying? Seriously, it’s completely different when you phrase it like that.”

After saying that, Liang Ruoxu extended her hand toward Wu Daoliang. “Sorry to trouble you, Director Wu.”

“It’s all my responsibility. Mayor Liang is too polite.”

“Alright, it’s about time. Let’s go in first. Don’t make the others wait for too long.”

After exchanging their respective identities, the group of people walked in.

Because they had to take into account Wu Daoliang’s identity, Chen Yan did not walk with Liang Ruoxu. Instead, she followed beside him.

At the same time, she fastened the buttons on her Louis Vuitton jacket.

“What a pity.”

“What’s so pitiful?”

“The buttons have been fastened.”

“Where are you looking?” Liang Ruoxu rolled his eyes at Lin Yi.

“So fierce.”

Liang Ruoxu, “…”

Couldn’t you be a little more tactful?

“It’s so small, how could it catch your eye?”

“It’s not as big as yours, but you’re blocking it completely. You’re not being friendly at all. Look at her. She’s small, but she’s full of sincerity. This is how we Huaxians should treat our guests.”

“What kind of logic is that? How can she be so brazen? In all of Huaxia, you’re probably the only one who thinks like that,” Liang Ruoxu said.

“But let me tell you in advance. My grandfather told me before that there would be a big shot coming over. He is probably Director Wu. He didn’t mention that this little girl Chen Yan would also be tagging along. She’s the best at nitpicking things.”

“She knows Huaxian medicine?”

“She is a first year doctoral student from Yanjing University’s School of Traditional Huaxian Medicine and Pharmacy.”

“What the f*ck? From the looks of it, she doesn’t seem to be studying traditional Huaxian medicine.”

“What do you think of her now?”

“Ask her to give me cupping therapy when she has the time.”

Liang Ruoxu, “…”

The group of people soon arrived at the CDC conference room.

At this moment, there were more than ten people sitting in the conference room. All of them had white hair. Among them was a familiar face, Zhao Dongmei.

Seeing Liang Ruoxu and Wu Daoliang enter, everyone present stood up and greeted them.

Liang Ruoxu’s identity might not be much, but in the field of traditional Huaxian medicine, Wu Daoliang was the person who stood at the top of the pyramid. Even Zhao Dongmei had to address him as Director Wu.

After a simple self-introduction, everyone took their seats. Liang Ruoxu said,

“Today’s meeting is mainly to discuss some matters. I hope that everyone can express their opinions and give a few new prescriptions for guidance. We are trying to develop a patented Huaxian medicine that can replace imported drugs as soon as possible.”

In reality, today’s meeting was to discuss the clinical possibilities of new drugs.

However, Liang Ruoxu was smart enough to change the topic secretly. She didn’t need to do much to cover up for Lin Yi.

“Okay, okay, okay…”

Everyone nodded in agreement. They were smart enough to see through Liang Ruoxu’s intentions.

This was a formal meeting. The theme was for everyone to put their best foot forward. Thus, there was no need to be so calculative.

The process had to go smoothly, and the ending had to be a happy one too. It was that simple.

The meeting started, and the atmosphere was much better than the previous day’s negotiation.

At the same time, a prescription appeared on the big screen. It was the proprietary Huaxian medicine that could replace ibuprofen.

“Mr. Lin, I want to know the origin of this prescription. Can you give me and the other experts a clear and reasonable explanation?”

Chen Yan was the first to ask the question. She wasn’t as quirky as before and was very serious.

“The Pharmacopoeia of Internal Medicine.”

Chen Yan’s serious expression not something Lin Yi expected. It seemed like it would be a little difficult to deal with her.

Liang Ruoxu sat at the side peacefully. If Chen Yan didn’t come, today’s meeting would just be a formality.

However, since she had come here, Lin Yi had to think of a way to deal with it.

She wasn’t as obedient as the other experts.

“But the Pharmacopoeia of Internal Medicine has been long lost, and there’s only a small portion of it left. Where did you get it from?”

“It was passed down by my grandfather, and I can’t explainit in detail. If you really have any questions about it, I’ll get him to talk to you tonight,” Lin Yi said.

“Then why don’t you get him to come here now? Since all the experts are here, it’ll be convenient to discuss the matter.”

“It’s not appropriate for him to come here now.”

“Why is it not appropriate? Are you lying? I hope Mr. Lin will be more serious about this matter. This is not a child’s play.”

Chen Yan was very aggressive, clearly separating her work from her personal life.

Liang Ruoxu’s expression was bitter as he cursed in his heart, “Wait until the meeting is over, I’ll teach you a lesson!”

“There’s no need to lie about such a trivial matter. My grandfather has been dead for more than thirty years, so it won’t be appropriate to invite him out in broad daylight,” Lin Yi said.

“Besides, he’ll have to ask for a leave of absence if he comes out at this time. KPI’s are becoming increasingly popular in the underworld now, so let’s wait until he gets off work at night.”
