Different World Card Master: Change the World with Cards

238: Young and promisingThe researchers below were all very surprised to see Bai Xiaobai’s appearance. Although they knew Bai Xiaobai was young, they only thought he was in his forties, but they didn’t expect Bai Xiaobai to be only in his twenties.

He truly was young and promising.

What were they doing in their twenties? Most of them were just doing odd jobs in research institutes.

Now, many research assistants are at least...

Compared to him, they were now old and had not achieved much, feeling somewhat like failures.

If other Card Makers knew of their thoughts, they might curse them out, because for Card Makers, they were already considered very successful.

It’s important to know that being a researcher or a research assistant is not an easy task.

Most Card Makers just open small shops at home, making everyday cardss. Some mid-level Card Makers join companies to make cardss for them, and only truly skilled Card Makers become researchers and research assistants.

However, this only goes to show that Bai Xiaobai is a prodigy, as he is currently the only one so young to have achieved such significant success.

Everyone’s thoughts drifted for a moment, but then refocused on the podium.

cards making is very much about inspiration. Listening to a skilled Card Maker lecture can spark inspiration, so they needed to listen carefully.

Xu Bai: ”Good morning, everyone. This event was quite sudden. I’ll start by discussing a few of our company’s current products.”

”First, you all know about my energy conversion principle, right?”

Everyone in the audience nodded. They had all read every paper Bai Xiaobai had published, and they had some understanding of the energy conversion principle described in those papers.

Xu Bai nodded with satisfaction. At the same time, he shared the law of conservation of energy with everyone, which he had previously only discussed with Bai Shan. He had not yet written this into a paper.

”Next, I want to talk about the law of conservation of energy. Energy can neither be created nor destroyed; it can only be transformed from one form to another, or transferred from one object to another. The total amount remains constant during conversion and transfer.”

As his words fell, everyone below picked up their pens and began taking notes.

This could be considered the official announcement of the law of conservation of energy, as it had only been discussed with Bai Shan before.

”Regarding this law, you can conduct experiments later, such as the conversion between potential energy and mechanical energy. However, be sure to ignore friction.”

Then, based on this law, you can understand that electrical energy is converted from other forms of energy. When we make other products, we then need to consider converting electrical energy into other forms of energy.

For example, our power bank cards. The power bank converts electrical energy into chemical energy, and then when we use it, it converts chemical energy back into electrical energy. This should be easy for everyone to understand.

Then there’s the electric blanket cards, which converts electrical energy into thermal energy. I’ve seen some people use this to research and develop heating rods for heating water, which is very good.

I wonder if any of you have been researching appliance cardss for cooking recently? If so, please raise your hand.”

Xu Bai paused for 2 seconds, saw more than a dozen hands raised below, and then continued.

”Have you encountered some problems?”

Let me guess.

Is the heated food unevenly heated? Does it leak electricity after prolonged use? Does the resistance wire often break due to overheating?”

The researchers and research assistants below nodded frantically. Every question Bai Xiaobai asked precisely hit their research pain points. They even suspected that Bai Xiaobai was a member of their research lab.

Or perhaps Bai Xiaobai himself was researching cooking cardss?

”Let me first tell you why. It’s because the resistor can only heat the areas it comes into contact with locally. It’s like a red-hot wire. Imagine what would happen if you rubbed rice directly with a red-hot wire; there’s no way to heat the rice evenly.”

Secondly, our food contains a lot of water, and water conducts electricity. I believe everyone has been educated about electrical safety, and you should all wear insulated gloves during experiments.

The heated sauces and liquids can be somewhat corrosive, easily corroding the insulation layer. When the insulation layer breaks, there’s a risk of electrical leakage, and the dangers of electrical leakage often come at the cost of human lives.

Finally, regarding the problem of the resistance wire burning out, that’s because the heating time is too long and the temperature is too high. After all, the temperature of an electric blanket isn’t particularly high, so it’s less prone to problems, whereas cooking requires a higher temperature.”

”Then how can we avoid these problems?”

One researcher eagerly asked.

”I think at this point, our thinking might have entered a misconception. We don’t necessarily have to stick to one path; we can try a different approach.”

A different approach?

Everyone’s heads were filled with question marks.

”I currently have another idea that you can try, which is to convert electromagnetic energy into thermal energy. We can make a coil into a coil plate. After it’s energized, the coil plate generates a magnetic field, thus having electromagnetic energy. This electromagnetic energy then causes our cookware to produce eddy currents, and these eddy currents generate heat. This heat is generated in the cookware itself, so its principle of heating is not the same as an electric blanket.”

Because it heats the entire cookware, the heating is even, and safety is also greatly improved.

Based on this principle, you can try researching appliance cardss for directly cooking rice, stir-frying dishes, and heating things.”

The pens of the people below never stopped moving while Xu Bai was speaking; this was all useful knowledge.

Some even thought about rushing back to the lab to start researching immediately, but Xu Bai’s lecture wasn’t over yet, so they suppressed the urge.

”Alright, I’ve given you a general explanation of these. In the future, you can also think about creating cardss based on what kind of energy you want to convert electrical energy into.”

At the same time, everyone is now aware that the Tianlong Republic is building wind power plants and hydropower plants, but the amount of electricity that can be obtained from these two forms of generation is not enough to supply everything.

However, everyone, don’t worry. I have news for you. Some time ago, Bai Xiaobai’s research institute also developed human-powered power plants and thermal power plants.

This also means that the sources of electrical energy will be wider, and there will be more electrical energy. After these power plants are built, everyone won’t have to worry about not having electricity available.

In the future, electrical energy will be involved in all aspects of our lives and production. I hope that your contributions will be part of the future development of society.”

As his words fell, applause erupted.

Next was the Q&A session. Everyone eagerly raised their hands, asking about problems they had encountered in their recent research and questions that came to mind during the class. Xu Bai patiently answered each one.
