Different World Card Master: Change the World with Cards

319: Commendation meetingA month and a half later.

Time passed quickly.

Everyone originally thought that after the Beast Tide, they could spend two or three days cleaning up the battlefield, host a commendation ceremony and victory banquet, and then happily wait for the New Year.

However, they didn’t expect that other countries would send distress signals, hoping that the Tianlong Republic would send people to support them.

These countries failed to stop the attack of the Beast Tide. The beasts had already breached the city walls and entered the cities. Several cities in some small countries had been occupied by beasts; it could be said that the losses were immense and casualties were very high.

Two days later, although the Beast Tide had ended and the beasts had regained their sanity, the beasts had already entered the cities and would not retreat easily.

One had to know that for the beasts, a city was like an all-you-can-eat buffet; since they could eat every day, the beasts were unwilling to return to the wild.

Thus, humans wanted to recapture the cities, the survivors in the cities wanted to escape, and the beasts wanted to kill all the humans in the cities to occupy them, so those places were plunged into a long-term struggle.

However, those countries lacked strong military force, so they wanted to ask other countries for help. Upon receiving intelligence that the Tianlong Republic had easily resisted the beasts, they sent distress signals to the Tianlong Republic.

Out of humanitarian concern, the Tianlong Republic dispatched soldiers and supplies to countries they were on good terms with, helping them resist the continued invasion of the beasts and rescuing survivors. As for the other countries, they let the Luo Lan Empire save them; after all, those countries had always sided with the Luo Lan Empire and had even helped the Luo Lan Empire do many things detrimental to the Tianlong Republic. The Tianlong Republic was not something to be easily provoked.

It wasn’t until a month and a half later that the damage caused by the Beast Tide was quelled, and the Tianlong Republic finally held the commendation ceremony and victory banquet to celebrate successfully resisting the Beast Tide this year.

The time for the commendation ceremony happened to be set on New Year’s Eve, so they could celebrate the New Year together at the victory banquet.

...

This commendation ceremony was also broadcasted live.

Early in the morning, people all over the Tianlong Republic gathered at places with live broadcast screens to watch this broadcast.

Mr. Number Three first expressed condolences for those who sacrificed their lives in the war and held a solemn and respectful mourning ceremony for them.

After the mourning, it was time to reward those who had contributed.

The first group to go on stage were the veterans who had been disabled due to the war. The Government awarded them war medals to recognize their contributions. Later, these people would choose whether to continue serving in the military based on their personal wishes. Now, besides logistics, being a drone operator had also become a fallback option for them, so it could be said that many were not sad.

Next were the soldiers who had made significant contributions, such as those who piloted mechs. This time, the mechs had allowed the Tianlong Republic to leap into becoming the world’s number one power, and even the Luo Lan Empire dared not easily offend the Tianlong Republic and even wanted to trade resources for mechs.

There were also those drone operators. In order to master controlling the drones in the shortest amount of time, they slept no more than three hours a day; it could be said that they worked very hard. It was also because of the drones that the casualties of the soldiers were much lower.

Next were the snipers. After counting, aside from the Star Energy Stone Bomb, the snipers had killed the most high-level beasts.

...

Finally, there was the logistics personnel; without them, the soldiers would not have been able to fight the beasts with peace of mind.

The above were just the awards from the military department. Next were the awards for the mercenary groups. After all, there were many people in the mercenary groups, and they could rotate shifts with the soldiers, allowing the soldiers to recover their energy as quickly as possible to fight again; it could be said that they were also very important.

Immediately after, it was the turn of the Research Institute.

It could be said that a large reason why they were able to achieve an overwhelming victory in these last two battles was due to the weapons.

Therefore, the Research Institute was specially commended by Mr. Number Three.

The members of the Research Institute received their medals with glowing faces.

”Next, I want to introduce to you the creator of the mech cards, the creator of the Star Energy Stone Bomb, the creator of the drone... Mr. Bai Xiaobai, he is also called Xu Bai. He has made a huge contribution to the Tianlong Republic. Here, I want to announce something.”

Mr. Number Three scanned the surroundings, then looked at the live broadcast camera and announced: ”From today on, Mr. Xu Bai officially becomes Mr. Number Eleven!”

As his voice fell, applause rang out like thunder.

Everyone felt that this was well-deserved, and no one present objected.

One had to know that during this Beast Tide, many countries had their cities breached by beasts, and millions of people lost their lives because of it; some countries were even on the verge of being destroyed. Yet, the Tianlong Republic had experienced two beast wars and had not lost a single city.

They thought about it carefully; if it weren’t for the cards that Xu Bai researched, even if the Tianlong Republic had won, it would have been a pyrrhic victory. Therefore, they all agreed with Xu Bai becoming Mr. Number Eleven.

Hearing the matter announced by Mr. Number Three, Xu Bai’s eyes widened in shock.

Although Bai Shan had previously told him that he was under assessment for becoming a ’Mr.’, he had thought this assessment would take at least several years before it was announced. At the time, Bai Shan said that he had also been assessed for two years before becoming a ’Mr.’, which was said to be the shortest assessment time. Yet, Xu Bai had passed the ’Mr.’ assessment in just a few short months, which could be said to have broken the record.

However, on second thought, Xu Bai felt that this was an inevitable result, just a little earlier than expected.

Now, if he went to any country, he would be in the highest position. Whoever harmed him would be a sinner of the world and an accomplice to the beasts.

After all, many countries still needed to rely on the cards researched by Xu Bai to resist the next Beast Tide.

...

Xu Bai stood up, bowed to the surroundings to express his gratitude, and then walked onto the stage with his head held high and chest puffed out.

Mr. Number Three handed the appointment letter in his hand to Xu Bai.

Xu Bai took it with both hands and turned to face the crowd off-stage and the live broadcast camera.

”I am very grateful to the country for trusting me so much and giving me such an important status.

These cards are not just the result of my efforts, but also the efforts of all the research partners beside me. Here, I want to thank...”

In the future, I will continue to work hard to research cards, protecting people’s safety while making life more convenient for everyone.

Of course, if we want to live a better and more peaceful life in the future, relying solely on my efforts is not enough; it also depends on everyone’s efforts. I hope everyone can help me, and together, let’s make the Tianlong Republic better and let the people live and work in peace and contentment. Thank you, everyone!”

Another wave of applause rang out.

The people off-stage and the people outside the live broadcast screens looked at the young ’Mr.’ on the stage.

A new generation of Card-Making Masters had appeared, and the future would definitely get better and better.
