213 Dump You Into the Huangpu River
”Why? Why are there three large incidents happening in a single day?” Goro Ota flared and shouted. ”Could it be that the geological layer over there had some problems that we had not previously discovered?”

In the face of such shots, the staff member was scared out of his wits. His face turned pale, then he asked, ”Oil well number three could be considered as a sudden incident, but what about numbers one and five? With the same machinery accidents happening in one day, there is definitely some sort of connection between the events.”

”Check it. Immediately request for our national exploration vessel to explore the sea bed in that area again.”

”Sigh!”

”Why are you sighing? Faster! Get to it!”

Once the staff member hurried off, Goro Ota pulled the necktie around his neck aggressively. He was prepared to phone that sucker to see if it was possible to delay for a few days. Since this first business transaction had so many flaws, even before it had begun, it would not be considered rude to talk badly about it.

However, the phone call was not connected yet, so Garo Ota could only send an email to the opposite party. At that time, that person wrote in Mandarin. So, after giving it more thought, Garo Ota yelled at a translator to come translate it for him.

…

Dear Mr. Kate Buzan,

Kate!

I deeply apologize for the fact that our oil well had, at the local time of between 12 to 2, consecutively experienced a malfunction with our three drilling platforms. We are already trying our best to fix it. It is estimated that it will take one week until we are able to continue excavating.

Do you think that we could postpone our date of agreement by a few days?

If this is possible, only for this transaction, I will give you a price reduction of 15 Yen per barrel!

…

After delivering this email, Garo Ota’s face turned red. He admitted to himself that, if he was in the other party’s shoes, he would have never agreed to such terms. Businessmen are naturally profit seekers. As such, who in the world would be kind enough to offer to give away any of their gains?

”I hope this youngster is an exceptionally rare idiot, who agrees with my terms at first glance.” At this point in time, Garo Ota could only silently pray for the best, Otherwise, full compensation would be the only alternative left.

Alas, what he was afraid of had happened. Garo Ota’s concern quickly turned into a reality, seen in the email reply..

…

I would like to express my sympathy and condolences to the issue that has broken out in your company. We are very concerned about this incident. Did it cause any casualties?

However, we do hope that your company can understand our circumstances, too. We just signed an agreement with the party in Myanmar, which clearly stated that there would be a large penalty compensated for late deliveries!

...

”Kiddo, I bet you are stunned right now!” After sending out the email reply, Chen Fan laughed cunningly.

The destruction of three oil wells would be enough to keep them busy for quite a long period of time. Thus, he could safely withdraw his electric eel.

When the electric eel returned to Zhongyun, there were still seven days remaining until the scheduled date of goods delivery. At the same time, Garo Ota had sent a few emails to notify him of their difficulties and request for a further postponement of a few days.

Even if God came, Chen Fan would never agree to such terms! In fact, he had already thought to himself that, if time were to be delayed for too long and the Ohno Group still failed to deliver their promises, he would control the electric eel to destroy one of the well’s oil control valves. This would cause them to receive an enormous fine from Libya’s government! Just the thought of the black oil gushing out from the pipes after destroying their oil well left him with a feeling of pure satisfaction.

At ten in the morning, Chen Fan changed out of the black windbreaker, which he had worn for a week, into a brown Armani casual jacket. Today, he was prepared to make a trip to the Swiss International Bank in Tian Hai City.

A few days earlier, Wang Bing had already sent him a message, telling him that the police that were stationed in front of his house had already left. Ma Rongtao also told him that the police had determined that it was an accidental assault on the police, meaning that it had nothing to do with the illegal possession of a gun. The bank account, which was frozen before, had been unfrozen, and it was not a matter of an armed assault towards the police, either, as he had initially thought it was.

As such, it was a situation dealing two separate crimes, with a huge difference in between them. As for how many years he would end up in prison, following the court’s verdict, one would only know the answer to that question, should he be captured and sent to court for trial.

However, Ma Rongtao said that his case would not be tried for yet another few more years. Plus, at the time of any sentencing, there would also be the option of bailing him out, thus further suspending date of sentencing.

Theoretically, even if Chen Fan were to surrender now, he would not be locked up for too long, before he could again be released. Even with these facts, he still did not want to be locked up for even a day! Since he was not a wanted criminal, the police would not even recognize him, should he be walking on the street. Thus, the chances of his getting caught were still minimal!

Moreover, even if he were to get caught, he would just have to admit that he was dogged by misfortune. He would surely then be released, after getting locked up for only a little while.

Holding on to this devil-may-care attitude, Chen Fan boarded his luxurious submarine, once the morning sun was shining brightly. He then started his journey, heading south to the globalized city, which was 150 nautical miles away from Zhongyun.

This distance of 150 nautical miles was just a matter of traveling for 30 to 40 minutes for the electric eel. Thus, the only hassle of this jaunt was to search for a hidden landing spot.

Tian Hai City’s Swiss International Bank was located on Nanjing West Road in the Jing’an District. This place was known as the Swiss Bank Representative Office, where they only served high-profile customers. As such, unless you were not saving more than 50 million Renminbi, then do not even bother searching for it! Evidently, Chen Fan was the VIP here!

He wore a small cow-leather hat, as he walked into the large building. He then proceeded to take the lift up to the reception office. When the young female staff member saw the black self-set pictured card in his hand, she was so shocked, she started stuttering!

”I would like to exchange 50 million Renminbi!” said Chen Fan, as he sat in the luxuriously furnished room.

”Would you like to withdraw cash or transfer it to your account?” asked the senior manager, who rushed in upon hearing the news of his arrival. He was displaying his most impeccable professional etiquettes, obviously!

”Transfer it to this card of mine, please!” Chen Fan took out a normal Swiss banking card from his pocket. It was a card that he had left over from the previous transfer, which still contained a few thousand American Dollars on it.

”Alright, please wait for a moment!” The senior manager, who was dressed in a suit, received the card courteously. He waved his hand to ask the female staff to leave, as he personally desired to operate the computer for this special transaction.

Chen Fan was preparing the 50 million Renminbi for his parents. Although his own bank account was frozen, he decided to not do anything to it temporarily, but instead withdraw the money from the Swiss Bank.

Two days ago, he had a discussion with his parents, where he had suggested that they move to a different place to live. Otherwise, as time went by, once the neighbors knew about him being a wanted person on the run, they would surely scorn them.

Nowadays, if you had enough money, you could even move to outer space. After discussing this subject his parents for about half a day, they decided to buy a house in the city district.

To buy a house there, five million was more than enough. Yet, Chen Fan withdrew 50 million, so that his parents could move, as well as open up a supermarket, restaurant, or something else.

He was not too worried about taking out so a large sum, specifically because it would be in his parents’ names. As such, since they did not have any connection to the case, even if they had 100 million deposited to them, without knowing where it is from, the justice department would not confiscate their wealth, because they would not have evidence to prove that their wealth was illegally gained.

Thus, the matter of exchanging the Renminbi was handled quickly. When the senior manager saw that Chen Fan had the intention of leaving, he quickly came over to fawn all over him.

”Dear sir, here we have a personal financial consulting group that is unrivalled. If you are willing to let us manage your wealth, then we promise to generate a return of no less than five percent a year for you...”

Chen Fan interrupted his endless speech, saying, ”Why does the Swiss Bank love to promote their financial consulting services to customers, just like other banks?”

”Hehe,” This senior manager smiled brazenly, then said, ”We must grab our chances to serve any high-profile customer, like you!”

”Let’s talk about this in the future. Recently, my capital has been frequently moved around, so I can’t bring out any extra cash for investments at the moment.” Chen Fan also laughed a little, after responding. At least this guy was pretty honest!

Taking the escalator back to the entrance of the large building, Chen Fan casually walked into a restaurant nearby. Since he had not yet had his breakfast, he figured that he might as well grab an early lunch.

He had only managed to take a few steps toward the restaurant, when a fiery red Ferrari recklessly rushed past. The noise blasted from the engine by the exhaust pipe roared into the ears of the people nearby. Then, this fiery red Ferrari turned in a way that went against the principle of mechanics, pulling over in front of the gate of the large building with a squeak.

”Showy rich kid!” If this scene had happened a year ago, Chen Fan would have definitely stopped to stare and admire the car. However, as he had already become so wealthy that luxurious cars, which were worth millions, were nothing to him, this brat would definitely not garner his attention today!

After the car stopped, a tall girl with light yellow curly hair, who wore a white windbreaker, exited the car. The people around all had a gleam in their eyes. They did not expect that the owner of this fancy car would be a girl whose beauty could rival the most exotic of flowers!

This beautiful lady looked like a female idol from the movies. She even wore a cool pair of sunglasses. After getting out of the car, she elegantly adjusted her clothes, then walked into the large building, without even looking back.

”Shanghai really has so many pretty ladies!” A youngster with a foreign accent stared at the back of the beautiful lady, as if his soul were being extracted from his body.

”Ah!” Chen Fan opened his mouth widely, as though a long pike had pierced into his lungs.

”Crazy weirdo!” The youngster beside Chen Fan looked at him in a weird manner.

The lady was no doubt prettier than most of the Hollywood idols, but this guy’s expression was a little exaggerated, right?

”Look who’s talking, little jerk!” Once the youngster had left, Chen Fan walked around the large building once, his eyes now bloodshot. He was furious.

That lady was none other than Nakagawa Emi! She was the woman who wanted him to go to jail, and who had caused him to not be able to return to his own house!

After recognizing her and allowing his temper to get the better of him, Chen Fan felt that his bloodstreams were being filled with a storm of raging emotions. He did not even want to eat anymore, nor was he feeling at all hungry. He felt oddly energized, in fact.

He ran a few steps to the front of the fiery red Ferrari, then pulled the door handle, but it was locked. Since this method had not worked out, Chen Fan ran a few steps to the nearby newspaper stand, where he purchased a newspaper, a bottle of Wahaha mineral water, and a piece of bread.

He acted as if he was simply a starry-eyed youngster, who had just left his hometown to look for a job. Sitting on the curb beside the Ferrari, he slowly bit into the bread, drank some mineral water, and kept shifting his gaze between his newspaper and the exit of the large building.

This is such a coincidence! This dang lady is probably going to the Swiss Bank to settle some financial matters. Once she comes out, I am going to capture and interrogate her properly!

When Chen Fan felt like half a century had gone by, although it had really only been about 40 minutes, the pretty lady with the nice figure appeared on the platform of the large building.

Realizing that she was still on her own, Chen Fan positioned the Kun Wu Dagger behind his back, trembling as he did so. He then used the newspaper to camouflage it, looking just as if he was still reading the newspaper.

”Clack!” The crisp sound of her dainty leather boots was getting closer. Chen Fan’s bloodstream was also flowing faster!

When he was able to see the long fine legs of that lady beneath the tight black skirt from the bottom of the newspaper, he suppressed his emotions, then growled, ”Miss, could you tell me how to get to the Maoming Building? I want to go there to interview for a sales position.”

”I don’t know!” Nakagawa Emi gave a very simple answer. She cautiously looked at this man, who had half of his body covered by the newspaper. She then took out her key to unlock the car door, getting ready to enter the car.

”Don’t move!” Chen Fan swiftly leapt to her back, then poked her chest with his right hand. While the newspaper was still in his grip, he wrapped his left arm around her thin waist from the back.

Under normal conditions, since Chen Fan had already grabbed her arms with one hand, while holding a knife in front of her with the other, she should have obeyed his orders immediately, no matter how rough Chen Fan was being.

In fact, from Chen Fan’s perspective, he should not have needed to expend much effort to apprehend her, as Nakagawa Emi’s body was thin and weak. However, when he placed the knife in front of Nakagawa Emi, he understood how stupid his initial thought was.

He had failed to factor in a secret weapon...This pretty lady’s stiletto heels! Thus, when Nakagawa Emi raised her legs up and stomped on Chen Fan’s coffee-coloured casual leather shoes, he felt like he had been kicked by a Transformer!

It was so painful, even his face crumpled. Poor Chen Fan did not want to admit it, but he had to concede that women were not as weak as he had thought they were!

Nakagawa Emi’s high heel stomp had yet to finish its execution, when she suddenly utilized her right shoulder to knock him backwards. Her light yellow curly hair swept across the air, while the knife that was on her neck did not stop her at all! She mystically twisted around, landing into a stance that allowed her to collide into Chen Fan with her chest.

This self-defense move was pretty dangerous. Yet, she made it look effortless! If her head had made a slight deviation, or her waist did not have good flexibility, the sharp Kun Wu dagger would have cut across her neck for sure! By then, even if a priest were to be called to perform a healing technique on her, she would not have been able to survive such a wound!

Suddenly, her defensive stance had now transformed into an offensive attack! Nakagawa Emi twisted her wrist in a flash, prepared to grab onto Chen Fan’s hand that held the knife. She choked his neck with her right hand, while she utilized the strength from her waist to execute a deadly flip. However, when both of her hands were released from Chen Fan’s control, she realized how ridiculous her initial thought was.

Without a doubt, Nakagawa Emi owned the renowned title of Kendo master, and she also excelled in all sorts of self-defense techniques, which allowed her to easily take down three or five men at a time. However, Chen Fan, who had finally come back to his senses, suddenly realized that he did not need to execute any excellent martial arts to combat her successfully at all!

In fact, he did not know any moves at all, as he had only learned specific tactics from Wang Bing. However, he could not execute those at that time, or else he might kill Nakagawa Emi!

Thus, he simply applied strength to his left arm to restrain her waist and both of her arms. Nakagawa Emi suddenly felt a constriction at her chest, which was followed by a horrifying and continuous force on her body. Her fair face then suddenly turned red, as she coughed vigorously.

How is this a human’s arm strength?!

”You witch! You are in for some trouble! How dare you step on me?” Chen Fan’s torso was right on top of her back now. Due to the intense pain that was still coming from his leg, he was breathing heavily as he spoke.

”You… What do you want?” In that exact moment, Nakagawa Emi recognized who this barbaric man was. Thus, she answered him faintly.

”I want your life!” Chen Fan smiled coldly, his expression fierce.

Although he was using a knife and even threatening to take away her life, the passersby should have reported this scene to the police. However, the outcome was totally the opposite!

This was because Chen Fan had been careful to cover his knife with a newspaper. So, when bystanders saw Nakagawa Emi breathing heavily, as well as her bright red face, which was actually caused by her near suffocation, they only thought of the pair as being a shameless couple, being overly amorous on the streets.

There were even one or two perverts, who were secretly commenting about the man with the Ferrari, who was shamelessly using the newspaper to block his actions, not allowing them to enjoy the interesting view!

”Get in the car!” After opening the Ferrari’s car door, Chen Fan crammed the girl into the driver’s seat, before slamming the door.

All race cars have one thing in common. As long as the car window was not down, outsiders could never see what was going on inside the car. Blocking any gazes from strangers, Chen Fan could finally do what he wanted to do boldly. He first scanned around the car, looking for something that could be used to tie her up. Yet, he failed to find anything.

As such, he could only tighten his left grip again to prevent Nakagawa Emi from causing more trouble. He then quickly undid his belt to use it to tie up her arms. After freeing both of his hands, Chen Fan used the knife to cut away the safety belt, which he then used to tie up both of her slender legs.

”You will pay heavily for your actions!” Nakagawa Emi said, resisting. Although her legs looked thin, they still packed some punch!

Due to the cramped space in the car, as well as the fact that she was sitting on top of his lap, his arms could not fully utilize their strength, so his few attempts were futile.

”Can you just cooperate and let me tie you up?” Chen Fan took his Kun Wu knife and flicked it near her face.

This made her hair stand on end. She did not have the courage to move at all anymore. The following matter would be much easier to handle now. Chen Fan wrapped the safety belt around her a few times. Looking at his work, he felt that this woman was a tough one to handle, so he had to put in more effort! For safety purposes, he cut the main driver’s seat belt, then used it to wrap her up.

”Alright, now let me bring you to somewhere fun, a place that you will not forget for the rest of your life!” Chen Fan smiled and tapped her on the shoulder. After getting the keys and phone out, he struggled to move across to the main driver’s seat from the seat beside it.

After inserting the key and turning on the lights, Chen Fan figured out how to use the car, familiarizing himself with the control panels. He then stepped on the accelerator and drove the Ferrari away with a blast.

”Where are you taking me?” Nakagawa Emi glared at him furiously, her gaze vicious.

She looked as if she could spew fire. ”I am warning you. If I disappear for more than 24 hours, my men will start looking me. Then, it would not be hard to find out what happened here!”

”You are as stubborn as ever, even when you are in trouble!” Chen Fan drove, while he freed one of his hands to take out his phone. ”Tell me the number of your men. I will call them now.”

The two then went into a deep, stony silence. Nakagawa Emi bit her lips, then opened her mouth a few times, but still did not say a word.

”Stay still. If you continue to spit rubbish from that mouth of yours, I am going to throw you into the Huangpu River to feed the fishes there!”

After making the statement, Chen Fan put the phone back into his pocket, so that he could pay maximum attention to driving. Tian Hai City’s traffic was really horrible!

After driving for about half an hour in the heavy traffic, he took a turn at Blade Road, then continued for another 40 minutes. He then arrived at his destination. It was the sea, just to the north of Yang Village.

”You… Why did you bring me to the beach?” Looking at the vast sea that was just outside the window, Nakagawa Emi continued to stare at him, her gaze still quite vicious.

”Of course, I am going to wait until tonight, before I tie a rock to you and dump you into the sea!” Chen Fan said, as if it was nothing!
