85 Let’s Make a Be
”Who’s the wicked person who stole my clothes?” Chen Fan held onto the plastic bag, feeling helpless. Just the ID card and visa were enough to make Chen Fan vomit blood, not to mention the satellite phone and the over 100,000 Myanmar currency.

With the help of the dim streetlight a distance away, Chen Fan observed the surrounding footprints carefully. Other than his own footprints, there was a pair that was obviously a few sizes smaller.

”Between size 30 to 32...should be a child.” Chen Fan came up with these numbers after measuring against his own footprints. However, Chen Fan soon fell into despair again. The footprints only extended to the road and there were no signs of them after that.

”Heaven, you’re playing on me!” Chen Fan cried out, squatting by the side of the road.

After struggling with his thoughts for a while, Chen Fan had no choice but to give up. He gritted his teeth and braced himself before walking toward the residence of the white-robed man. Chen Fan who only had his swimming trunks on brought a certain level of visual impact to the young Burmese ladies. His face, which was considered ordinary in Zhongyun, was not only more fair than the locals, but was seen as very handsome in Myanmar where men generally looked unattractive. It was definitely enough to turn the heads of the opposite sex.

”Phew, this is a foreign country, nobody knows me. This is a foreign country, nobody knows me.” Chen Fan braced himself against the gaze of those young ladies in colorful skirts. He kept reminding himself to be more thick-skinned.

”Hey, little devil, why are you running about in your swimming trunks?” Just as Chen Fan was holding the plastic with one hand and covering his mouth with the other, he suddenly heard a crisp voice like that of a little lark. Turn into stone, completely turn into stone. So much for Medusa turning one into stone!

The voice belonged to none other than the ”rose” he encountered at the white-robed man’s house this afternoon.

”Well…” Chen Fan took five seconds to get himself out of the stonified state.

”Little devil, how can you dress so casually when you’re out? And what’s with the plastic bag you’re holding?” The ”rose” who was wearing a pair of sunglasses pointed at Chen Fan’s chest with her fair, slender hand.

”Can you stop calling me little devil? I don’t think you are much older than me.” Chen Fan carried the plastic bag behind him and said in a righteous tone. Chen Fan had specially wrapped a few thick plastic bags around the items previously. With the help of nighttime, Chen Fan was certain that she couldn’t see what was inside.

”Hmm, you’ve got quite a temper, little devil. Just a few remarks and you’re unhappy?” Under the dim lighting, the ”rose” dressed in a cream-colored dress with the black dagger hanging on her neck looked like a night elf in a fantasy world, giving off an air of ”deadly seduction”.

”No,” Chen Fan covered the middle of his chest with both hands. ”I’m just curious. The sky is so dark and you’re wearing a pair of dark sunglasses, yet you could recognize me?”

”Burmese men are not as daring as you, and few are as fair as you, so I couldn’t help but glance a few more times.” The ”rose” suppressed her laughter. ”You know what it is to be shy? Then why did you come out in swimming trunks?”

”The weather’s too hot. I took a bath in the sea after dinner, but my clothes got stolen. So I had no choice but to turn back.”

”Then why are you holding a ’Times Supermarket’ shopping bag? As far as I know, the Times Supermarket company is not powerful enough to open an outlet in Myanmar.” The ”rose” gave a faint smile. ”Did you swim into the sea to salvage it? There’s actually a gun hidden inside and are you thinking of assassinating Mr Wu?”

”With your associative ability, it’ll be a waste of your talent if you’re not an author for mystery novels.” Although Chen Fan’s heart was thumping fast, he still sounded conceited. ”Don’t you think it’s very dangerous for a woman like you to be walking around outside? Especially in Myanmar, especially in Myanmar at night. I think you should go back quickly and not stand here talking nonsense with me.”

”Hahaha...hahaha…” The ”rose” covered her mouth and laughed nonstop. It was only after Chen Fan started having chills and wanted to run away that she stopped.

Don’t tell me she’s a lunatic? Chen Fan started making wild guesses.

”Am I a tiger? You want so much to chase me away?” The ”rose” was a little puzzled. ”Weren’t you spaced out when you saw me this afternoon? Why do you look like you’re hiding from me now?”

”Alright, you stay. I’ll leave!” After turning his back and taking a few steps, Chen Fan stopped. This was because the ”rose” said something which he couldn’t pretend not to hear. ”Do you wanna get your things back?”

”Although I admit that your associative ability is very ’logical’, I do not believe that you can find my things!”

”How about we make a bet?” The ”rose” snapped her fingers gracefully. ”What if I can find your things?”

”Unless they’re stolen by you!” Chen Fan said impudently, ”Otherwise, I don’t think you have any way to find my lost items.”

”Bet, or no bet?” The ”rose” showed her pearly white teeth as she said each word with emphasis.

”Bet, why not? I shall see how you’re gonna find my things.” Chen Fan casually placed the plastic bag at the side of the road and sat on the ground. ”What’s the bet? First let me get this straight. I’m only left with myself and this pair of swimming trunks. I don’t have any other valuable things to bet on.”

”How about that plastic bag beside you?” The ”rose” pointed at Chen Fan’s side. ”If I win, the plastic bag will be mine. If I lose, you can state a condition, but it can’t be something too unreasonable.”

”Hmm…” Chen Fan rubbed his face hard. He was certain that she did not know what was in the plastic bag; she was just being cheeky. But looking at her full of confidence, Chen Fan was a little unsure. What if she saw the person who took his clothes by chance?

After some thought, Chen Fan felt that the possibility was low. After all, they did not know each other. She did not have to go one big round to make fun of him.

”Alright. If you lose, you’ll help me settle my air ticket back!” Chen Fan had no intention of abiding by the conditions of this bet. She was just a delicate woman who looked as if she would fall over with just a light push. If she really managed to find his lost items, Chen Fan was prepared to snatch the things and then run away.

Chen Fan was not at all concerned about her background or how influential she was. Only a person who had nothing better to do would come after him over a silly bet. However, Chen Fan soon realized that he was wrong. The ”rose” really was someone who had nothing better to do.

”Little devil, don’t you try any tricks if you lose. Otherwise I’ll find trouble for you!” The ”rose” shook her slender finger in front of Chen Fan. With Chen Fan’s astonished eyes looking at her, she took out an eight centimeter long jadeite flute out of nowhere.

Although Chen Fan knew nothing about jadeite, he was certain that the flute was much prettier than the few million RMB ring on Chen Shuguang’s finger. The ”rose” placed the flute on her lips and performed a beautiful tune for Chen Fan. After that, she squatted down following Chen Fan’s posture, and then stared at him with a smile that said ”you’re gonna lose”.

”What are you doing?” Chen Fan was totally confused. What has finding the lost items got to do with a blowing flute? If lost items could be found by blowing the flute, there wouldn’t be any thieves in this world!

”You’re gonna find out soon!” The ”rose” said smilingly. ”No cheating! You have to understand that most women are not magnanimous. I’ll be very angry if you cheat!”

”Haha.” What Chen Fan wanted to say was, ”What can you do if I cheat? Don’t tell me you’re gonna get that Mr Wu to kill me?” It was funny seeing a delicate lady trying to act tough in front of a man. ”Start thinking of a way to get me my plane ticket back!” Chen Fan hugged his knees as he leisurely rolled his tongue and imitated the sound of her flute.

After less than five seconds, Chen Fan’s whistling suddenly stopped as his eyes almost popped out! He heard a loud chirp and saw a snow-white eagle with its wings spreaded out, flapping them before landing on the road beside the ”rose”.

”White eagle?” Chen Fan almost fell to the ground. ”This...this…” It was difficult to describe how beautiful this eagle was. Other than its two round, shiny black eyes, even its beak and claws were pure white without any blemish.

”This is the most sacred gift heaven bestowed to us Manchurians. It’s a gyrfalcon, not some albino vulture like you said!”

”Dancing elegantly, like the bird called gyrfalcon” The ”rose” rolled her eyes angrily at the country bumpkin before gently carrying the beautiful, white gyrfalcon and touching its head as she said, ”There have been countless numbers of people mesmerized by it since ancient times but unable to get hold of it. But a country bumpkin like you didn’t even recognize it.”

White gyrfalcon? Manchurian rose?

Chen Fan almost bit off his own tongue. He had never been more shocked in his entire life! This dainty and delicate looking little beauty actually had a big eagle which looked more ferocious than the electric eel.

”Alright, I admit that my knowledge is limited!” Chen Fan stood up and said with a serious expression. ”Although your eagle looked as pretty as you and its eyes looked many times stronger than ours, I still do not believe that its brain cells are comparable to the detectives in the police station!”

”Little devil, I’m gonna show you what ’God’s incarnation’ is today!” At that moment, the ”rose” looked as if she had been possessed by the Priestess of the Moon who had just attained level 6 Starfall, looking extremely awesome!
