215 There are Ghosts Here!
”Humph!” Nakagawa Emi curled up in the corner of the room in silence. Of course, she could tolerate not eating for two meals. It was just that she felt slightly thirsty.

”I don’t wish to talk much with you. I’m too lazy to do that. Just count yourself as unlucky that I caught you.” Chen Fan walked in front of her and stared at her from above. ”While you still have the strength, you better think about how to pay for your mistake. I have a small personal problem. It’s called, ’being greedy as hell.’ You wouldn’t be able to satisfy me unless you think of some really huge compensation. Of course, I have many more problems than that, such as ’by hook or by crook’ and ’an eye for an eye.’”

”Can you free me first or put me in a room with a heater instead? It is really freezing in here!” This lady came from a rich family and lived every day in gorgeous clothing and accessories. Making her lie motionlessly for a few hours on the cold, iron floor was almost killing her.

”Freezing? Oh god, do you know where you are?”

Chen Fan made a very exaggerated expression and exclaimed, ”This is an abandoned cavern somewhere on Canglong Hill, Zhongyun. Five hundred years ago, the Ming Dynasty general Yuan Ling An used this place to hide his soldiers. Later, Qing Dynasty soldiers blocked the opening and burnt this place for five days and nights, and everyone inside was suffocated to death. Over the last few centuries, nobody’s dared to come here, because this place is haunted. At midnight, people often hear ghostly howls coming from here, and there are many skeletons left around. I was forced by the police and had no choice but to turn the bottom of the cave into a refuge. You still dare to choose another room?”

If a local were here instead, he would surely despise Chen Fan for what he just said because there is no such cavern at Canglong Hill!

But Nakagawa Emi would not know that. Chen Fan sounded so convincing in his fake story that her face instantly turned pale. She was scared not of the ghosts, but of the environment.

After speaking, Chen Fan pulled back his shoulder and smiled slyly. He then closed the metal door. Bang!

Returning to the stone tower, Chen Fan opened the computer and sent an email to the Ohno Group.

It was not to ask for a ransom to release Nakagawa Emi but to remind them about the liquidated damages and that the next day would be the crude oil delivery day...

Out of the seven oil wells, Chen Fan destroyed three. The remaining four would not be able to satisfy Chen Fan’s needs and those of their other clients no matter what.

On the agreement, it was stated that during every delivery day, the group must give him exactly 3,000,000 barrels. Even if they could give 2,000,000, they would still need to pay the full liquidated damages. They then had to keep drilling and only hand over the product when they had the right amount.

”D*mn. When can we finish repairing the oil wells?”

In the Takeda Building in Shinjuku, Goro Ota almost broke the office table into two. His eyes were extremely red. The next day was already delivery day and yet the three oil wells just managed to bring up the damaged components from the seabed in the morning.

”Answer me. I need a precise date.” His face and voice were so cold that everyone almost felt like they were freezing on the spot. As he looked across the room with his unpleasant gaze, everyone started lowering their heads, as if a gust of wind had blown past a grassland.

”Five, five days. Even if the valve is transported by air, it will require two days to complete. This does not even include the time needed to install it after it arrives.” The employee standing in the middle took a step forward, frightened.

”Okay... Okay. Five days. Five days!” Goro Ota was so furious that he almost needed some heart pills. After calming down a bit, he stared at everyone. ”All of you will have no bonus this month. If you can’t get it done in five days, you can wait for your salary to be deducted as well!”

”Five days. One hundred percent liquidated damages, which is 19,400,000,000 yen!” Goro Ota’s heart was shattered into pieces.

Five days. One hundred percent liquidated damages. That’s almost 1,600,000,000 yuan! Chen Fan was overjoyed. Even drug trafficking would not earn him that much.

”Seems like I need to find a buyer for the crude oil.” Lying on the bed, Chen Fan rubbed his nose.

Although he would need to pay a high price for the crude oil and would not even make much profit by selling it off, Chen Fan was unconcerned. The liquidated damages were already as high as the price of the oil. He was therefore not interested in the profit from the oil itself.

After much thinking, Chen Fan felt that in order to find a buyer, he should go and contact Wei Zhixiu, the former-head of Zhongyun Refinery and Chemical Factory.

Why was he called the former-head? Because two months ago, he had been promoted to the deputy manager of the East China Refinery and Sales Department.

However, the two had still been doing business with each other. Every time Chen Fan obtained any crude oil from Saudi Arabia, he would sell it to Wei Zhixiu. On the other hand, Wei Zhixiu would help Chen Fan to settle issues about crude oil quota and scheduling.

In this era with so many different deputy managers, Wei Zhixiu’s position in the department was actually quite prestigious. The administrative rights he could enjoy were comparable to that of a deputy magistrate.

That was because he was an employee under PetroChina, a state-owned enterprise. According to research in the Financial Times on October 5th, PetroChina had a market value of 329,300,000,000 USD, which placed it as the top among all the enterprises in the world.

The two had collaborated for a long time. Although their relationship was not that close, they knew each other well enough. If Chen Fan wanted to sell him more oil using the same price, he would be willing to accept it.

After returning to the surface in the diving chamber, Chen Fan sat inside shaking his legs. He stared leisurely at the starry night sky and started calling Wei Zhixiu.

”Hello. Ah, it’s Mr. Chen. Why haven’t you called me in so long? I thought you had already forgotten about me!” Wei Zhixiu was happy to pick up the call. Actually, he was able to get promoted so quickly partially due to the vast amount of crude oil Chen Fan had provided him.

”You are my biggest investor. How could I dare forget about you?” Chen Fan smiled and went directly to the topic. ”Recently, I obtained another crude oil business, which will provide me with a huge volume of oil every week. I was wondering if you would be interested in it?”

”Yes. Of course yes. I will take whatever you have!” Wei Zhixiu realized that he sounded too eager and laughed in spite of himself. ”In East China, there are four deputy managers in my department. The rest are all over 40. I am the youngest and have the worst results. To be honest, I have been trying so hard to get more crude oil, there are almost ulcers on my lips.”

”Well, I am here to help you when you need it the most,” Chen Fan said with some pride. ”The amount this time is greater than all previous deals. I signed a half-year agreement with a foreigner. He will provide me with about 3,000,000 barrels of crude oil each week. Of course, the delivery dates are uncertain yet. You can pay me when I get the oil to the pier.”

”Err...” Wei Zhixiu was at first stunned by the enormous amount, but it quickly turned into a delightful surprise. Now that he was the deputy manager in East China, the transaction amount he was entitled to was almost unlimited. As long as the price was reasonable, he could buy as much oil as he wished.

”Mr. Chen, you are not fooling me, right? If not, I won’t be able to sleep these few nights!”

”Why would I? We will still follow the usual rules. You help me settle the quota, and I will sell the oil to you at the private price.”

”Aye, Mr. Chen. Actually, the state was really tight about private oil recently. Well, how about half a yuan less for each ton?”

”Come on. This is all because of your PetroChina in the first place, right? So that you can acquire refineries not already under the company or make them close down. Usual price. Do you really want it or not?”

”Ha. Of course I do. Once your tankers dock, I will ask the financial department to make the transaction.” Wei Zhixiu was not embarrassed at all. ”By the way, do call me two days before your tankers arrive with the precise volume of oil inside. This is to allow me to help you settle the quota and scheduling.”

”No problem. The amount this time is really too huge and my tankers cannot carry so much at once. I plan to rent a few oil storage tanks in Saudi Arabia. If you can get any oil tankers, you can ask them to go and get the oil from Saudi Arabia. I will deduct the transportation fees from the cost.”

”Alright. Call me when you are ready. I will see if I can contact any tankers.”

”Okay!” Hanging up, Chen Fan closed the chamber and let the electric eel drag it back to the cave.

Back at the stone tower, Chen Fan pondered for a while and decided to go up to the third level. Using the Kun Wu, he cut off some pieces from the seven Taisui, each about the size of a bowl, to feed the electric eel.

He still had 513 blue stones, which the electric eel could use for a long time.

When the electric eel was about to eat the seven ghost moon incenses, the python, which was sleeping below the cliff, quickly used its highly sensitive tongue to capture the scent. It moved near the electric eel and stared at it, drooling.

”I will reward you with one!” The electric eel rolled its eyes at the greedy python and threw a piece of ghost moon incense at it.

Roar!

After devouring the incense, the white python instantly started to roar. Its voice was so loud that Chen Fan could feel his eardrums vibrating.

Of course, Nakagawa Emi also heard the sound.

She was imprisoned in the submarine tens of meters underwater. When the high decibel howl from the python reached her, it was already very soft. If not for the silent underwater environment, her ears would not have even caught the faint shout.

”Ahhh! Ghost!”

Obviously, Chen Fan’s story about the cave had left psychological trauma in her mind. After hearing the evil sound which seemed to be coming from all directions, she immediately cried out in horror and curled her body up, shaking.

”Stop. You are shouting like a ghost. It’s so unpleasant!” The electric eel smacked the python’s head with its paw, causing it to be enraged, but the roar finally stopped.

If he had known that the python’s voice really sounded like a ghost from the submarine, he would have asked it to shout all day long. Unfortunately, he did not.

Suddenly, the python cunningly squinted its eyes at the electric eel and swam to the edge of the lake. It opened its mouth and a gust of white, chilly gas gushed out.

It was as if the gas contained an arcane magic from an ice mage. The seawater in contact with the gas quickly made a cracking sound, after which a piece of ice 15 meters in diameter floated onto the surface.

”Super frost python?” Chen Fan was totally dumbstruck by the scene in front of him.
