Rebirth: Starting with 10 Billion Us Dollars

99: Chapter 99 Technological Collapse, Gold and Crude Oil Price Surge (Part 1)In the top-floor trading room of the Tianxing Building, Chen Mo leaned back on the leather sofa in the command center, playing with his phone.

At that moment, Zhao Yuan walked over, holding a tablet as he reported:

”Boss Chen, the 2 billion long positions in gold and crude oil have all been filled. The prices were all as you requested, and we managed to secure most at lower levels.”

Chen Mo looked up at the numbers on the large screen and asked:

”No abnormalities in the market, right?”

”None at the moment!”

Zhao Yuan nodded.

”Everyone in the trading room is monitoring the foreign markets—us stocks, gold, crude oil. No anomalies so far; everything is moving in the direction you predicted. Now we’re just waiting for news from Ukraine.”

Chen Mo gave an acknowledging hum and lowered his head to continue playing with his phone:

”No need to rush; the main event hasn’t started yet. Tell the team to stay steady, no reckless moves. Ensure logistics are well arranged.”

Zhao Yuan responded, ”Don’t worry, Boss Chen. I’ve already taken care of everything!”

In the blink of an eye, it was time for the US stock market to open.

All eyes were fixed on the large screen. Before long, Zhao Yuan approached Chen Mo and said:

”Boss Chen, our pre-market short positions in tech stocks have all started showing floating profits since the opening auction!”

”Hmm, keep monitoring.”

Chen Mo said.

”Boss Chen, look! The Nasdaq opened down 0.9% directly, and Amazon is falling again!”

Zhao Yuan exclaimed from beside him.

On the large screen, red downward arrows were densely packed. Amazon had opened down over 11%, with Facebook and Twitter following closely, down 6.3% and 7.8% respectively. The Nasdaq Internet Index plunged 3.5% directly, turning into a sea of red.

”Excellent!”

Seeing this, Zhao Yuan couldn’t help but let out a low cheer before turning to Chen Mo:

”Boss Chen, the floating profits on the short positions are starting to climb! It’s already at 25%!”

Chen Mo gave a faint smile:

”That’s normal; this is just the beginning. Pass the word down: the more they fall, the more we add. As long as tech stocks keep dropping, keep adding to the short positions. Don’t hesitate or hold back.”

”Understood, Boss Chen!”

Zhao Yuan immediately spoke into his headset:

”Attention all traders in the trading room: increase short positions in tech stocks as planned. The more they fall, the more we add. No hesitation whatsoever!”

After receiving the instruction, the traders’ fingers flew into action, sending out one order after another to add positions.

Not long after, Zhao Yuan reported:

”Boss Chen! Floating profits are at 35%! Amazon has already fallen over 13%, and liquidity is drying up fast. Sell orders are piling up densely; it’s almost impossible to sell!”

Upon hearing this, Chen Mo didn’t respond. Instead, he opened a forum, projected it onto the large screen, and began scrolling through the discussions.

At this very moment, chaos reigned across major stock forums, futures forums, and forex groups, filled with cries of despair and complaints:

”Help! The US stock market crashed right at the open! I’m heavily invested in Amazon and already down 30%. I’m going insane!”

”Facebook and Twitter are both falling. My tech stock fund hit the limit down. I’ve lost years of savings in this! It’s over—how am I supposed to explain this at home?!”

”To the person above, go home and kneel on instant noodles!”

”The price of overvaluation! Chasing tech stocks like mad before, and now look—they’ve fallen so hard even their own mothers wouldn’t recognize them. I feel like slapping myself twice!”

”The Federal Reserve tightening QE is truly fatal. Capital is fleeing everywhere. Tech stocks can’t hold up at all. When will this downtrend end?!”

”Tech stocks are bleeding losses right now!”

”Anyone buying gold on the dip? I chased it higher earlier and made a small profit, but I’m still panicking, afraid of a pullback!”

”Don’t buy the dip! The market is too chaotic right now. Anyone who buys the dip is doomed! I bought tech stocks on the dip this morning and I’m already down 20%. I want to cry but have no tears!”

”The person above is a tough one! How dare they buy the dip in this!”

”Are those institutions on Wall Street just for show?”

”Exactly! Before, they were shouting about a long-term bull market for tech stocks. Now they’re not even making a peep. They’ve screwed over us retail investors!”

”I heard things are about to blow up in Ukraine. Once geopolitical risks rise, gold and crude oil are definitely going to rally. Should I quickly go long on crude oil?”

”Don’t be impulsive! crude oil has already started rising, but who knows if the situation might ease? If it falls, you’ll get liquidated instantly!”

”I’m getting slaughtered shorting crude oil! I thought the geopolitical conflict was just a rumor, but it’s really escalating. I’m going to lose everything!”

”Institutional views are all over the place. Some say the bottom is in, others say it’ll trigger a financial crisis. Who should we listen to?”

”Listening to anyone is useless! Right now, we’re like fish on the chopping block, just waiting to be slaughtered as Chinese chives. It’s too brutal!”

Zhao Yuan remarked from the side:

”Boss Chen, look at these people—either suffering heavy losses or panicking like crazy. It’s like a completely different world compared to our side.”

Chen Mo shook his head as he watched the forum discussions on the large screen:

”Wall Street’s money isn’t so easy to take.”

As soon as the words left his mouth, Zhao Yuan pointed to a news alert on another part of the large screen:

”Boss Chen! Major news! The conflict in eastern Ukraine has escalated across the board!”

Chen Mo looked at the news pop-up on the large screen:
