Different World Card Master: Change the World with Cards

317: Live stream of the monster tideDecember 18.

The Beast Tide has arrived.

This Beast Tide is different from previous ones; in the past, it was mostly a matter for soldiers and mercenaries, while ordinary citizens could only worry for those on the front lines at home.

They lived like people in ivory towers, never truly facing the war against the Beast Tide, which made some susceptible to being brainwashed into joining cults, so this time, the country wanted to make some changes.

This change was to let everyone watch the scene of the war; they planned to broadcast the Beast Tide live.

Two days ago, the Tianlong Republic set up one or more giant screens in major exhibition halls, large shopping malls, and large squares, and advertised in newspapers, inviting everyone to come and watch for free.

It could be said that everyone in the Tianlong Republic would be watching the battle of this Beast Tide in front of the big screens.

This was also the first time that all ordinary people were able to witness the war.

Actually, when making this decision, many people were very hesitant; after all, the scenes shown in the live broadcast would be quite bloody, and if they chose to let everyone see it, it was hard to guarantee that some people with weak psychological endurance wouldn’t have problems.

But when everyone looked at the number of people who had died in past Beast Tides and the total number of cult members recently arrested, everyone agreed to this decision.

Where did these cult members come from? Naturally, from the ordinary masses, and why would these ordinary masses join cults?

They had thought about this question for a long time.

Some said it was because their lives were too painful, so they wanted to join a cult to escape their current life.

Some felt they were too well protected, became ignorant of the suffering of the world, and then wanted to escape when they encountered a little difficulty.

Even more people felt they were ungrateful and wanted more power and status.

...

However, even with various reasons, none of them were excuses for joining a cult.

At the same time, the achievements of the heroes should not be lightly recorded and then forgotten; everyone should know their contributions, everyone should understand that such a peaceful life is hard-won, and everyone should cherish the current life and not destroy it.

Although most of the current cult members have been wiped out, if things continue like this, there is no guarantee that other cults won’t appear, so everyone must see the war and know the cruelty of the war.

Of course, they also knew that some people would definitely choose to avoid watching it, and they would not force them.

They just wanted to tell everyone what they had done.

...

After this matter was announced, Xu Bai found that the footsteps of others in the research laboratory were much lighter; previously, they didn’t want the Beast Tide to arrive, but now they had started to look forward to the arrival of the Beast Tide.

Of course, they didn’t say the latter explicitly; Xu Bai saw it from their expressions.

In the past, when they could talk about the Beast Tide, they were frowning, but now there was a hint of excitement between their brows.

Not only were the researchers excited, but the soldiers also had exceptionally high spirits after knowing about this matter, and they were extra passionate during training, plus the unveiling of new weapons made them even more enthusiastic.

They all wanted to show their heroic scenes in the battle.

Everyone in the Tianlong Republic was waiting for the arrival of the Beast Tide.

...

Amidst the waiting of the masses.

December 18 arrived.

On this day, no, it should be said that on the night before, everyone had already fully armed themselves and headed to the venue to watch the live broadcast.

Although they had not watched movies, everyone knew in their hearts that they could see more clearly from the front, so they all wanted to come early to occupy a good position to watch.

Unfortunately, not only one person thought so, many people also thought so, so in the middle of the night, many venues were brightly lit, and they were crowded with people.

Wang Shanshan came to the venue alone, chose a corner seat, and waited for the arrival of the Beast Tide.

She now only had a simple identity, and that was reporter Wang Shanshan.

She didn’t expect that one day she would be able to live such a leisurely ordinary life.

Wang Shanshan took the camera hanging around her neck, and then took a picture of the liveliness in front of her; in two days, major newspapers might write about the scenes of the Beast Tide and the reactions of the crowd watching the live broadcast, so she planned to write about the crowd before the live broadcast.

Thinking this way, she decided to interview everyone about their thoughts on the live broadcast.

Scanning her eyes around, Wang Shanshan first chose a family of three with children.

”Hello, I am a reporter from the Chaoyang Daily, is it convenient for me to interview you?”

The family of three was very surprised to see a reporter come to interview them; after all, they were just ordinary people, and newspapers rarely published news about ordinary people.

”It’s convenient, ask away.”

”May I ask what you think about this live broadcast of the Beast Tide?”

The middle-aged man holding the child weighed the noisy child in his arms, and then answered Wang Shanshan’s question.

”I think this live broadcast is very good; it can let us know that our current life is hard-won.

I was actually a soldier before, but my arm suffered an injury, and then I couldn’t use too much force, so I retired; honestly, those years as a soldier were very hard, but I think it was very worth it; if my arm was better, I would still want to continue being a soldier.”

Wang Shanshan didn’t expect that she would pick a retired soldier right away.

”Thank you very much for protecting us; you are all our heroes, but you also know that the scene of the war is probably not very pleasant to watch. Why would you bring your child to watch the live broadcast? Aren’t you worried that the child will be afraid of these?”

The child next to them didn’t wait for his father’s reply and answered directly.

”I’m not afraid; when I grow up, I will also be a soldier to fight the Beast Tide, and Dad will protect me.”

Wang Shanshan took a candy from her pocket and handed it to him, praising: ”You are very brave; this is a reward for you.”

After asking a few more questions, Wang Shanshan got up and said goodbye.

After saying goodbye to the family of three, Wang Shanshan found an elderly person to ask.

She didn’t expect that this elderly person’s son was also a soldier, and then died in the line of duty.

She said that although her son sacrificed himself, the Government stated that they would always support her, and her son’s teammates often came to see her.

When asked if she could do it all over again, what would she let her son do?

She said she didn’t regret letting her son be a soldier; without those soldiers who risked their lives on the front line, there would be no peaceful life today.

...

After asking around, Wang Shanshan’s heart felt heavy; she used to only care about her little things and hadn’t thought so much; she once even hated the Government, hated why it let her vicious mother live, and hated why it didn’t save her.

Now she knew that the Government had actually been protecting all of them, and she was also being protected.
