Super Electric Eel Avatar

228 Something Is Behind
When playing with a rocket launcher, all you need to be aware of is the airflow behind it. Even if there are any obstacles, it’ll be fine, because they will be deflected.

”Boom! Boom! Boom!” The knocking was still ringing continuously. Perhaps it was due to the disproportionate brain volume of the creature as compared to the size of its limbs, and thus, it ran into the cave again and again, and even stared at the electrical eel with its small black eyes.

Over 150 meters away, the camouflaged armored personnel carrier was ignored directly.

In a three-point line!

Chen Fan aimed at the creature’s head with his focusing caliper. Then, after taking in few heavy breaths, he pressed the red trigger button with his right index finger.

”Pa!” The moment he pressed the trigger, he felt like his whole body was shocked by electricity, which was then immediately followed up with a thunderous voice resounding in his left ear.

Then about 150 meters away, as soon as that green rocket was launched by the explosives and flew for several dozen meters, the rocket thrusters at the rear and the wings started to kick in, spinning and accelerating the rocket toward its target.

”Boom!” The rocket rumbled, as it ripped through the sky and hit the creature hard, like Thor’s hammer.

Dazzling sparks surrounded the creature within 0.02 seconds, accompanied by a boom as loud as an earthquake. The deadliest part of the artillery tractor was the U-shape detonation hood, which could launch the frontal metal shell with a powerful impulsive force.

Though the effective range of the metal stream was less than 50 cm, the concentrated impact would be devastating, destroying armor like how a chopstick would crumble tofu. How could the unknown creature made of carbohydrates withstand it?

When the dust cleared away and the flames dissipated, the sight before the eel made it growl without rest.

”Ah! Ah!”

The sight of a fluffy, furry creature that was covered in thick scales and had sharp ears and was laying on the floor, combined with the rocks that had been blackened by the explosion, created a stark contrast to the bright-red pieces of meat. All of this made the scene seem even messier than a masterpiece from Paul Klee, the master of abstractionism.

Meanwhile, behind the brain of the creature, a bucket-sized hole poked through the spine, horrifyingly. Enduring the bloody stench, the eel finally got to see the true face of that creature, after poking the spear right into that hole and hooking its dead body out from there.

”A pangolin?” The electrical eel stared at the slender creature in a surprise. Even though the armor-penetrating metal shell to break the armor had spread after going through the creature, turning its entire back into a slurry of flesh and blood, Chen Fan could still make out the species of the creature from its 6m long tail and sharp, deformed claws.

Pangolins on the earth are a meter long, at most, and are expert drillers. They could dig a two-meter-long tunnel within an hour. But of course, despite being known as ”Mountain Piercing Armors” in Chinese, they could not pierce through rocks, unless they coated their claws with magical Indian ointment.

So, with that in mind, could this 13-meter-long, 2.5-meter-high pangolin actually dig through such a hard and sturdy rock? Shaking its head in disbelief, the electrical eel gripped its claws and started scratching a rock by the side. Out of its expectation, the rock did not gave way, splitting like a soft tofu, but instead, a deep mark was left behind.

What’s left, after having cleared the cave, would be to investigate the surrounding environment. He would handle this investigation, equipped with a flashlight tied on his head, two large-scaled Beretta guns on his waist, and a M249 class machine gun in his hand, of course.

Worried, Chen Fan came out of the vehicle, only after attaching another 5 grenades to his back. He then stepped into the cave with caution.

The entrance of cave was about three meters high, and the wall was as smooth as if it had been polished with care. After walking about thirty meters, the lighting in the cave dimmed. When Chen Fan made a forty-five degree turn, the pathway suddenly widened, like a grand hall.

It’s 35 meters wide, 10 meters high, and 37 meters long girth had some stink within its dry air, along with many hay branches that were lying on the ground. According to Chen Fan’s estimation, this should be a naturally formed cave, but it had since became a territory of pangolins, and only the bumpy parts were decorated. Since it was made of hard grey granite, if the pangolins really did dig a hole this big, they probably had to start digging from their ancestors’ generations.

The torchlight on his head continued turning. When he was about to complete his scanning, he noticed that there was a 6m wide oval huge round rock at the left side of the cave wall.

At first, Chen Fan didn’t pay much attention to it, as he thought that it was only an ordinary rock. Yet, it had moved slightly when his torchlight shone on it for a few seconds.

”Hell!” Chen Fan’s eyes squinted instantly. What kind of rock was that? It was clearly a huge pangolin, which had rolled into a ball, due to the abnormally bright light.

Accompanying the muscle twitches all over his body, the M249 machine gun growled as it spat out flames of death. Such a large weapon, which could be fed with an ammunition belt, only needs to match with a 300-round hard plastic cartridge for the trigger to be locked and fired nonstop. Then, it could even scatter a long-distance bus into pieces within 25 seconds!

Ratatatatatat.

The continued roar of bullets striked through the sky, completely proving to Chen Fan the power of weapons that were created by humans for carnage.

The pangolin immediately bounced, when he tasted the first bullet. Unfortunately, the second bullet that followed tore its scales, and the third, and the fourth ... When the seventh bullet hit it, it was already wailing on the ground, defenseless against the remaining bullets that raged upon him.

Take the Smith and Wesson M500 revolver, which was much vaunted on the Internet, as an example: It was known to be capable of killing an 8-ton African elephant, with just one shot. The M500 could eject bullets with 3500 joules of force, while the gun Chen Fan was using could produce 2400 joule. Could you imagine a 10-meters-long pangolin resisting the impact?

By the time Chen Fan emptied the magazine, half of the limbs of the pangolin were gone, leaving it mutilated beyond recognition! Looking at the fleshly slurry of the pangolin, his heart couldn’t endure his own mercilessness. But, he could not live a day without meat, and when he remembered slicing fish into thin slices, he thought he had done worse than this.

People are indeed funny sometimes. They had no feelings when they pinched ants like clay, or even when they were dissecting poultry and eating their organs. Yet, people would come out to accuse, if they saw others killing animals. Such touching speeches, such righteousness..

Chen Fan thought it was more cruel to eat an animal than to merely kill it. Imagine if we bringing animals up to the perceptions of human. Then, we might accept murdering, but what about eating human meat?

After checking the cave for another round, to ensure that he did not miss anything or fail to discover any secret paths, Chen Fan held the empty gun and ran to the outside to take some fresh air. He did this because the air inside the cave was really terrible, especially when mixed with the bloody smell.

Throwing away the machine gun, Chen Fan sat next to the electrical eel and started considering to send it back to retrieve the steel cable, which was hooked by a titanium hook. Otherwise, the corpse would be left inside unattended!

Of course, he dared not stay at one place, especially since it was a place filled with monsters. He quickly jumped into his armored vehicle and shut the doors tightly.

His fears were not superfluous. The electric eel had just left for less than two minutes. Chen Fan, who was lying in the back seat, heard a scream from the outside of the armored vehicle, as well as the sound of chewing bones, which would give people goosebumps.

With a bounce, he flicked up from his seat and looked toward the front window. His pupils were enlarged and his mouth dried up. Next to the dead pangolin, two hyena-like animals with short and round heads, sharp teeth, and irregular black-brown dots were there, having been attracted unknowingly.

Chen Fan, who had watched Lion King Simba and the World of Animals from his youth, was certainly not unfamiliar with such animals. He could finally see with his own eyes the grace of such antagonists of those said cartoons, of whom he had hated for their harassing of Simba nonstop in the movies!

The creatures before him now were gigantic creatures, 5m long, with hair standing on its back, and a stare that would make babies burst out in tears with fear. Chen Fan could not find the words to describe the ferocity of those two hyena-alike animals, as that pangolin could’ve been enough for them to eat for a few days, and yet, they fought over a piece of organ and were bleeding as a result.

”I...I remember that hyenas were communal animals...so, did they have a grudge over women?” Chen Fan looked at the two hyenas, which were screaming and spurting blood. It was like a scene from another world, one that was truly full of amazement.

The two had shown their cruelty, going to the extreme of biting each other for half a minute. At the end, they were both defeated, one with his stomach being torn off, and another, with its ears bitten off and claws fractured.

”Awool! Wool!”

Their howls were so depressing, even the howling from ghosts and wolves were a hundred times better than theirs. There were still ten minutes remaining for the eel’s return, who could then finish them off. Thus, Chen Fan had no choice but to endure the howling.

”Get rid of them!” Chen Fan’s cerebral cortex was dancing madly.

”Ceng Ceng!”

He ran towards the car boot and replaced the magazine of his M249. Then, he opened the roof cap on top. He aimed at the two wounded hyenas and pressed the trigger.

In the mountains, it’s impossible for wolves and dogs to live as a group. Thus, he wasn’t afraid of getting into any territorial troubles at all! It would also be fine, even if he had triggered them, since it would be a huge joke, like if an elephant got tripped by ants and fell.

”Ratatatatat!”

The ”fire dragon”, which now adjoined in a line, had only howled for ten seconds, when the two hyenas were shot by the bullet with an ultrasonic speed, stopping all their movements.

”The world now is finally quiet...” After taking in few relieving breathes, Chen Fan could now understand why the monkey king in the ”Journey to the West” wished to kill ”Tang Seng”. It was because his body would get refreshed and his mind would clear right after that!

He kept his guns and was preparing to close the door of the vehicle, when his figure stopped suddenly, his heart pulsing rapidly.

”Hey!”

The low-pitched scream came to its back, accompanied by a bloody wind that would blow people away!
