Different World Card Master: Change the World with Cards

316: New weapons unveiledTwo days later, Xu Bai finally emerged from his research lab.

In the past, there were times when Xu Bai would seclude himself to research cards, but most of those sessions lasted only a few hours, or at most a single night; he had never spent this much time before.

Honestly, if Xu Bai hadn’t brought food inside beforehand and told them not to disturb him, the Administrator would have wanted to break down the door to see if Xu Bai had been kidnapped. However, they had already decided that if he hadn’t come out after three days, they would need to send someone to knock and check on Xu Bai’s safety.

After coming out, Xu Bai went straight to the Administrator’s office and asked him to arrange for soldiers to come and test the new cards.

The Administrator immediately made the arrangements and followed Xu Bai to the testing grounds, eager to see what kind of cards Xu Bai had researched this time.

Upon reaching the grounds, they still had to wait for the soldiers to arrive. By then, others who had heard the news also showed up.

Everyone was very curious about what Xu Bai had created.

After all, in everyone’s hearts, Xu Bai was synonymous with miracles.

First, there was the emergence of new energy. Next, with the appearance of new energy, various machine cards utilizing it made people’s lives more convenient. Later, he led humanity to conquer the skies, followed by the appearance of cameras and surveillance equipment that could record images and videos, then scanners, and finally, the ultimate weapon in the beast wars, the Star Energy Stone Bomb. These were what everyone currently knew about; of course, there were other minor research projects that, to Xu Bai, were merely insignificant achievements among his many accomplishments.

Therefore, based on Xu Bai’s past achievements, it was clear that he would produce another major breakthrough this time.

A cold breeze blew by, but the people present seemed not to feel the chill, their eyes burning with anticipation as they looked at Xu Bai.

...

One hour later.

The soldiers sent for the test arrived. This time, the group was led by Xu Bai’s old acquaintance, Wu Yunshan, and there were several others among the soldiers whom Xu Bai knew well. Seeing them, Xu Bai smiled with satisfaction.

Because when he was making this card, he had to take the soldiers’ physical fitness into account, and several of the familiar faces were the very subjects he had referenced, so they should be able to activate it.

After exchanging greetings, Xu Bai, under the gaze of everyone, inserted the newly crafted card into the card reader.

When everyone saw what appeared, their pupils constricted; they couldn’t believe what they were seeing.

They rubbed their eyes.

This... what is this?

This question flooded everyone’s minds.

Finally, it was Bai Shan who spoke up to ask.

”Xiao Bai, what is this thing, and what is it used for?”

Xu Bai looked at his creation with satisfaction.

”I call this thing a Mecha, or you could call it a humanoid manned combat machine.

If you open this middle section, you can see that it’s a cockpit, and in front are the various buttons for controlling the Mecha.

At the same time, to defend against flying beasts, I have installed jet-powered anti-gravity devices that can generate an upward force to counter the pull of flying beasts. Of course, I have also included a flight button for the Mecha; during flight, one must rely on their own body to control it, which requires the person operating the Mecha to have high physical strength.

As you can see, this Mecha has basic protection on the outside, equivalent to the protection of a tank. At the same time, the Mecha is large in size, allowing it to possess both thermal firepower and cold weapons. When energy is low, it can use cold weapons to attack.

The function of each control button is as follows...”

After the explanation, everyone gradually understood the Mecha.

At the same time, everyone felt as if a thunderclap had exploded in their hearts; this was an epoch-making weapon.

This Mecha was equivalent to an enlarged version of a human; it not only bridged the size gap between humans and beasts but also enhanced human defense. It could be said that this was very friendly to many soldiers, as they possessed strong physiques, making them perfectly suited to operate the Mecha.

The soldiers might have only thought of this point, but Wu Yunshan thought of much more.

This wasn’t just a simple magnification of the human body, but a way to grant humans multifaceted abilities simultaneously.

If one were to ask if the soldiers knew how to use cold weapons?

The answer is: Yes.

You must know that in the era before thermal weapons, cold weapons were the mainstream. Even now that thermal weapons exist, they haven’t completely abandoned cold weapons; they still use them in daily training.

However, when it comes to groups that use cold weapons more, that would have to be the mercenary groups. Many people in mercenary groups are those who are adept at using cold weapons and are not accustomed to thermal weapons.

But why haven’t these people from the mercenary groups become soldiers?

It is mainly because the casualty rate when using cold weapons during war is too high.

But now, with this Mecha, many people from mercenary groups could be recruited as soldiers, and the army might undergo significant changes, but that is a topic for later.

...

Now, let’s return to this Mecha.

From the description, it is clear that the Mecha is a weapon with multifaceted capabilities.

First, it can adapt to combat in various complex environments. Its feet are equipped with treads and wheels, allowing it to travel at high speeds on land. Also, according to Xu Bai’s description, it can fly and fight at high altitudes. At the same time, its various joints use hydraulic systems, allowing for climbing and jumping. Meanwhile, the interior has good sealing performance and is equipped with breathing apparatus, enabling it to travel underwater for short periods.

Second, the Mecha can seamlessly switch between multiple weapons. The weapon modules on the Mecha can be quickly replaced, and both cold weapons and thermal weapons can be equipped, meaning it can perform long-range strikes as well as close-quarters combat.

Furthermore, the Mecha is not just a simple enlargement of the human individual; it can break physical limits and multiply human strength exponentially. According to Xu Bai, the stronger the soldier, the greater the Mecha’s amplification of their strength, and this power can even rival that of high-level beasts.

Next is the Mecha’s defensive capability; its protection was designed to match that of a tank, enabling it to withstand not only attacks from beasts but also artillery fire.

Finally, Xu Bai also mentioned that besides combat, this Mecha has other uses, such as construction, transporting supplies and personnel, and exploration.

All these functions are enough to demonstrate the power of the Mecha and prove that it is an epoch-making weapon; this card is an epoch-making card.

...

The soldiers nearby had eyes that seemed to glow with fire, eager to enter and experience the Mecha as soon as possible.

Others were also gazing intently, looking forward to the test results of this weapon.

With this weapon, a single person could handle beasts. If people in other countries around the world knew, they would probably all want to immigrate to the Tianlong Republic.

Xu Bai looked at everyone’s burning gazes and, living up to expectations, announced the start of the test.
