Different World Card Master: Change the World with Cards

306: Reason for sending the letterWhat can they do now?

What other options do they have?

The answer is none.

It was all caused by greed; had they not been greedy, this situation would not have arisen.

They have no way to remove the Alien Beast blood from their bodies now, which means they cannot escape the control of the Alien Beasts.

Sigh.

Some people were sad for a while, but then regained their composure because they realized that everyone alive in the cult had consumed Alien Beast blood.

When everyone is the same, it means everyone is normal.

How ironic.

They planned to continue living as they did before, as if they hadn’t discovered this fact.

This self-deceptive way of thinking was shared by most people; they wouldn’t panic until the very end.

Perhaps this is also why they are in a cult; they have a higher tolerance for such things.

Some even thought about making everyone drink this Alien Beast blood, wanting everyone to be buried with them.

However, this idea is quite difficult to realize.

Because the blood provided by the Super-High-Grade Alien Beasts is not unlimited; even if all the Super-High-Grade Alien Beasts were drained dry, it would be impossible for everyone to drink it.

Because everyone present was the same, they discussed their thoughts without restraint.

When hearing these people’s thoughts, Wang Shanshan felt that they had gone mad.

She felt that among these people, she was the only normal one—no, perhaps she was the only human left?

Right, would these people really turn into Alien Beasts?

Although she was the one who proposed this idea, she didn’t believe it herself, but now she was starting to believe it a little.

However, regardless of whether she believed it or not, as the only truly normal person living among them, she needed to be more cautious than before.

Once everyone in the cult shared the same secret, their trust in each other increased, their speech became freer, and consequently, Wang Shanshan learned more intelligence.

It was because of this that she learned the news that the Alien Beasts were planning to launch an active attack on human cities ahead of schedule.

It is hard to say whether this is fortunate or unfortunate.

...

Wang Shanshan admitted that she was not a good person; she had done many bad things before joining the cult.

She had lived a painful life before and hated many people, but later she detached herself from her previous life and was living the life she wanted.

In fact, if not for her friend, she would never have thought about entering the inner circle of the cult; she had previously intended to simply be an external member of the cult and spend her whole life that way.

However, things did not go as planned. She hadn’t expected the cult to have ”God’s blood,” nor had she expected her friend to become addicted to it, take action to obtain more, and then disappear.

By the way, she heard that the Tianlong Republic had killed some people and captured many others; she didn’t know if her friend was in the group that was killed or the group that was captured.

So she wondered if it was possible to save her friend.

Therefore, when Wang Shanshan learned the news that the Alien Beasts wanted to launch an active attack on human cities ahead of schedule, she chose to write a letter to Xu Bai, hoping he could investigate her friend’s situation and, if her friend was still alive, use this information to trade for her friend’s life.

As for herself, she realized she had fallen into a quagmire; unless she died, she could not escape the cult.

There was no other way. If other cult members knew she hadn’t consumed the ”God’s blood” and hadn’t been harmed by the Alien Beasts, their hatred for the Alien Beasts might be transferred to her.

No matter where she fled to the ends of the earth, they would not let her go.

After all, why should she be the only one who is fine!

...

One day later, Wang Shanshan received a reply from Xu Bai.

Xu Bai’s letter didn’t contain much content; it was mainly to send communication cards and walkie-talkie cards to Wang Shanshan, so they could contact each other through the communication cards later, and use the walkie-talkies for communication and cooperation during special times.

The first message Wang Shanshan sent through the communication card was to inquire about her friend.

The Information Officer attached great importance to this message because they had analyzed Wang Shanshan’s psychology and felt that this friend was very important to her. If they didn’t find her friend, she might not cooperate with them in the future; after all, they were effectively the culprits who killed her friend.

Because many cult members had been captured or killed, and many cult members had one or more identities, the Government had not yet confirmed the situation of the friend Wang Shanshan mentioned, so they asked Wang Shanshan if she had a photo of her friend.

Wang Shanshan had no choice but to send her friend’s photo again to the mailing address Xu Bai had left for her.

After spending some time, Wang Shanshan finally learned news about her friend.

This was good news, good news for both sides.

This friend was not dead; she was still alive.

After learning the news that her friend was still alive, a smile bloomed on Wang Shanshan’s face unconsciously, though it was fleeting.

While the Government informed her that her friend was still alive, they also told her the reason why her friend was still alive and provided her with surveillance footage of her friend.

After watching the surveillance footage, Wang Shanshan wanted to laugh a little; she hadn’t expected that after all this, her friend was only alive because she had consumed Alien Beast blood.

After learning that the Alien Beasts were cooperating with the cult and providing them with Alien Beast blood, the Tianlong Republic also had to prepare early, so those who had consumed Alien Beast blood became research materials.

Although treating humans as research materials was a bit cruel, these people could no longer be considered human.

One had to know that they might be controlled by Alien Beasts at any time and then commit acts that harmed society.

Therefore, it was impossible for them to release these people.

However, because of the need to cooperate with Wang Shanshan, her friend was removed from the laboratory, and the Tianlong Republic arranged an independent residence for her. They would provide her with supplies; it was basically life imprisonment.

Wang Shanshan did not mind this and promised the Tianlong Republic that she would continue to lie in wait within the cult and provide them with more information.

...

Xu Bai did not get involved in the later communication with Wang Shanshan.

Xu Bai still had a good sense of self-awareness; he knew he was not omnipotent, and he knew he could only do two things now: one was research, and the second was helping the Research Institute make more weapon cards.

Now everyone in the Research Institute had been mobilized; some less important research had been stopped, and basically everyone was making the weapon cards needed by the military.

Things were being arranged step by step.
