Different World Card Master: Change the World with Cards

303: How to deal withAfter finishing reading the letter, the Administrator explained the identity of the sender, the relationship between the other party and Xu Bai, and how to contact Xu Bai.

Some of these details came from Xu Bai, while others were investigated by personnel from the Tianlong Republic Intelligence Department in the short dozen minutes prior.

At the same time, information personnel determined that the facts revealed in the letter were true; in other words, they assessed the credibility of the letter to be over ninety percent, which was why this meeting was held.

After all, this was not a laughing matter; if they took a series of actions based on this, only to be told later that it was a prank, it would likely cause a massive upheaval.

However, even if they were to assign blame in the end, it would not fall on Xu Bai. Xu Bai only received the letter, and the content of the letter was left to others to judge its authenticity.

...

In the silence, Mr. Number Three spoke first.

”Is there any way we can prevent this war?”

Mr. Number Eight felt that it was probably impossible to stop the other party, as what they knew was only through others, and to stop them, they would need a way to contact them.

However, they currently had no rapport with the beasts; their interactions were always about fighting and killing. Such contact could not stop the other party and might even make them want to launch the war more.

”What are we supposed to say to them? Should we tell them not to come and fight us, and we won’t fight them? That’s not realistic. Even if there is no battle now, the subsequent Beast Tide will still be unavoidable.”

Mr. Number Eight threw a wet blanket on the idea.

Although he had been dampened, Mr. Number Three was not angry; he just felt it was better to think more about everything, just in case there was a good solution.

However, he was not afraid if there was no way to prevent the beasts from launching the war early; he had experienced war and been to the front lines, so he would not panic.

Following that, several other gentlemen expressed their attitudes regarding the matter.

Finally, Mr. Number Two spoke and set the tone.

”We should try to think in the worst-case scenario and make preparations accordingly. Therefore, we must now think about how to face this different kind of war, how we can achieve victory in this war, and at the same time, keep some strength in reserve to deal with the next war.”

Everyone nodded in agreement with what Mr. Number Two said.

The next step was to discuss response plans.

This required confirming the situation with weapons in advance.

Therefore, the Administrator of the Research Institute needed to report on the latest research developments and future research plans.

The gentlemen listened, their eyes widening, and some even quietly picked their ears, as if they could not believe what they were hearing was true.

Although they knew that before the Beast Tide, the Research Institute would divert all resources to weapon development to deal with it, and they knew that some research results would appear.

But they did not expect to hear about so many successful weapon research projects.

They knew about drones and manned drones, as they had seen the records of the situation at the Card Maker Guild’s report meeting, but they did not know about the other weapons, as it was still two days until the Research Institute’s scheduled reporting time.

The Research Institute had many outstanding recent research achievements.

First, they had also developed the tank cards that the Luo Lan Empire had created, and not only did they develop them, but they also took it a step further: the attack power was increased, and the defense was also enhanced.

This gave the soldiers a certain level of confidence in facing high-level beasts, and it was even easier against low-level beasts.

Next was the Sniper Rifle cards; this weapon combined three significant advantages: ultra-long range, super-strong damage, and compatibility with multi-functional ammunition, posing a major threat to high-level beasts. After all, using this weapon to attack low-level beasts felt like using a cannon to shoot a mosquito; it was too wasteful.

Next were some auxiliary devices they hadn’t even dared to imagine, such as an aiming aid that allowed bullets to accurately strike beasts, and a scanner that could distinguish between friend and foe.

Oh right, there was also a weapon with extremely powerful lethality: the Star Energy Stone Bomb.

That’s right, Xu Bai had developed the Star Energy Stone Bomb.

The stability of star energy stones was actually very high; after all, used star energy stones could still be used to create protective shields, so they would not explode easily.

Therefore, the chain reaction of star energy stone explosions that Xu Bai had previously worried about would not occur.

Regarding this, Xu Bai breathed a sigh of relief; fortunately, there would be no chain reaction, otherwise, this world might perish because of this weapon.

Although it would not trigger a chain reaction, the power of this Star Energy Stone Bomb was more than ten times that of a regular bomb, greatly utilizing the energy within the star energy stone.

However, this weapon also had one drawback: it required drawing the corresponding combustion cards and embedding them into the star energy stone to allow it to reach the conditions for explosion, which meant it required a certain reaction time.

However, these issues could be overcome; overall, the advantages outweighed the disadvantages.

After these were explained, the gentlemen began to arrange for personnel to produce and duplicate these weapon cards.

Of course, they also realized that these beasts were attacking before the Beast Tide, so some weapons were no longer suitable. First, regarding the landmines used previously, if the beasts had consciousness, they might change their route to attack human cities, so things like landmines might not be stepped on by the beasts if not handled correctly.

There were also some weapons that required camouflage to avoid being discovered by the beasts. For example, the Star Energy Stone Bomb required a certain amount of time, so the timing needed to be controlled when delivering it via drone. If it took too long and the beasts got their hands on it and threw it into the crowd, that would be bad.

As the discussion deepened, everyone also thought about the challenges the army would face this time, so they needed to notify the army as soon as possible to let the soldiers prepare themselves mentally.

After the subsequent general arrangements were made, Xu Bai also received a task.

He needed to write a letter to Wang Shanshan, send the communicator cards along with the letter, and then let the Information Department maintain communication with the other party.

After all, there were still 8 days until the time the other party said the beasts would launch an early attack on human cities. These 8 days were neither long nor short; perhaps they could glean some inside information, or there might be other surprises, so they needed to keep an eye on the other party’s movements at all times.

Xu Bai nodded, indicating that he would write the letter immediately.

The task assigned to the Research Institute here was no longer to continue research, but now to produce and duplicate weapon cards according to their strategic arrangements.
