Super Electric Eel Avatar

218 An Ammunition Ship
Apart from the difference between their feathers and body size, the rest were pretty much similar. Presumably, if they followed this kind of incubation method, the success rate ought to be very high.

After dealing with the egg incubator, Chen Fan once again logged into UBS Switzerland’s website, to check on his account and to see whether the company had remitted the money to him.

The moment he logged into his personal internet banking system, the system notified him that someone had remitted a total of JP¥19.4 billion into his account at 2 p.m. that day.

Chen Fan immediately converted this money into American dollars. After deducting 0.1% of a service charge, there was still 2.38 hundred million US dollars remaining.

This money, along with the previous balance in his account, would come to a total of US $1.85 billion. Furthermore, he had more than five hundred million yuan available on his domestic credit card. If he converted the sum of everything into yuan, then it would be a total of ¥12.8 billion.

This number, added together with value of the giant ship, could easily squeeze Chen Fan into the top 100 of the 2010 Hurun Rich List. Thus, he could be considered as being a completely invisible billionaire.

The next day, the first thing that Chen Fan did after crawling out of bed was to run over to the egg incubator and gently flip over the eagle egg, so that it could be evenly heated. After seeing that there were no problems with the the parameters shown on the electronic controller, only then did he go off to brush his teeth, wash his face, and start his work.

Usually for breakfast, he would pour himself a glass of milk and fry two eggs, or cook a packet of Master Kong instant noodles. After having his stomach filled, Chen Fan conveniently pulled out a packet of instant noodles from its carton, then went into the submarine that Nakagawa Emi was imprisoned within.

When Chen Fan opened the metal door, she was curled up motionlessly in a corner. It was only after Chen Fan walked forward and nudged her with the tip of his foot, that she weakly moved.

”Water...water...I want to drink water!” Nakagawa Emi raised her head and said with a hoarse voice.

”Are you hungry, then?” Chen Fan squatted down and said with a smile, ”You can have all these, but only if you cooperate with me. I presume that, since so much time has passed, you must have figured out how to compensate me for the effect which that occurence had on me. You can tell me now, and if I’m satisfied with it, then you can have this food and water!”

”I’ll give you all my savings, alright?” Nakagawa Emi hesitated for three to five seconds, before revealing a number that surprised Chen Fan. ”I have more than 30 million worth of savings, stock securities worth the market value of 600 million and two 430 square feet houses in Tomson Riviera. I also own 50% of shares in a listed company that is worth 1.1 billion yuan. As long as you release me, I’ll transfer all these assets to you.”

Although Chen Fan was extremely rich, he was still shocked at this young girl’s worth. After all, Japan was the model of a patriarchal society, whereby, unlike the relationships between men and women domestically, it was slanted to the point of deformity. Over there, women were isolated from almost everything having to do with management, and their occupations were solely to take care of their husbands and children.

Considering how Nakagawa Emi had so many assets within her grasp, she must have some extraordinary skills. Otherwise, it wouldn’t make sense for her clan to allow a woman to run a company overseas, especially since their numbers had yet to wither.

”No, no, no. Other than the savings of more than 30 million, there’s no point in owning the house and shares. Furthermore, money is not all that attractive to me. To be honest, if it wasn’t because of the fact that it’s troublesome, I could gather over a trillion worth of assets within one month. So, I will have to ask you to use other things to impress me,” Chen Fan replied.

Nakagawa Emi chuckled unconvincingly. Over a trillion worth of assets? Do you think you’re Obama? Can you order the US Federal Reserve to print an additional one trillion dollars?

Although this was what she thought, she of course would not say it out loud. Instead, she tried to be as gentle as she could with her tone, replying, ”Then...then what exactly do you want?”

Chen Fan did not answer her. First, he walked to the kitchen and returned, carrying a glass of water. Then, he yanked off the cloth on her forehead. He swayed the cup of clear water and instant noodles in front of her, then said with a tempting tone, ”Since you have the ability to be sent over to China to take charge of something, then you must be rather smart. So, think for yourself now.”

”Okay!” Nakagawa Emi’s tone was hard, like she had just eaten a rolling pin. Once she finished speaking, she closed her eyes and lifted her chest slightly.

When there was still no movement after half a minute, she hesitantly opened her eyes, just in time to see Chen Fan looking like a pufferfish, his eyes wide in disbelief.

”Are you out of your mind?” Chen Fan rewarded her with a moronic expression. ”I’m not that overwhelmed by lust. Looks like you’re not as smart as I thought you were.”

”Then what do you want to do?” Nakagawa Emi’s chapped lips were already bitten to the point of bleeding. Although she hid it very well, Chen Fan could still detect ’the desire to hack him into small pieces’ emitting from her eyes.

”It’s very simple. You could use your brain to think of how to get your clan in real trouble. It’ll be best if it is related to the sea, since your elder brother here is acquainted with a lot of pirates.”

”Hmph!” Nakagawa Emi sneered, before responding to Chen Fan with the same look that he had given her.

”Oh, I didn’t know that you had such a strong sense of honor toward your clan.” Chen Fan sneered, as he downed the water in the cup in one go. He refused to believe that a woman, who had been spoiled and pampered since her childhood, could liberate an iron will of the People’s Liberation Army.

”Then, don’t blame me for being too cruel!” Once he finished speaking, he disappeared from the room with a few steps.

”What does he want to do?” Nakagawa Emi felt uncomfortable and uneasy, as she looked at the open door. She did not feel safe, as she was unable to move around freely.

Five minutes went by. There was the sound of footsteps outside. Subsequently, Chen Fan left and returned. The evil smile on his lips, as well as the unnamed bottles and jars in his arms, made Nakagawa Emi slowly fall into a speechless and enormous abyss of tension.

”Ha ha ha ha...” Chen Fan walked toward her with a sinister smile, placing the bottles and jars on the floor, before introducing them one by one.

”Can you see this? These are salt, pepper, chilli powder, 13 spices, wasabi, vinegar, soy sauce, fermented bean curd, etc.” Everytime he mentioned a name, he would open its corresponding capsule. Then, he would pour them onto a piece of cloth. The first few were still fine, but when he mixed the wasabi and fermented bean curd together, the smell produced almost made Chen Fan gag out his breakfast.

The dense and strange smell produced by the subsequent addition of the 13 spices, vinegar, and soy sauce seemed to be stronger than the ’stink bomb’ used by the Marine Animal Protection Association to attack Japan’s whale catching ships! Chen Fan made a retching sound twice, then immediately held his breath, before using a chopstick to mix the colorful melange evenly.

As for Nakagawa Emi, who was just opposite him, she tried her best to control her feelings of anxiousness and to calm herself down. But her efforts were futile, as the cold sweat oozing from her pale forehead and her attempts to swallow the lump in her throat had already visibly revealed the fear in her heart.

After exhaling a long breath, Chen Fan pinched his nose and pointed at the cloth on the floor, before saying with a queer tone, ”Do you see this? I don’t think I have to explain how lethal this thing can be. If you still refuse to realize your error, then I will cover your face with this, and then use a plastic bag to bind it together.”

”Don’t...don’t...you dare!” Her complexion went as white as a piece of paper, and the veins on the surface of her skin began pulsating. If he really covered her face with this thing...

She simply could not figure out the outcome, but it would definitely be crueler than any other torture in this world...

”I’ll give you one minute to think it over! Also, I want to remind you that you should think it through carefully before answering. Don’t let an act of impulse lead to an irreversible outcome.”

After feeling that the terrifying atmosphere built by himself was enough, Chen Fan moved away from that piece of densely strange and stinky smelling cloth, before continuing his threats. ”I want to give you a small reminder that I will bind this cloth to your face tightly. So, if you can’t stand that sort of strange smell and end up vomiting…”

Before Chen Fan could finish, he made a retching sound twice again. Merely imagining this sort of thing was heinous enough.

Nakagawa Emi was trembling from head to toe. The feeling of disgust and fear almost made her black out. When she heard the words ’vomit’, her body started to tremble harder.

”Ah, say...I’ll say it…” She screeched, before burying her head close to the corner. It was as if that piece of cloth on the floor had been superimposed with a ’magic spiritual attack’ by a mage!

”Then, hurry up and say it.” Chen Fan was feeling extremely pompous, as he stood at the side.

”Three days later, a 50,000 ton car carrier under my clan’s banner will be transporting 64 Arzamas Machine-Building Plant’s newly developed wheeled armored personnel carrier, as well as some conventional weapons and ammunition from America,” Nakagawa Emi jeered. ”If you can hijack this cargo ship, then our clan will be severely punished by the ruling party.”

”Truly, 64 armored personnel carriers?” Chen Fan’s eyes were emitting greenish glows. ”What’s their route? And what’s their hull number?”

”Are you crazy?” Nakagawa Emi was shocked by his wolf-like gaze. The only reason why she told Chen Fan that this transport ship was her clan’s, was because she wanted to satirize his arrogance and tell him not to let it go to his head, just because he was acquainted with a few pirates. She didn’t think that he would have such a strong interest in it, much less that interest be accompanied by an expression of ’I’m going to hijack it’.

”Stop talking rubbish. Hurry up and tell me all that you know!” Chen Fan waved his hands impatiently. The moment she took a glimpse at the cloth on the floor, Nakagawa Emi’s complexion went ghastly pale.

This could not be considered as a complicated matter. As a defeated nation in the Second World War, Japan’s advancement in its military force had been greatly restricted, especially in terms of the construction of special forces.

As for Japan’s Ground Self-Defense Force’s 1st Airborne Division’s 101th Airborne Brigade, it was announced to the world as an ordinary airborne troop. But, in reality, it was a special commando unit. When they were carrying out their anti-terrorist operations, they would be dressed in coats belonging to the police.

This time, the armored personnel carriers were bought from America in order to be utilized in carrying out rapid infiltration missions. Due to the fact that armored personnel carriers did not belong to any category of weapons which had an export ban, the large countries with an output of ammunition could buy them, as long as they paid the right amount of money.

That is why Japan did not attach any great importance to it, and gave this transportation task to the Nakagawa clan, who had a lot of collaborative projects with the military. The Nakagawa clan was ordered to assign a cargo ship that could transport vehicles from their collection of large ships under their banner, in order to go to America and bring the armored cars back.

This time, there was only one ship going to America. Apart from a team of more than 20 military security personnel, there were no other escort ships. After all, they were in peacetime, so there was absolutely no need to waste this sort of money on such things.

Furthermore, the team of more than 20 military security personnel was only sent to supervise the workers on the ship. There was no history of pirates on the route from Japan to America.

Additionally, the act of using a civilian cargo ship to transport ammunition was a method that 90% of countries would use when transporting conventional weapons. This was because a civilian cargo ship could carry a large amount of cargo. When it was sailing, it could save shipping costs versus its using the military vessel, which placed more importance on its performance than its consumption.

In fact, more importantly, the usage of a civilian cargo ship would not cause any diplomatic disputes, as sending a warship to another country was a behavior which would make both the buyer and seller uneasy.

PS: There are 3,000 words in this chapter. I’ve spent a lot of time on doing research, as well as planning out the plot, before staying up all night to add on another 2,000 words.

There shouldn’t be any outrageous parts in the plot this time, because every time a country wants to transport conventional weapons, they would use only one civilian ship. To all my readers, please do not assume that an ammunition ship should have a large amount of escort fleets with more than 10 helicopters circling around it. There is absolutely no need for this in peacetime. Only after travelling to the open sea, would they need armed personnel in order to keep the pirates away.
