Different World Card Master: Change the World with Cards

305: Fabricating rumorsShe began to have some doubts, suspecting that the Alien Beasts had tampered with the Divine Blood, or perhaps there was an issue with the Divine Blood itself.

Yes, that must be it. You have to realize that ordinary Alien Beast blood does not seem to cause such situations. So, what kind of Alien Beast blood could serve as Divine Blood?

Suddenly, Wang Shanshan recalled several times when she had communicated with Alien Beasts, and they had met with them in human form. Thus, she suspected that perhaps only the blood of Alien Beasts capable of transforming into human form could be used as Divine Blood.

These were merely Wang Shanshan’s speculations, and she had no other way to verify this point. However, she was not discouraged; as long as she knew there was a problem, it would be easier to handle.

So, she quietly revealed through other channels to others in the cult that something was wrong with the Divine Blood.

Of course, there had been talk within the cult before that the Divine Blood was not right, but because it was too vague, not many people took it seriously. So, she fabricated a bit, claiming that the Divine Blood was actually Alien Beast blood, and that those who drank it would eventually turn into Alien Beasts.

The rumor Wang Shanshan fabricated was quite novel, and it swept through the entire cult like a whirlwind.

Perhaps because this rumor was half-true and half-false, it was easy for people to believe. Those who had consumed the Divine Blood were anxious, while those who had not began to act smug.

You must understand that Wang Shanshan only did this to make everyone stop drinking the Divine Blood and then abandon their cooperation with the Alien Beasts.

However, she hadn’t expected that instead of trying to solve this problem, they were thinking about fighting for power and profit.

That’s right, fighting for power and profit.

The division of power within the Divine Card Sect depends on two things: first, your Card Maker level, and second, your contributions to the Divine Card Sect.

Recently, because of the surveillance, members had no way to obtain contribution points, and Card Maker levels could not be improved overnight.

Thus, they were like clocks with the pause button pressed, motionless.

Now, they had finally found a new method.

Those who had not consumed the Divine Blood believed that those who had could no longer hold positions of power; if they turned into Alien Beasts, the orders they issued would be flawed.

Naturally, those who had consumed the Divine Blood opposed the other side’s proposal. They had worked so hard to climb to these positions, how could they easily give them up?

Although those who had consumed the Divine Blood had no good way to refute the rumor everyone had been hearing lately about the Divine Blood turning people into Alien Beasts, they had numbers, and there is strength in numbers.

Thus, both sides reached a stalemate, with neither willing to yield.

At this moment, none of them knew that the Alien Beasts could control those who had consumed the Divine Blood.

The Alien Beasts did not control them all the time, after all, they did not have that much mental energy, but even occasional control was enough to probe some of their movements.

However, since the matter had become such a big deal, even if they hadn’t wanted to know, they had become aware of it.

Thus, this matter was reported to Tiger Map by the Alien Beasts who were carrying it out.

Tiger Map considered himself to have a relatively good understanding of humans. He knew that those humans now had suspicions about the Divine Blood, and as time passed, this suspicion would only grow. Therefore, those who had not consumed the Divine Blood would not do so in the future, meaning his previous plan to quietly control everyone in the cult using the blood could not succeed.

If the cult were to be controlled by those who had not consumed their blood, wouldn’t the blood they had previously provided have been supplied in vain?

So he decided they needed to change their method and just go all the way.

So he gathered the Super-High-Grade Alien Beasts of the Tianlong Republic once again and explained his revised plan.

The other Super-High-Grade Alien Beasts had no objections to this opportunity, so they launched the operation.

What was the plan?

Tiger Map intended to control the cult members who had consumed his blood to kill the small minority of members who had not consumed the Divine Blood, thus allowing him to directly control the entire cult.

However, since those humans who had consumed their blood did not have any special characteristics that allowed him to distinguish them in ordinary times, and also to prevent others from causing trouble, the other people who had consumed the Alien Beast blood also needed to be controlled.

Tiger Map had the other Super-High-Grade Alien Beasts control the humans who had consumed their blood to keep their eyes open and remain motionless. This way, he could use these two points—the motionless people and their glowing eyes—to distinguish which members of the Divine Card Sect had not consumed their blood.

This plan sounded quite good, but what the Super-High-Grade Alien Beasts had not anticipated was that someone had already noticed the characteristic of the controlled people’s eyes glowing.

That’s right, that person was Wang Shanshan.

After Wang Shanshan had previously seen another assistant’s eyes glow after drinking the Divine Blood, she had specifically ordered and purchased a potion on the black market that could make eyes glow. Since then, she had been applying this potion every day and wearing a hood.

On this day, when she saw a group of people with glowing eyes stepping forward to kill, she realized something was wrong, so she followed the example of those around her and remained motionless.

Before long, someone walked past her, took off her hood, saw her glowing eyes, and then walked away.

Because the number of people who had consumed the Divine Blood was so massive, the Super-High-Grade Alien Beasts needed to control so many people simultaneously. Each Super-High-Grade Alien Beast controlled a different number of people, and this was also their first time controlling so many people, so Wang Shanshan managed to muddle through.

...

This incident left everyone in the cult very panicked.

So many people had lost consciousness at the same time, and when they regained consciousness, some people were dead in front of them.

They carefully examined those who had died and discovered that they had one common characteristic: they had not consumed the so-called Divine Blood.

Immediately after, they discovered that some people had various weapons in their hands, and after comparing them, they found they were indeed the murder weapons.

However, those who had committed the acts all reported that they had suddenly lost consciousness just a moment ago, and when they regained consciousness, this was the situation.

They believed this statement, as everyone had experienced it themselves.

The Super-High-Grade Alien Beasts had made no attempt to conceal anything; it could even be said they were acting with impunity. The members of the Divine Card Sect pieced these clues together: everyone in the Divine Card Sect who had not consumed the Divine Blood had been killed. Now, no matter how slow they were, they realized it was a problem with the Divine Blood.

No, it shouldn’t be called Divine Blood anymore; it should be called Alien Beast blood.

Whether or not this Alien Beast blood could turn them into Alien Beasts might be uncertain, but it was certain that it could make them lose consciousness. Furthermore, not only did they lose consciousness, but some people could also be controlled to kill, meaning they could also be controlled by Alien Beasts.

At first, when they saw those who had already died, they felt a bit of sadness, but very quickly, this sadness was overtaken by the fear that surged up afterward.

The focus now was not on those who had already died, but on their own lives.

Since the Alien Beasts could make those people die so easily, wouldn’t it be even simpler to take the lives of the rest of them?
